In NY you have 30 days to finish. There are no exceptions, even 24 hours. If you don't finish, you have to pay for course again and start from beginning. This is a ridiculous requirement for those of who work and live busy lives.

Second, the course is way too long. You have no idea how long 8 hours of your time will be until you take this course. Torture!

Third, they use a 3rd party vendor for their voice recognition. Background noise, phone connection, pretty much anything can affect the test. Fail the authentication twice and they will make you start the test from beginning.

A joke!
January 24, 2016

I took the adult driving course and it was fine. I had no problems with voice recognition or any of that... a year ago. I have been trying to get my certificate for an entire year! Every time I get in touch with customer service, they get it "worked out" and tell me I should be receiving it within a few business days, then a week later I get a email stating "your certificate was returned to us!" The first time I even had to pay an extra $10 to get my address changed because THEY messed it up! I have moved since taking the course and they can not seem to get the correct address with the correct apartment number! It's either the new address with the old apartment number, or it's the other way around! It's like they are on purposely switching up my address! IT HAS BEEN AN ENTIRE YEAR! I'm starting to think I will never get my certificate and this course was a waste of money!

Hate it!
January 5, 2016

I was at the last Unit (8), 2 modules away from finishing the course when their voice authentication system failed to recognize me again and made me start over! I have been calling from the same phone, same room. I am soooo angry. Who has time for this crap? I've been working on it 3 days and stayed up late last night to try to finish it and then this. I left them a voice mail and sent them an email but, judging from the experience of others I doubt I'll get any help. I will call my bank and report the transaction as a fraud.

Bad Course
January 5, 2016

This is one of the most stupid courses I've ever encountered in my whole entire life. It takes way longer than it was supposed to. The question validations and voice authentication are made to purposely fail you. I do not recommend this course, expensive and irrelevant.

I signed up with idrivesafely before I checked any reviews. After reading all the bad reviews, I was worried that I won't be able to finish the course. The course is flawless & easy to finish. The voice verification system is kind of unnecessary. If you can't finish this course then its your own fault, you did something wrong. There is no final exam if you do good on each quiz after every chapter. At the end If you give them a like, they will rush the process of the application for free. Good luck.

Terrible class. Voice recognition is a joke, especially for a 15 year old teen that's voice is changing. I had my money refunded after 3 hours of the course with voice authentication not working. Teendrivingcourse.com is much better. No hassle at all

Go ANYWHERE else
November 11, 2015

You have to have them FAX a code to the testing center. You have to call them to get them to do this - I say on hold for over an hour three separate times and NEVER spoke to a person! Impossible, then, to take the exam. These guys SUCK and should be run out of business!

ABSOLUTELY WORTLESS!
November 10, 2015

After almost a month of calling (and sitting on hold for 20-30 minutes every time) and emailing (goes to nowhere) trying to get my course to start I finally gave up. Had to file for an extension on my court date so I could find another online course and actually get it done. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS SITE!

I had to switch to from the video version (did not finish watching all chapters or taking
The last chapter test) because it was poorly designed for learning. After I switched to the text version Customer Service told me last week that I had failed the final test after several
Attempts. I NEVER TOOK A FINAL before NOR COULD I OPEN THE FINAL EXAM TONIGHT. I asked for correction this misinformation last week & was told it was removed & I was OK to proceed. But Tonight when I then attempted for the first time to take the final, a page came up stating I had failed several times & would have to pay again. Customer service could not correct this & I left a voicemail on an anonymous " specialist's" line stating my problem & asking for a callback.
But will I get a callback?. Last week I left a voicemail on a supervisor's voicemail asking for a callback between business hours PST & no callback or message
Occurred. If this is not fixed by the end of business day tomorrow, I will seek help through
The Ca. Dept. Insurance Consumer Complaint Bureau & Auto Club who sponsors this site.
Do not use this company. A big waste of time/money without solving the traffic school problem.

Got Me $#*!ed Up!
November 2, 2015

I am a college student that CANNOT afford to be wasting any money. So they locked my account when i was almost done and i called customer service i was irritated on hold for 20 minutes. Than while waiting i typed in looking for reviews on why the hell i was on hold for so long. I came across all these bad reviews and IMMEDIATELY called my bank for the fraud prevention program and cancelled to get my money back. It was $27 but $27 i could not afford to just be wasting on stupid bull$#*! fraud websites. STAY AWAY

First of all for Illinois it was not cheap at all, mine was a waste of $100. I never get a called back from their "supervisor" straight to voicemail ITS A JOKE. All the humans can't help you they can only transfer you to voicemail. I know how to drive and this course asks the most horribly worded questions, says its okay to pull out in front of a truck as long as you signal. The worst part about it is the voice recognition $#*! that doesn't work at all and failed me and took me back to the very beginning of the course even though I was on the last unit. I will be contacting next for a refund and I'd rather pay for my court fines that take this class again. Like I said I think they purposefully want you to fail, and re-take the class. Also in the 8th unit the link is broken after a question and won't let you proceed I had to wait 3 days before I finally found someone who knew how to advance me and skip past the unit.

Frustrating
October 26, 2015

Glitches in the program cause frustration and then you can't get anyone to respond to emails for help. Calling the 24/7 line is even worse if you want to speak with a human... hold times are really, really long and the hold music will drive you crazy.

I paid for it and started it the next day, I set up my voice verification and got through the first few chapters fine, when I called to verified it was me taking the course it kept saying error (as in not my voice) I called and they did nothing but tell me to keep trying which eventually locked my account. Then it tried charging me twice! Unbelievable. When I called to complained the first person hanged up on me, the second did help but told me I was gonna have to start the course again, not worth $37, might as well pay $47 and got better service.
