I subscribed to this service for four months for my teenage daughter. We filled out the profile to indicate she is only interested in makeup samples, not skincare. In the four months we received bags, she got NUMEROUS repeat products, and there was occasionally ONE makeup item per bag. Three out of four orders had missing items. The price is also deceiving as they claim it is $13 per month but add several fees that make it about $18 per month. The size of most of these skincare items are so small they should have been FREE, and besides a 13 year old should not be using retinol eye creams (which we received THREE TIMES!) and other adult anti aging products. The whole point of this service is to customize to what is appropriate for the user- yeah they don't even look at that. What a total waste. Customer care also a joke. Had to take it up with my credit card company.
The good: I've been using ipsy for over 4 years. I enjoy receiving my bag every month. Here and there, I don't like some of the products, but that's okay because I signed up to try new things and they can't please everyone. Occasionally some eyeshadow comes cracked, but I assume that happens in shipping and don't blame ipsy. I find a lot of value in the full size products that I get and actually like, because sometimes when you break it down, you're paying $5 for a luxury $155 face cream, etc.
The bad: The app is terrible and hasn't been updated in years, that I've found. When you order products through the app, it crashes a lot and you have to start over. There is no "back" button so if you take a wrong turn when perusing the app, you need to go back to the home page and start again. When you actually are successful, the shipping costs are very expensive and take a long time in processing and shipping.
The worst: They don't publish any customer support phone numbers or emails. On the app, it says to contact them on social media, but their facebook messenger account is turned off so you can't contact them. They now have a virtual assistant that doesn't even do anything. It looks like if you have any problems, they are an impenetrable fortress and you're on your own.
I Started With Ipsy Years & Years Ago But Didnt Care For The Travel Sized Items So I Left. I Went On To Boxycharm But They Sent The Same Things Over & Over Again So I Came Back To Ipsy When I Learned Of The Full Product Size. But I've Been Back With Them For 3 Months & In Those 3 Months I've Gotten Barely Any Makeup & All Skin Care Products. And If I Do Get Makeup It's An Eye Liner Or Mascara. This Month No Make Up Items At ALL! What's Up With That Ipsy? Where's The Good Stuff?
Ipsy sent me an email (I used Ipsy back in 2020 so a marketing email) I opened the email and they auto charged my old card on file $164! You can not call anyone so am having to dispute the charge through my bank. Shame on you Ipsy.
Look. The products are great, the options are amazing and the pricing is good. The service is TERRIBLE. My November order (ordered the first week of November) didn't arrive until December 6. Ok fine, essentially your order will be one month behind. BUT when I got my order, it was missing items. However, they don't actually have customer service, they only have bots so you can't actually talk to a human. I would love to continue because of the product options but the lack of service is just too frustrating - there are better trial options out there.
I have had Ipsy for a while now and I am so unhappy! I keep giving them chance after chance and I am so fed up! I have the Glam Bag Plus and the Glam Bab X and all i have to say is that for all the issues that Ipsy has, the memberships are not worth it. Sure, it is nice to try different products but when they come in damaged and missing every shipment, it makes you wonder what is really going on. Then, by the time you get the product ( 2 weeks later) and have a damaged or missing item, they cannot replace the item because they are sold out! Then a day to a week later you will see that same item "they were sold out of" back on the website. Customer service does not listen and barely offers resolution. I wouldn't call it resolution because to me, my problem wasnt resolved. Boxy charm is better but is now owned by Ipsy who is ripping their customers off...I just want a real makeup subscription box that isn't scamming people and knows how to hire the right staff and have their logistics down.
I have ipsy and trying to get rid of it. The customer service number doesn't work and I can't call them.
I have tried 3 times to cancel my subscription at this point and I'm sure I'll have to try more. There is no number for you to call for help with this, there is only a "bot" for you to type a conversation out with -which is frustrating on its own. Anyways, to cancel, they ask you about 4 times if you actually want to cancel before saying that you just need to confirm via email. However, every time I have done this, I haven't gotten an email. I keep checking my email associated with my account and there is never anything from Ipsy. Even after I told the "bot" my situation, there was still no email. And of course, without an email, you cannot cancel, therefore, every month I keep getting charged and sent 5 crappy products from brands I've never heard of with no end it's sight. It is an absolute scam and my bank says the only way to get them to stop is by canceling my card and getting a new one! SUCH an inconvenience it is absolutely ridiculous.
I had a subscription for about 3 years. The quality and service have gone down tremendously. You will start to get leftovers from a year or 2 ago. How long has this product been sitting around? They do not use the personalization you fill out, they merely dump any cheap stuff they have lying around on you. The "choose your item" is a scam to let you down. They don't have it in stock. Just why?
Ordered a glam bag at the beginning of October and shipping was really slow. Now at the end of November I finally received something and it was just one item and it wasn't even the one I picked. Did not receive my glam bag at all.
