You get very little information with the trial subscription. I did not purchase an advanced sub. Why should I? The trial should demonstrate what information you would get with a more expensive sub. If the trial I bought did demonstrate what you would get, then there is no reason to spend more money. All I got with a license plate lookup was carfax info.

Deceptive advertising.

The website does not accurately market what services are actually provided. And the tiered subscription model is not disclosed prior to payment. After the initial payment, the website attempts to sell a "premium report" that purportedly contains the information you seek. And upon paying for that "premium report," it does not contain -any- helpful information.

Don't waste your time or money

If I could give this zero stars, I would. Got a random recall notice for a car I've never owned, InfoTracer claimed their info would help me make sure nobody has registered a car in my name without my knowledge. Nope. The info they gave me for the "intro" price was exactly what was available for free elsewhere. They wanted a premium upgrade fee to get additional info, and in my search I learned that the information I sought is actually NOT available for anyone except insurance companies and the police.

Excellent Customer Service

Overall, my experience with the site itself wasn't the best, but customer service went above and beyond to make up for it. I only dealt with the experience as a whole for 25 minutes or so, both in my own browsing and searching for information, and rectifying the situation (to follow) with customer support.

I had a suspicious person sitting outside of my home for about 15mins before I arrived, to which they promptly left. I snagged a photo of their license plate and did a quick Google search in an attempt to find the person's identity, which led me to InfoTracer.

I was a bit mislead into believing the information would come free, which turned into a $3 charge for the deeper insight. This required a lawful reason to search the information, which I was able to find as it was due to personal and home security. It told me all about the specs of the vehicle, which I was a bit annoyed with, and that there were 4 owners of the vehicle (1 current and 3 previous). To get that information it required another $15 — which at this point I was committed, so I proceeded. Unfortunately it then told me the data wasn't available and that I should contact the local MVA for more information regarding the owner.

I was quite furious that I was duped into two charges for no information other than the make/model of the vehicle, which I could have easily found out on my own. So I quickly contacted Customer Support.

A woman named Darlene helped me see if they could get the actual information I was looking for, and then refunded me all the charges (and cancelled my subscription to avoid the $30 charge that would happen after 7 days). Super thankful; it wasn't a total headache and realistically didn't cost me much time or any money. So I am happy enough.
