My check oil light went off earlier in the day so I made it a point to go in to the closest jiffy lube to get it changed. I didn't know that I was using the wrong oil and I definitely didn't know how much it was damaging my car. Justin in the Boulder Colorado shop was fantastic. He explained what was going on and the easy ways to fix it. He offered me some coupons to make it more affordable since I didn't budget for this to happen. I ended up leaving with a great feeling knowing my car was in better shape and felt like I would make the trip to go back to this shop in particular again. Overall wonderful job!
I had heard from a half dozen folks that within 100 miles after going to a Jiffy Lube, their cars all broke down, requiring lots of repairs. I went to a Jiffy Lube in Northern California, and they failed to put in the necessary amount of oil. I picked up a quart of oil at an auto store, dumped it in, and drove on. I should have learned my lesson, but didn't. I went to a Jiffy Lube in Sherman Oaks, CA where I was working for a few days. I stayed with the car to ensure that something was done as in adequate oil replacement, but when I handed my bank card to them, they took several hundred dollars more than the overpriced oil and filter change fee. They scoffed and laughed at the LAPD and told me I'd have to sue them for my money they just stole. The LAPD officer walks in to a private office and comes out with a smile on his face and tells me to sue them. When I asked if I could walk off with a couple hundred dollars of merchandise it seemed that such an act would be considered a crime, but Jiffy Lube's theft of my money was not. This is a business to avoid like the plague. I wrote to their corporate offices, and that was entirely useless.
We have a Honda and RAV. The Honda was on its 2nd oil change and the RAV its 1st. The mechanic changing the Honda oil said Whoever changed the oil last left the bolt loose. My wife said you did. Mechanic argued that JL (Jiffy lube) didnt do the last oil change because it isn't our oil filter. We had papers proving it. We determined it was the wrong filter because JL didnt change the filter on our previous visit. We got the car home and it left a 1ft pool of oil on the driveway. We also had the oil changed in the RAV and it was now leaking. We took the Honda back to JL and they said the oil pan gasket is bad. We took the Honda to our mechanic. $300 later our mechanic said JL had over tightened the drain bold and cracked the pan. I saw the crack and kept the pan. I went to corporate and let them know our story. The 1st time we got no response. I wrote a 2nd letter and threaten small claims. They finely responded with we have trained professionals although JL had no explanation as to the off brand oil filter and the cracked oil pan. The manager of our local JL in canyon country CA offered us $108 of free oil changes. We took the offer, we didnt want to hassle with small claims. After we use our coupons, we have no plan of ever returning to JL. The RAV was making noises when we turned the steering wheel. The steering fluid was empty. JL paperwork showed that all fluid levels were good. We are still looking into why it is now dripping oil.
Was in for transmission fluid exchange they cracked my transmission pan in process. When returned to find out there policy in damage during service Tommy the manager Was told this was the chance I was taking! So I contact Vic the region manager and got same answers.
So I guess Jiffy Lube don't do much research when they hire management
>>>>HORRIBLE SERVICE<<<< I just came in for an oil change and tire rotation. I left with grease marks on the seat of an almost new car (14k miles), no valve stem caps on the passenger side, dirty windows (they weren't touched even though it was checked off on the service order), and tires that were never rotated. My vehicle never left the oil change bay until I drove it away from the exit side after the oil change. I spoke to the manager (Brian Mizell) who said he would "have a huddle" with the service guys but offered nothing further until I pressed the issue. All he offered me was 20% off future visits. + My receipt shows I payed for the rotation which still hasn't happened. THERE WON'T BE FUTURE VISITS J/A!
