It's very stressful when you have a 99 and you get one answer wrong then it brings you down to a 70.

I am a grade 6 student and my parents make me do Ixl and let me tell you...IT'S THE WORST APP TO EVER EXIST! IT'S FIRST OF ALL STRESSFUL AND THE POINTS SYSTEM IS RIGGED! I WAS AT 99 AND THEN I GOT ONE WRONG AND IT BROUGHT ME DOWN TO 90 WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS THING?! Teachers and parents If your reading this...don't let your children or class do this app it will give your children mental issues and make them cry over a single math question.

Terrible, I hate this app so much. It helps you with nothing in life AT ALL like don't even try it out. I mean not good who ever decided on making this wasn't thinking right at all like you can tell this is a no brainier. I am a VERY Christian mom and me myself couldn't handle it. One day my 2 beautiful, amazing, majestic, talented, golden children needed help and I had tried to but couldn't. I mean it got to the point I had to go on Facebook and make a post about this nonsense. Unbelievable ban this app ASAP.

IXL is the worst piece of crap ever. I know that I'm just a teen but listen to me. If you are a parent or teacher, NEVER USE IT. Firstly, you will just be wasting your money on a bunch of $#*! that don't help your child learn anything. It creates stress on them. Out of the 10 hours a day I am on IXL, I spend at least 8 of them silently crying or screaming out of anger. It is so frustrating when you get 1 question wrong because there is something called a smart score and your goal is to get it to 100. However, for example, when you are at 90 and get 1 question wrong, your score will go down to 75 and it will take at least 20 questions in a row to get back to 90. IXL was an awful idea and only make your kids mad. My parents, having the Asian genes in them, forced me to do IXL every day to become the top of the class and ahead of everyone. I am not sorry to say that I broke multiple devices/electronics because I was so upset and frustrated that I kept getting the questions wrong. Once I ended up having to miss 3 days of school because I punched my iPad and got glass stuck in my hand really deep. In fact, I think that IXL will cause your child to think that all learning is like IXL and make them hate learning and become a bad/not willing to learn student. Every night, I cry myself to sleep because I still haven't finished and dread waking up the next day. It takes hours or even days to finish just one skill. Although there are explanations, they don't help, are too long to read at 3am in the morning, and sometimes aren't even related to the question. IXL drives me crazy. If I could, I would have put -******* stars. I have proof for you that I spend at least 1 hour on every skill and answer at least 200 questions. IXL is torture to every single person that even try's to answer 1 question. It really questions your child's will to live. NEVER USE IT. You can probably tell how much I hate this crap because I am writing a whole 10 page essay on how bad this piece of $#*! is.

God made a HUGE mistake on creating Paul Mishkin.

First of all, their little "fun" way of learning is just adding a timer, a SmartScore, and how many total questions you've earned. They want to make it sound like a "race" to get to first place (just like the average YouTube comment section kid) when they're going to shove the same damn question in your $#*! over 186 times. Their explanation system either yapps about nonsense jack$#*! or just says "LoOk At ThE iMaGe" over. And over. And over again.

The way IXL is designed is basically IXL saying "Hey! Parents! Come fly over to my website and suck my blood for the low cost of $100 USD!" and absolutely crashes your great and adorable child's mind. I remember using this a LOT during summer break (because back then my mom watched Lankybox /srs) and I couldn't tell you HOW hard I laughed when I read those IXL reviews back then.

Because THOSE reviews were true!

Their "award" system is so jackass along with it. I spent mere days and hours to- what did I get? A whole.PNG of a video game controller. Like if you're going to spend mere days coming up with a different way to impress the people who built torture devices back then at least award them with SOMETHING like a $15 VISA gift card or a $25 Roblox Gift Card bro...

They also give no mercy $#*!less to the person using IXL. If an assignment is about decimals and you accidentally add on a.0 to it, you go down to square one. I once heard that a kid threw his iPad on the wall because he got one wrong at the challenge zone, and how many points did he drop down?

THIRTY!

So don't expect your child to come out of school like an emo after doing thirteen seconds of IXL, because that right there's going to make you wish you never gave IXL.

Paul Mishkin, if you're reading this...

