I'm not sure if it is how we wrote the ad, but we are getting a lot of responses that have no qualities that we are looking for. Although we are getting a ton of responses I feel that 95% are wrong for us and all it is doing is wasting time. I haven't given up yet though.
Inundated with time wasters who weren't even close to being qualified. Most candidates failed to answer my two qualifying questions correctly but still wasted my time by submitting their CV's. Service needs improving.
I won't use it again as rejecting time-wasters is a wind up and Indeed should reject these people for me.
Were sorry to hear that you did not receive qualified candidates on Indeed. If there is anything that we can do to help, please reach out to us at [email protected].
I found Indeed to be easy to use, but somewhat limited. We did get a good response to our ad. I would suggest you increase the employer's options by allowing us to give a rating to each employee we review. (Even a 1 to 10 rating scale would help.) This would aid quickly evaluating many applicants at one time. Also, the options to reflect an employee only as "Reviewed", Phone Screened, Rejected or Hired is a little limiting. A couple of other status options like: Contacted Employee or Awaiting Information or Interview Scheduled woulc help.
I liked the managing tool. The cost is also reasonable. The reason why I did not rate 5 is that the number of "good" resumes did not seem to increase even after I "sponsored".
Ridiculous cancellation procedure and excessive charging
Hi Brendan, sorry that you've had a poor experience using Indeed. If there is anything we can do to make it better, please reach out to us at [email protected]. Thank you.
The site works great, however I received to many applications that simply did not meet the minimum qualifications that I had established. It became difficult to quickly screen the resumes.
I was told repeatedly that Indeed was the way to go to find quality applicants. What I got, though, were applicants who didn't even seem to read the adds. We were looking (clearly repeated throughout our add) for someone with years of progressive industry experience who was local and licensed in the industry. What we got were inexperienced (and even college students), unlicensed people with little if any industry experience.
My customer service rep, however, was very receptive to my concerns offering to look my add over to see how I could improve my chances at attracting who I needed. He indicated that some folks just don't bother to read the add. Anyway, I was thankful that customer service wasn't a nightmare and he genuinely seemed to care.
Another note, the site seems to be geared not so much for the employer in that the input format doesn't allow for variables like salary RANGES.
Hello Dee, we're sorry for the poor experience with advertising on Indeed. We'd be happy to provide suggestions to improve your candidate quality. We also appreciate your feedback on salary ranges and will provide this to our product team. Please email us directly at [email protected] with your Indeed account email address so that we can help. Thank you.
I have sourced a few hires from Indeed, the site definitely allows for a good source of talent. It is a little difficult to filter through all of the applicants though. There also seems to be a lot of people who apply that do not fit the criteria, but that will inevitably happen and is the job of HR/hiring managers to identify good candidates from here.
I liked that fact that we can read resumes. I disliked that there are too many very old resumes that really don't apply. I would like it if these resumes were removed if the people were no longer looking for a job. I did receive 11 resumes and not one of them had any qualifications required for the job and more than half were not even for the field we were hiring for. By looking at resumes we found people to contact but none of the resumes were current. I like the system but feel like it is lacking. I guess it is just timing as well. The pricing is also not bad.
We were provided with quite a few resumes and were able to hire someone. How the pricing of the resumes works is confusing
We only received 3 applications and only 2 of them where qualified for the position listed.
Hello Linda, we'd be happy to review your position and offer suggestions for improvement. Please email us at [email protected] with your Indeed account e-mail address so we can assist here. Thank you.
I feel like we have payed for little or no service. Very few applicants were sent to us for review and the ones that were sent were not even relevant to work in our industry.
Please read and review the ad for work requirements, and resumes for work relevance and provide a good match.
Hi Viper, we're sorry for the poor service experience. We'd like to look into this further and help improve your results. Please reach out to us at [email protected] with your Indeed account email address and we'd be happy to assist you. Thank you.
We received many, many responses to our ad but so many of the responding applicants have nothing close to the qualifications we are looking for. Seems like this may be a way they are satisfying their unemployment contact requirements. Only a very few are worthy of interviewing
No bad experience. Indeed was very good and reliable source in looking for employees.
It was easy and quick to sift through the applications and stay organized on top of it all.
I have used Indeed as a job seeker and as a recruiter. I loved it in the early days, and still love it now!
Received many applications that did not meet the criteria established as minimum qualifications. Apparently there are no filters built into the system.
Received several good applicants that did not respond to other sites/methods.
Pretty good experience, I wanted more local candidates but when we previously posted clicking "local candidates", the wording from Indeed sounded very discriminatory so I didn't want to use it.
She was able to make sure everything was correct on my job post

Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
