Insulation Upgrade
July 2, 2022

I used this foil based insulation to cover the peaks of my two main attics and a porch. My first project was the porch and it became clear after starting the install on the ceiling that the product really worked. Just moving my head from under the foil exposed my head to increased heat. This lead me to also do the two attics. I stapled the foil to the rafters ensuring that I had air flow above from the lower vents in the soffett to the roof peak vent. I installed to large air intake grills on both ends of the attic and installed an attic fan to vent the space below the foil. The attics are much cooler in the summer, not mucn the warmer than the outside tempture.

Good product and would buy again.

Awesome product. Easy to install
March 28, 2022

We installed Prodex 10M insulation to our new post frame building after we lost our original one in the Dec 10th tornado that ravaged KY. This one is going to be our temporary home until we get our home rebuilt. We are confident this product will keep us warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Our son also lost his shop in the tornado and is installing Prodex 10M in his new shop also.

Insulating a 120 year old barn
January 17, 2022

I have an A-frame 120+ year old barn in northern Indiana, a large portion of it has a second floor. One of the ceilings is approx. 16-17' off the ground. At some point in time a higher ceiling was installed in the portion that didn't have the second floor, using only 2"x6" boards for support, with plywood over them. I didn't know what the best way to insulate it would be: spray foam, fiberglass, foam board, etc. Fortunately I found Prodex. Using the double layer 10M total plus, I was able to install two layers of insulation in the air space, not only did it give great insulation, but the foil surface makes for huge light reflecting. Easy product for one person to install, but an extra set of hands helps.

Good company to deal with
December 9, 2021

Response to initial enquiry was direct and informative. Material and delivery was as indicated on website. Installation was easy. I tested the thermal efficacy with a thermal gun and it does significantly insulate the garage door on which I installed it. Do be careful, however, on how much you order. Measure carefully. I ended up getting more than I needed, but am using the excess elsewhere.

The two gentlemen at the loading dock were very courteous, respectful, and quick to load me up and get me back on the road. The whole process from ordering on a Tuesday morning and then picking the order up the next day went very smooth. I had a 4 hour drive both ways but was well worth it.

I ordered and installed Prodex 5mm Reflective Insulation 24 inch in a 12x24 foot metal storage building with a wooden frame. The insulation came Federal Express in 4-5 days and was easy to install. I believe it will work well in this construction environment that probably wouldn't be appropriate for fiberglass batting which could suffer with moisture from the Sun on the metal exterior and the cooler temperature difference in the interior.

This company is the absolute worst. I ordered about 1400 sqft of insulation. I asked them about how long to ship. They said I should receive in about 10 days. After weeks with nothing, I contacted the shipping company. They said they never received product to ship. I contacted insulation 4 less they said they found order it would arrive next week. That was a month ago. I contacted the shipping company again and they again confirmed no order had arrived to them. This company took my money and just plain ripped me off. Save yourself and go with a reputable legit company. This operation is fly by night * scam company.

We didn’t know that he hadn’t received his order until we saw his scathing reviews.

Rather than notify us that he didn't receive the insulation, Mr. James Lemmi chose instead to name call, exaggerate and lie on this and other review sites.

We emailed Mr. Lemmi the below evidence that the shipper dropped the ball and we were unaware that he didn’t receive his insulation. We and ask Mr. Lemmi to modify his reviews and complaints to reflect the truth of the matter. Rather than remove the hyperbole, exaggerations and claims of scam, he instead replied: “I don’t care…”

Below is proof that:
We offered him a choice of a full refund or an extra insulation roll added to his order.
The carrier dropped the ball on getting his shipment to him after telling us that they would.

Good morning Kathy,

I've finally gotten an update from Estes on this. Unfortunately they are advising this shipment was not located as they originally reported and this is still missing. At this point it would be best to file a claim on this. I do apologize. Do you have the information on how to file a claim?

Thank you,

We really like Prodex Insulation4less. We needed it on a tight schedule and they came through. We installed it under the new metal roof of our house. The first thing we noticed was we could hear our tv during a heavy rain. It helped us with our energy bills both is the summer and winter.

Thanks again Gary

Great Product
November 5, 2021

Prodex is flexible and easy to work with. I put it in my garage and pole barn. I also did a temperature check before and after install like some of the videos I saw on the insulation4less website – It all checks out. It's good stuff. I filled out their online form. They emailed a product recommendation, tech sheet, and links to articles and install methods. It was a little out of my comfort zone at first because I'm used to gabbing with people on the phone. I got it in about a week.

How can Prodex M10 (. 4 inch thick, rated at R17) closed cell foam have as good of thermal insulation as 3" polystyrene board, impossible. I asked for proof or test results and all I got was a smart $#*!, rude kid who refused to call me and was destined to make me the bad guy. If you look at their Tec sheet they test with a 9.25" air space! Try and find a customer service phone number! I paid $300 for shipping UPS for Houston to Asheville, "with discount", for two 341sf rolls 4 ft by 2.5 ft dia! What a rip off. The under concrete tape for $20 a roll is lower grade than most packaging tapes. A++ BBB how?