I hope a million ants crawl into your d!ck and your butt tonight.

"I EXCELL (IXL)." MORE LIKE I x HELL.

Previous review

I've used this website several times, at the age of 5 and PRESENT DAY, as an 11-year-old (and still use it every Summer Break because my mom clearly has mental issues) to give out a very... "positive" review.

It's bullshit.

It causes an immense amount of stress and the explanations are VERY, VERY bad. Sure, in their maybe 3-year ago update they added videos, but that doesn't help AT ALL. Their score counter doesn't add anything more interesting to it, it's only going to add pressure as the time ticks away. Score of 76. FIFTY-SIX MINUTES spent. ONE lesson! Oh, maybe you're going to say "WeLl ThAt'S jUsT a LoW iQ pErSoN" shut up.

This is just a website to add more pressure into your child's cute (and preferably smart) brain to make them destined to the wrong career. As far as I know, there are over 100 lessons per grade. (If I'm causing misinformation, I'm sorry.) And... they ALL aren't interesting.

Oh, did I forget to mention how shameful their "fun learning experience is"?

Imagine it this way:
Your SmartScore is 99.
4 hours and 19 minutes passed.
You get the question wrong.

And HOW many points do you drop down? NEARLY THIRTY WHOLE POINTS! THIRTY! Say that out loud. I've put it in syllable form to make it easier. "THIR-TY". THIRTY! Do you know how OUTRAGEOUS that is?!

I've learnt BETTER from other websites by spending nearly 20 minutes than spending EIGHTEEN DAYS learning from IXHELL. And that saved me HOW MANY HOURS?

Do the math.

24 x 18 = 432 hours.

I save 25,900 minutes (431.67 hours) SPENDING TWENTY MINUTES on one subject.

IXL, if you're seeing this review...
I hope you and everyone in your country burn in hellfire tonight.

(Edit: I've seen recent comments about how "IXL is just a normal website like other websites". If it's such a "normal website", you try out that bullsh*t yourself. See how your experience goes. Work on it nonstop and then you'll experience the pain.)

Oh boy... lets talk
March 4, 2024

IXL is among the worst websites ive ever used as a student it has some good qualities such as a rewards systems but thats about it it has lessons for almost anything but the questions are weird ithas no help tools other than a draw tool that only sees use when some people are bored and due to the only one help tool the site has no extra help for people of different mental capacities its atrocious this website is a stain among other education sites if you want a good education site go use CK-12 trust me.

IXL is a lot better than I-Ready
March 3, 2024
Updated review

Geez, if you hate IXL, then what about I-Ready? IXL can be boring, but at least you can actually pick your lessons instead of just getting whatever you got picked for you by the app. If you hate I-Ready, try IXL it's a lot better. Glad there is some math app that's better than I-Ready.

IXL is a lot better than some math websites, like I-Ready. But IXL is useful. I like how you can pick your lesson, and not have to go through whatever they picked for you. IXL is okay. If I have to use it I will. I recommend it, it's useful and teaches you things. Definitely try it! If you don't like it, I understand. Anyway, IXL is a lot better. The only problem with IXL that it's boring. The prizes are cool, but there is no "celebration" if you finished something.

Geared for monatary Gain
February 24, 2024

IXL is geared to make money. IXL has no programs for low income. Thus, Creating a barrier for the low income families. How do we make AMERICA great again when we roadblock a child's ability to learn? Who thinks this is OK?

There are lots of reviews on here that have one or two stars but those are just kids who hate learning and don't know the Insufferable pain that is I-Ready. IXL has helped me a lot through middle school and to put how helpful IXL is into perspective I learned imaginary numbers in 7th grade. Please do not listen to all these whiny kids who don't like learning.

IXL is SOOO much better than I-Ready
January 13, 2024
Previous review

Unlike I-ready I actually learn things on IXL. (But unfortunately, my dumb school canceled their subscription to IXL) And also unlike I-ready I get to pick what I want to learn. On I-Ready I have to learn stuff I already know but on IXL if 7th grade math is too easy (Which it is) I can go up to Math 2 at will. Go to https://www.change.org/p/ban-i-ready-from-schools to help destroy the useless, free time extinguisher that is I-ready.