I ordered my glam bag October 17th, tomorrow is December and still have not received anything. Tracking status has shown its been in NC for a month! There is no phone support only email, no real person to speak to. This company is a joke.how are they around still?!
I used ipsy for a while in 2021, honestly I loved the quality and never had any issues. I re-subscribed in 2022 and it was the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a subscription service. Several products came damaged, customer service was extremely difficult in shipping me replacements. A few of my monthly subscriptions never showed up at all, as well as my replacements for the damaged items. They do NOT give you $$ back. I asked to cancel my subscription immediately after being ran around through customer service and to be refunded for what has not been received/ shipped and they refused any refund at all. I DO NOT recommend Ipsy in the slightest. Spend your money literally anywhere else.
So the first thing about IPSY is that you get things for a cheaper price. I signed up for the tester-sized monthly glam bag($12 dollars a month I think), the experience was okay. I got 5~6 of tester-sized products. Some of them are good and the others are slightly unnecessary. The experience was not as good as I expected it to be but I think it was fine. I don't think you should sign up for glam bags that consist of full-size products because you probably won't need that much stuff. And expect up to 1/3 of the products to be unnecessary.
BUT THEIR INDIVIDUAL PRODUCTS are amazing! They are so cheap on the website IDK why. Overall a positive experience. Definitely recommend!
You should purchase stuff on the IPSY but reconsider the glam bag. Below is one of my fav orders. Great purchase!
WARNING!:
Once you confirm your order there is no way to CANCEL it. EVEN IF YOU JUST PLACED IT!
I switched from boxy charm to see what they have to offer and i went with a year subscription where i pay once a month and they charged me close to $300 dollars. Which makes no sense at all. I am suppose to be payimg 26 dollars a month and i still have to pay that once a month even after they took close to $300 dollars from my account
I've been trying to cancel my subscription, but it is impossible to talk to them and cancel it, and they keep sending stuff that I no longer want and charging my credit card!
I am very unhappy!
I have never experienced worse customer service, and I am a former Sprint customer. You can't really call the "Glam Bot" customer service. There is no real person to speak with and you can only use their suggestive text to express your concerns. I cancelled my subscription on November 1 and was charged twice on November 3. No, Glam Bot, one is not a pending charge. They have both cleared my bank. Do not get caught in the Ipsy trap. The products you receive will never be worth the hassle of trying to cancel your subscription. It. Is.A. Joke.
After having two recent back-to-back issues I have decided to cancel my ipsy subscription. 1st, smashed make up arrived and no way to get in touch with anybody to get it replaced and number 2, with the slip of the finger I
Cannot choose the products I want in my ipsy bag. The ones that were chosen for me from Etsy are nowhere near what I wanted.
I ordered their product on oct. 7, it's been stuck with shipping since the 18th, as of the 2nd of November they would be charging me for a second glam bag, however the first has not yet arrived.
Attempts to rectify have been exhausting with responses from either a bot or a very uncaring representative. You get a repetitive scripted reply and any type of resolution has proven to be imposible.
I purchased a glam bag for $16.13 on October 3rd and I never received it. These people fail to communicate or notify people of when their expected delivery date is. I will never trust this company again and I hope people think twice about doing the same. They are a bunch of rip offs!
Answer: To cancel your subscription, please log in to ipsy.com and click on your profile picture in the upper right corner, then go to the "Subscriptions & Purchases" section to find the cancel button. Youll receive a confirmation via email, so just make sure you're still logged into your account when you open that email and click the link inside to finalize your cancellation. If you have any trouble at all, just email [email protected] and we'd be happy to assist!
Answer: OK well it depends where you live because here in Canada it is $20ish dollars but if you live in the U.S. A then ya it's worth it. The products are really high quality and I havent had any bad products yet. But for me to live in Canada and pay almost $20 dollars, it's kind of pricey. So it really depends on you, where you live and your preferences. Hope this helped
Answer: We offer email support (help.ipsy.com), but if you'd prefer to call, you can leave a voicemail at (888) 769-4526 and a representative will call you back as soon as possible!
Answer: I want to cancel ipsy but my password doesnt work.
Answer: I don't want to use glam bag anymore can y'all please cancel it for me please. Thanks
Answer: Rosi, I have been a subscriber for several months. They send samples of many different brands but not Lime Crime. Here are some of the brands: City Color, trestique, NYX, Luxie brushes, Pacifica, star looks, Bella Pierre, Dermelect, be a bombshell, dls, hey honey, Marc Anthony, Eva nyc, MOR hand creme, Clarks botanicals, Avance, epice, belif creme, REN creme, and peek, and Trust Fund. During the ten months I have been a subscriber, I have only received a handful of high end makeup samples: the Balm, tarte, and smashbox. Some people love ipsy, but my experience has shown me that a lot of times they send me products that I don't like or ones that don't match my "beauty profile". So I will probably cancel soon. The products are not counterfeit, though. If I were you, I would not subscribe to ipsy. Hope that helps! -Heather
