Waste of Time
October 4, 2015

I have applied for many jobs on indeed and not one phone call back. I have actually gone out and contacted the companies via phone call (the old fashioned way) and received a job like that. The companies NEVER even looked at my app on indeed. The only companies that did were the commission only jobs...! I wouldn't waste my time with this website EVER again.

REMOVE OUTDATED
October 3, 2015

Several times Indeed has emailed me "new" job postings I might be interested in only to find they OFTEN don't even apply to my interests. A few times Recruiters contacted me having seen my resume on Indeed, but so far I haven't received anything worth looking into or I've come to find an engaging description has been posted for months and likely filled already.
My recommendation? Sure, look through the jobs posted, but if you really want to know if it's even still open, go to the actual Website of the employer and apply there.

Indeed.com is a scam
September 27, 2015

I have applied to over 100 jobs through indeed.com, and only got one email from a employer! I believe indeed.com waits a month before posting jobs for employers. This website should be SHUT DOWN & FINED for wasting people's time.

Horrible Scam
September 22, 2015

This is my second try at indeed.com and I am reminded of the saying: "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." In literally less than an hour, I lost $140 on totally sham and inappropriate responses. Stay away! I wish I had.

Totally uneffective
September 20, 2015

Posting your resume or even applying for a job posted on Indeed is a waste of time. Have talked to 3 prospective employers and all three said they never received a resume but just a name from Indeed. My advice, look for work on Indeed but do not complete the process but rather submit your resume by other means either through another hiring agency or directly to the company. This is how I got my job and this is also how I learned of Indeed's incompetence.

I am a sole trader business customer, and after being offered 20-30 very unqualified candidates was charged over £600! At supposedly 25p per click, This is unacceptable and endangers my private affairs (rent payments etc)

VERY unhappy and wondering if I have a legal recourse to action.

We provided a full refund for the overspend of the position past the intended spend of £20. This client agreed that this resolution was satisfactory to him. The response from the client after receiving the refund was "Thank you for resolving this fully. I am more than willing to add this positive experience to my review, which I have to admit is a considerably better result than I was expecting."

Job hunting is sometimes stressful, but Indeed.com sometimes has a couple of potential jobs that I can apply for (but never get). It is very limited in the amount of "jobs" and recruits more for volunteerism or internships. Not at all what they state they are!

I am a business employer. I used these guys for two months and I posted what I wanted for prospective candidates. I got nothing near what I asked for and ended up getting charged for every non-viable candidate. Now I am attempting to get my money back and they are playing around with me. I have asked all my associates not to use them either before they get ripped off as well. Don't waste your time.

Good but bad.
September 6, 2015

I liked indeed because it told me who was hiring in the area and for what, but I applied to literally 200 jobs and I didn't hear from one. I got aggravated and just went basically knocking on doors and I got a job that very day. I start next week. I've also canceled their emails multiple times and I keep receiving emails... I'm not going to bash them but I did waste a whole month of my time and energy and now it's just aggravating. You could still apply on indeed.com but I would make a list of who I applied to and go meet them myself and shake a few hands. Let it be known you're a real person and you need employment. Otherwise, be prepared for the waiting game.

No Value
September 4, 2015

We were enticed into placing an ad for professional staff with the offer of $50 free advertising. Instead we ended up with over $900 in charges and NOT A SINGLE qualified applicant for either of our jobs. I was very specific about the required credentials in the ad and still received 'clicks' from people who met none of the requirements. There should be a way to challenge how their algorithms target recipients for click through ads as I clearly never reached any portion of our target audience. Worse, when the first full month bill of $503.08 arrived I went in and tried to pause/delete the ads. Apparently their system is not as user friendly as they state and we received another $350+ in charges. Needless to say we will not be using Indeed again and would not recommend it to any professional business. Buyer beware - and avoid.

9/22/15 Update - After I posed this review Dorit from Indeed did contact me and verify that my account showed our attempt to pause/delete our ad and that I had not been back on site until the next bill came. She did give us a partial refund and offer us future credit to give them another chance. Haven't determined if we are going to do that or not but although their initial customer services was unresponsive I will say that she was helpful and reasonable to work with. So we did get closure.

Very deceptive billing where you thought it was $0.25/click by job seekers but they billed at $5/day.

As a recruiter, I have been using Indeed.com to post open positions. They have now flagged my account as fraudulent so I can longer post using their free services. If I want to post, I still can (even though I am apparently fraudulent) as long as I pay. If I am a fraudulent account, I should not be allowed on their site. Instead, they just want more money.

Gotta be savvy.
August 29, 2015

I have used indeed many times and I love that it helps me keep track of jobs that I have posted to already. Granted many of the postings for my industry are for recruiters but many of these recruiters have gotten me interviews. Right now I am doing generally 2 interviews a day for the past 2 weeks and it is not letting up.

But you have to be smart about it.

1) If you get a call from someone who barely speaks English, then do you want this person talking to a company for you.

2) Apply to jobs that you may not seem 100% qualified for by the description. Many of these are written by HR and do not really reflect the need.

3) Apply apply apply... As of right now I have sent out 231 resumes in 3 weeks using indeed. It really is not that difficult to apply to positions if you organize everything to be able to be cut and pasted. Sometimes its a pain in the butt but once you take care of the backlog from starting then all you have to do is post for new jobs as they pop up.

4) Try not to be desperate. When I started looking I was running low on money so it was important that I get into something soon. It was a mess. After two months I got a few contract gigs and since my lease was up I moved in with family. This was a strategic maneuver not everyone can do but it really changed the playing field. The jobs I am interviewing for now pay twice what those did for better companies. I also have the freedom to say "not interested." which I have done to some jobs that I can already tell from the interview are going to be unpleasant.

5) Watch out for depression. Many job seekers will go through a severe depression. Some may even need to be hospitalized. Don't freak out this is totally normal. Medication is great these days and can really help. Some is actually very affordable. And when you do get a job and are back on your feet you can stop taking it.

6) Do not isolate.

Remember its just a game. Indeed.com is just a space on the board you can move your piece into to help find more options.

I wouldn't be surprised if the resumes that they send you are just fake resumes that the company drafts on their own. They charge your card without your authorization and they continue to do say for months and months. Their customer service is HORRIBLE. Just stay away. Use craigslist.

This site seems to be nothing but a data mining site that likely sell your information. I never received any replies to any jobs I applied for and I am very qualified and have a good resume. The jobs are either old or bogus. The only replies I ever got were from jobs found through other sources. My advice is to not waste your time in Indeed.com or indeed.ca

I tried indeed for a while then I got wise when I got no responses... I doubled back on their new listings, checking with the actual company websites for the companies they claimed were hiring. Turned out most WERE NOT HIRING, positions listed were not open. Old listings and listings pulled from other websites.
There is big $$$ in sites selling your email addresses and phone numbers and that is what most of these job search sites are!

Used Indeed dot com for over one month for sending resumes to prospective employers. A total of 40 + resumes sent to so called employers looking for help but not one single reply... from any of them. I should have read the reviews first and taken some time to investigate this crummy site.
It looks legit from a distance but as time went by it was clear that not any of my resumes made it to the employer. I switched from this cheesy site to a more respectable one and had instant results.
Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this fraudulent site. It will just waste your precious time.

As an employer who posted a position on the site I was totally dissatisfied. We received no candidate that even remotely matched the job description listed. When I asked to have the account deleted, I was told they will only "deactivate" the account, which essentially continues to store my company information and our credit card details. When I requested to escalate the complaint I was told told to have my lawyer write a letter and was given an address in Austin to do so.

Stay away, there is no integrity here.
