They lock you into contracts that do not cancel, charge you unknown, unexplained and uncancelable charges. The customer service is useless, and even after you cance contracts AND change your domain to a competitor, THEY STILL CHARGE YOU. Horrible company, avoid at all costs! You think you're getting a good deal, but it will cost you money and sanity.

I really really do not recommend this service.
I've ordered a VPS server and waited about 15 hours to get confirmation. When I finally got it, I couldn't access my VPS because it was logging me out every time.
Support said I should wait additional 24-48 hours to review my account again and do some $#*! idc.

There are many alternatives, don't waste your time on this. Have a great day.

I asked them to host website. They removed website because l didn't pay 10.94.l never received email Now it will cost 2,500 to replace it. This is a very vindictive company.

I filed a critical review. I received an answer from Corrie IONOS. He told me to reply to the email directly but gave not receive an email. He said'' we'd love to make to make this right for you! '' In August 2022, we chatted with IONUS. We told them to keep the website. They claimed that I did not pay a website hosting for $10.94 which was invoiced so they cancelled the website. I claimed that l never received the email invoice. I had been a good customer for more than 10 years. Now I will have to pay $2,500 to restore the website. If you receive a reply from Corrie stating IONUS wants to make it right, please ignore it because this company is vindictive

This is the worst and most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. They blocked my contract and sites without any explanation, didn't provide any notes and haven't answered my questions for more than 20 days. Chat with the support and telephone conversations with the support and security service lead to nothing. All they say is "Wait". Avoid this company!

The first thing IONOS requires is for you to check to see if your domain name is available, before you can check out, the domain name is gone and held for ransom. I had the same domain name for 25 years and wanted to port my web hosting to a less expensive alternative. IONOS won't own up to the insecurity of their website, either that or they have an arrangement with Namecheap.com to tip them off of potential victims to hold a domain name for ransom. Very shady and won't own up to what happened. DO NOT USE!

If you're familiar with sites like GoDaddy for domain registration and renewal (even hosting), then there are certain business practices that you're used to in the modern age.

Working with IONOS is like working with a company from the early 2000s. They will create "contracts" for each purchase you make with them. So, you know that project that you picked up a domain for because that project was going to be great, except you couldn't find the time for it and decided a year later you didn't want to renew?

See the attached image and quote:
"Your contract may remain active and may potentially continue to incur charges."

More like it will remain active and will continue to incur charges. And you're out of luck if you have a hosting contract through them. There is no cancellation. Even if you cancel the domain, they will require you to continue to pay hosting charges through the end of the contract, which will auto-renew unless you call them. (And even then, they will say there is no way to cancel the hosting.) I mean, we live in 2023, where I can spin up a droplet on Digital Ocean whenever and shut it down - also whenever. (Better yet, Digital Ocean gave me my $5.00 back when I DIDN'T use the services for a few months.)

There are tons of better solutions out there. Don't fall for the ~*scam*~ that is IONOS. (I literally had to put a stop on my bank to keep them from charging.)

TLDR; They lock you into long contracts, and continue to nickel and dime you even if you cancel domain registration. Their cheap prices are no so cheap in the long run, and they get their money by locking you into contracts that you can't cancel, unlike other providers.

Becarefull guys they are scammers and support not working. Don't buy nothing from their website really not suggesting guys.

This company is scammer,i loss 12 dollars,there is no any live chat support,and they receive money without any signup,and after that they sent a Email that your order will complete soon.

We had to create a new website when we acquired our business so we went online to cancel this hosting service. First, the option to cancel is VERY hard to locate on their website, Second, to actually cancel you also need to call their 877 number. Third, after 20-30 minutes on hold, you will be connected to a representative who will try to convince you NOT to cancel with any means necessary. Fourth, they may eventually agree to send you the domain transfer code but beware, if they also offer to update your contact info bc that locks your account for an additional 60 days (aka 2 more months of fees charged!) Also check your email to see if the sneaky bastard cancels your cancelation (like mine!) bc if you are lucky enough to get the 60 day hold removed (after multiple very long email complaints!), you will have to log in and cancel AGAIN and then call and wait on hold AGAIN and if you survive the hard sell again, your call will be transferred which will cause you to be on hold for another 10-15 minutes. Ridiculousness!

After almost 1 month of work for my own website. I finally can't enter to edit the website. Everything was working (host, domain, SSL), but I can't enter WordPress to continue editing the website.
I also can't find plugin to edit the product page...
The database was correct too! I checked her about 10 times and other things too!

Spoke to a "Rachelle" via IONOS chat. Did not help very much Felt like I was bothering her. Struggled to get better information on better plans. I moved on to Siteground! Their help is much better!

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH IONOS! Their customer service is next to non-existent and they have a lot of hidden fees. I've been getting charged, FOR ALMOST A YEAR, with fees for services that I don't even use! I've contacted them via emails - but, they DO NOT RESPOND. I've tried to call but no one picks up. Save yourself the hassle! - you're welcome!

It has been about 2 years since my last contract with this company was finalized. However, I received a call from a representative from ionos trying to get me into a "free trial" contract to which I declined several times, I tried not to be rude by hanging the phone and request her to send me an email instead with more information about the offer. 2 minutes later I received an email with contract confirmation lol.
Now I will have to chase them to cancel that contract. Hang up immediately If you receive a call from this mfkrs!

Bad exprince with this site i buyed a rdp through my card and they charged and not replied from phone and they contact via email telling you to they are resolving then suddenly they delete your account and boom you got scam like me so do it fbr crime report against these scam site he will literly scamming with 100k customers

Ionos is a company with fraudulent billing practices.

I signed up for a domain with them with the understanding that the rate would increase from $12 to $150 the next year.

IONOS is supposed to provide 30 day notice before the recurring charge and they did not do so. They charged me $150 and I immediately contacted them to cancel - they did not respond at all.

I filed a PayPal dispute and IONOS lost, so I received a refund. IONOS then decided to go to a collection agency, even though they lost the PayPal case

Sleazy company - stay FAR away