You have to wonder about the motive of this person to post this review:

He purchased the wrong product for his application.
We specifically recommended a different product (Prodex Under Concrete).
He ignored our recommendation.
He posted propaganda from our competitors.
He complained about the tape which was not designed for the product he bought.
He characterized his communications with us as: “ all I got was a smart ass, rude kid who refused to call me and was destined to make me the bad guy.”

Below you’ll find our email to him. We’ll let you be the judge of it all:

I4L message to Mr. Bradford Shupe:

In an effort to understand how you could misuse the product, mischaracterize our responses, misrepresent our products, company and charges, we’ve copied the communications below. We’d like you to explain to us how you can get from what’s written below to what you’ve posted on Site Jabber.

I was thinking of using one of your products under concrete below radiant hot water pex tubing. So the layers would be; gravel, vapor barrier, INSULATION, tubing and concrete. 24' X 24'.

Recommended insulation for under concrete: Prodex Total Under Concrete Insulation

Do you have some proof your. 4 inch insulation is R22? It seems to defy the laws of physics

Monday, October 11,2021 at 2:38 PM I4L response:

Attached is technical brochure. It provides the parameters of the testing. Do you have such comprehensive information on the testing of the fiberglass insulation in your house? Please provide “proof” with the parameters of its test of the stated R-value.
See: Reflective Insulation - Measuring Its R-value vs Fiberglass: https://www.insulation4less.com/reflective-insulation-measuring-its-r-value-vs-fiberglass

In regards to shipping you wrote: “What a rip off.”

Shippers base pricing on the roll SIZE and classification! Shipping size: 4 ft. X 24 in. X 24 in., 33 lbs. Class 300 insulation, non-boxed, non-skidded, loose rolls shipped from zip 77029. Call any shipper and provided the above information and you’ll be quoted MORE than we changed you. Secondly, the charges were displayed in FULL prior you your confirming the order.

You wrote”: “How can Prodex M10 (. 4 inch thick, rated at R17)…”

We DON’T’ specify an R-value for your under concrete application.
Concrete can have a reaction to foil; therefore we DON’T recommended 10M for that application.
The under concrete tape you referenced is not designed for use with the 10M product.
We provided you the parameters of the testing; therefore you KNOW!

See: Measuring R-value “The parameters of the R-value test for fiberglass and cellulose insulation involve no moisture or wind. You might be saying, "That's ridiculous. That can't be. Those aren't the conditions of my home or building."
Even in the desert there is humidity. All buildings and houses leak air and water. Water vapor from the atmosphere, showers, cooking and even breathing move back and forth through the walls and ceiling. Those of you in humid areas may lose half of your R-value with fiberglass or cellulose insulation.

Fiberglass is assigned an R-value of 3 to 3.5 per inch. Remember it will only achieve this number in a zero moisture and zero wind environment. Fiber insulation placed in an improperly sealed house will allow wind to blow through it as if there were no insulation at all. In the event of flooding the R-value goes to zero. Even small amounts of moisture will cause a dramatic drop in fiberglass and cellulose insulation's R-value. The question you should ask Mr. Or Ms. Fiberglass and Cellulose is, "What is your R-value in my real-world environment?

U.S. Department of Energy: "The R-value of some insulations also depends on... moisture accumulation."

You wrote: A++ BBB how?

The BBB takes into account the amount of purchases vs complaints in its formulation of a company’s rating. The BBB remains the most trusted rating company in the USA. Our A+ rating speaks for itself.

In our opinion, you’ve been fooled by sheep in wools clothing – Online pitchmen disguised as energy experts.

What a bunch of idiots. Honestly how they are still in business is beyond me. They charge high amounts for shipping then hide behind their terms and conditions you have no choice to opt out of in order to place an order. Fed Ex decides it is much easier to remove a package from their truck than to try and deliver it because they did not think I would be available to receive it. This is after 4 day of delays that were Fed Ex's fault. I would highly recommend purchasing products elsewhere. My business partner found them online and while the first order was delayed it did not cause much grief. The second order for what should have been realitively easy since it was 2 boxes of adhesive which had to be shipped seperately for some reason resulting in much higher shipping costs was screwed up from the begining by Fed Ex. I had multiple delivery date changes and finally once the package was on the truck to be delivered it was then removed from the truck because they thought I would not be available. Instead of Insulation4Less being progressive about there shippers responsibility and trying to make things right they chose to just be captain obvious and state that I agreed to the terms and conditions when I placed my order that they were not responsible for the shippers delays. WELL GUESS WHAT THE SHIPPER COST YOU FUTURE BUSINESS AS I WILL NOW BUY MY PRODUCTS ELSEWHERE.
