Never get the app it the worst i would recemend iready because you dont lose you score and it just better you get to play stakm aka a cat game it just sucks

There are so, SO many 1-2 star reviews out there, yet some parents and teachers (and even schools) still use this forsaken website. I have a lot to say in the picture attached below. Anyways, IXL should be gone by now, since it's literally a scam. It asks for a heaping ton of money in exchange for ruining young lives. I hope that someone in authority would finally put that "thing" 6 feet - no, 10 feet - no, FOREVER UNDER! Hopefully, IXL will go away or be changed to stop tormenting everyone who's used it before and nowadays...

Judging by the reviews, this site deserves a DOS to the server for a few weeks to straighten them out.

If you saw any other reviews, you should know many reasons. One of my 4 main reasons is that first of all, it's expensive! If you want to learn all 4 main school subjects, you have to pay 19 $ a month! The worst part of that is ixl isn't even good! Now although it has many options for learning stuff, that's also one of its many downfalls. When there are so many options, it feels like you have to do all of them to be up to standard! Also, the diagnostic is pretty bad. I have taken many other standardized tests, and none of my scores match up to my ixl levels! Also, the awards are very bad. All you get for the torturous hours of pain you sometimes have to go through to get one thing done is not worth a dumb stamp or a book cover or an ice cream icon! Overall ixl is a piece of $#*!.

This site is horrible. It requires students to do a "smart score" system that promotes stress and ends up with them crying or physically damaging their Chromebooks. We had to remove this from the school system due to the influx of people going to the school therapists and parents calling the school complaining about this program. We do not recommend this program. The picture displayed is of the school line for therapy outside of program building 5. Please do not use this very poorly designed program for your school system.

I really hope IXL reads this, but it really needs more explaining. I'm working on one step addition and subtraction with decimals and it does not explain anything. It literally says, "simply the left", and it leaves me confused asl, I was struggling. Please fix this. I don't have a photo to prove it, but js this review should at least reach them.

You have to have specific grammar and if you don't you get it wrong. You also go down so much for a wrong answer so ixl is doodoo

IXL is not only helping kids practice skills like prepositions or decimals, but it gives them encouraging rewards for their efforts. Although many kids complain and dislike IXL greatly, I believe that that is because it DOES have some improvements to be made. While IXL seems really boring, it is helping your mind develop and learn. I can understand people who don't like it, but that is only because I know the reasons and I can relate. Please note that the reason the curriculum might include IXL is because they know how useful it is. Teachers would not make kids work on it if they didn't approve of IXL, which they obviously do. I'm no expert on teaching kids, but I think that teachers would only allow their students to do work on learning platforms that they actually think are good. It's also useful because teachers can assign skills that they know the kids have room for improvement for.

Over all it sucks a lot, i put a correct answer and it said its wrong, it also has very annoying bugs such as the prizes, thequality and even more!

Ixl is the most riged stress racking rage incurgeing learn app out there, it shoulden't even be an app, and its all the same. Example, you go to forth grade reading and do the theme and you go to eghth grade and do the them catigory they have the same Q and A. Nobodyy likes ixl but like 1 person in my class, it sucks over all and the presedent should ban ixl.

I am in the 6th grade and hate Ixl. It is terrible and everyone in my school hates it the system is rigged and they use fake reviews to lure people into their torture they need to delete the app I have decided to make a ton of bad reviews on their own website to try and save people teacher assign up to 8 Ixls and cause depression and anxiety in most students we spend soo many hours every day on Ixl this has led me & other classmates to be sleep deprived of so many IXL's we NEED to delete this app it is making the world a worse place and abusing the future generations If I was A teacher I would try and ban it. My friend goes to a private school and she knows from me showing her gust ONE that the system is rigged and for teachers who get paid to do practically nothing but torture students and just give students IXL. BTW IXL= stress, anxiety, and depression.

Lemme tell a you that one time i was doing easy stuff like 3rd grade math multiply by 0 but it said 0 was wrong so ixl is just a bunch of $#*!s

One time, I was practicing IXL on my chrome book, and I was at 70%, then, I got 1 question wrong, and it brought me back to 64%, and then, I got a question right, and the smart score went up 2%! I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IT

My teacher assigned us like 100 of these a week and it's stressful. It takes too long and by the way, if you have a question correct it gives you like 4 but its like 2 on the challenge zone. If you get it wrong it decreases your score and takes it away by 10 8 or 9. As you can see by the picture my grades are either F or B. Also thank you ixl for making my parents force me to stop sleeping to do the work

This website sucks more than a website made by a four-year-old child. This website keeps me awake at night hoping to god i don't get assigned any more work.

I am currently in the 8th grade taking Algebra 1, ELA 8, Science 8, and Social Studies 8 honors. All of my classes except Social Studies currently use IXL. I have used IXL since kindergarten and it is absolutely horrible. I have added all my time up together and have spent over 200 hours on this horrible website. When you start an IXL lesson, it starts out good. The point system goes like this, if your points are less than 10, it will give 10 points and take 1, less than 20 will give 9 and take 2, less than 30 will give 8 and take 3, less than 40 will give 7 and take 4, less than 50 will give 6 and take 5, less than 60 will give 5 and take 6, less than 70 will give 4 and take 7, less than 80 will give 3 and take 8, less than 90 will give 2 and take 9, and 90 to 100 will give 1 and take 10. (Most of the time. Some lessons points given and awarded are doubled.) This is an unfair and horrible point system because it rips away success when it is at your fingertips. If you are at 99 and get one wrong, you will have to answer 10 more questions correctly to get back to your score. This makes a lot of students very frustrated which can lead to anger outburst. I am an ADHD child, so it is harder to control these outbursts for me. This is not making the brain smarter, it is making it angrier. IXL needs to rework their whole "SmartScore" system, because it is not very smart. The questions also get harder the more points you have, which sometimes gets to the point of the questions near the end being nothing like the questions at the beginning. Teachers are also very annoying about this website as well. Many teachers tend to assign about 3 IXLs every day for homework, which each take about 30 minutes, averaging 1 hour and 30 minutes of homework everyday for every class. I just came back sick from school, and am very behind in all these stupid IXLs so I better get back to work on them. I hope you agree with my opinion on this stupid website. I hope this website gets shut down soon.

He was never the same after IXL. He couldn't talk, only recite ixl questions. We tried to hep him but it was no use. It was far to late. We tried to sue ixl but they said to read to read the terms of service. It said their website causes mental and phcical harm to users.

This is an absolute horrible program design for lazy teachers that want to coast through life. This does not teach children anything other than frustration and demoralization, any teacher or school that uses this program has a lot of soul-searching to do they're doing more harm than they know
