Did the local drop off but had the pics mailed back, no problems. Great quality, turned very small pics into good sized photos, handled panoramics, slides, 8x11s, thanks!
Everything was easy and I enjoyed receiving everything back in a timely manner
Very easy to get started. I had some questions, called the help desk and they were answer throughly. You get notification to ensure that your items arrived safely and then more notifications as the process starts and its progress. You get to see the results as they are processed. My only issue was that some of the 45mm slides and some old pictures appeared more blurry than the original.
My husband had passed away when my daughters were children and now they have the memories to look back on, instead of a VHS system they can use their phones or computers
I was pleased with the service and the quick turn around. I will use them again.
Some of my videos are so bad in quality that I can hardly see them. Others have no sound.
Should I have to pay full price?
I am delighted to get the memories done (old mini dvr tapes), and the final product seems good.
However, the website experience for imemories is pretty rough... very slow, many times cannot login (just fails for no reason), not informative enough on status (the main status of in production takes very long and doesn't give any reason for why it takes so long).
Order process is very easy, as IMemories will send you a box and waterproof bags to send in whatever media (slides, negatives, photos, home movies, vhs) you want. Just drop the box off at FedEx and it's on its way. And their frequent 50% off promos are great. Scanned images from slides and negatives look great, some old home movies were cut off at the top and I know that's not how they were filmed as I've watched them before.
Biggest complaints:
1. They organize the media in folders when scanning, such as 1 folder per slide tray or vhs tape, but there doesn't seem to be any way to move items from one folder to another, either on their website or in the app.
2. No way to change the date on a group of items. Date listed is always when it was scanned, even if the media clearly had a date marked on it.
3. No way to manually list who's in each photo or video, choosing names from a list like you can do in google Photos, iPhotos, or the other app I used previously called Memorable. Along with that, there's no facial recognition to identify who's in given photos or videos.
4. Although iMemories has a Roku app, it's limited functionality.
5. If you share a folder with someone, they'll receive a link to view it on the website, but CANNOT add the file to their own folders assuming they have an iMemories account (as can be done in Google Photos or iPhotos), nor is there any way for them to view it on the Roku app, add comments, like photos, etc.
6. IMemories does NOT scan the back of photos (as Memorable did), so if names or locations are handwritten on the back, too bad.
Being able to see my relatives that have passed away is priceless! Thanks!
My husband passed away in February 2023 and hearing his voice and seeing him on the videos has helped so very much with our grief. I sent in 3 VHS and 5 8mm tapes. We were married in 1987 and the oldest tape was from 1988. Many memories for our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to cherish forever. Viewing and sharing is very easy.
This was a great way to see old home movies! I wanted to do something nice for my brother, but I think I ended up enjoying it just as much as he did. To see our parents young was a great gift for myself!
It's great being able to view my videos online. I wish you didn't have to buy monthly or annual membership though to be able to share them.
But I'm enjoying them.
Sent in my parents old 8mm films and a box of slides. Very professional work to digitize. Quite happy with their service. All my originals sent back undamaged. Good Job guys!
Very happy with service. It was very timely and kept me informed.
The tapes that I sent were viewed on my machine before I sent them in. They were not that much different from what I sent in still have lines running through the video not at all what I expected. What was restored?
My son introduced us to iMemories with a gift for Christmas 2022. We received the prepackaged box and sent our old vhs videos. What we received back was amazing digital format that we can now share with family and friends.
I don't usually write reviews but for this one I have to. I had a great experience with this company. The process is seamless, sent videos/pictures and in a few weeks was able to re-live, at times, forgotten memories. My adult daughters are thrill to see us as young people and themselves as kids. I got my media back fairly quick. Will definitely recommend
