Do not use this company! First off, know that if they offer to let you purchase downloadable a certificate of completion, that it's actually a ridiculous piece of paper that says "for your personal records only, not to be used in court." Their website is really misleading so I paid extra for the certificate thinking I could take it to court with me to show the judge I completed the course. Had i known it was some ridiculous certificate only for my records, I wouldn't have wasted the extra money.
Second, I hope that you don't have any problems with anything, because they are IMPOSSIBLE to reach. Their email form says that if you email them you'll get a response within 24 hours, but I emailed them last week and still have had no response.
Which leads me to my third point, don't bother calling their customer service number. Their stupid automated system is a waste of time and it's impossible to speak to anyone. I ended up getting disconnected because it asked me to enter the abbreviation for the state I was calling from and it didn't seem to recognize that Wisconsin was a state. I tried 3 times, so it was definitely not operator error. Eventually, I ended up talking to someone, only after calling and pretending to want to purchase a course, so unless you're going to give them money they don't want to hear from you.
Please don't waste your time and money by taking these courses from this company!

This driver course is the absolute worst. Aside from being boring, you'll be forced to rewatch a video if you do not answer a highly specific question correctly. The voice verification system is crap because I was constantly told that my voice was not recognized. I hate this course so much. It is the absolute worst.
I am very sorry to hear that you had issues with the state-mandated and -regulated voice verification system and the post-video authentication questions which are also mandated by the state. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE. IT IS A DAMN RIPOFF. I WAITED WEEKS, BUT NEVER GOT MY COURSE COMPLETION CERTIFICATE. Doesnt say to complete in 30 days until after, and you have to repay for everything. The worst experience of my life. This will NOT succeed if they run it like this.
I'm sorry that you had issues receiving your certificate and with the state-imposed 30 day deadline, which was included in the Terms & Conditions for your course that you would have needed to read and agree to in order to complete registration. If you would please email your account information to [email protected], I will be happy to provide you a link to the Terms & Conditions for you to re-read and look into your certificate status.
They'll nickel and dime ya to death! You have 120 days to complete your course or they will charge you $20 to reactivate your course. If you request any additional certificate for ie; for your insurance discount they will charge you $10 for mail (. 5-7 business days) or an additional charge of $8.95 for an email. I'm surprise they don't charge for customer/tech support. Don't know about you but that just annoyes the heck out of me. The course itself is ok. It has a timer for each page so it's not go at your own pace. If your a fast reader this isn't for you because will have to wait until the timer is up before you can move to the next page.

1) First problem was signing up for correct course. Website was unclear and the course I registered for was different from the one o paid for.
2) getting in touch with a customer service rep was next to impossible at the beginning of this year. It took a week to resolve the problem. Would leave messages with no call back.
3) Son had frequent issues with varification. Slowed coursework down and lengthened time it took to complete.
4) last 2 units he was unable to access. Had better luck contacting for technical help who first said it was an error in their end and would be corrected by end of day. When problem continued I later called and was told, "no our techs are not going to get to it til Monday." I explained that we had limited time for son to take test. Was told "just call back when completed and ask for an expedited certificate." Ok. Fine.
Website was fixed on Monday. Son completed coursework. I called an hour later to ask for an expedited certificate and explained our family situation and the delay with the site error. Was told " we can't expedite any certificates. They have to be shipped by US regular mail."
This is not what i was told by previous " "supervisor". There was no option to send or expedite certificate even though I had discussed issue with another supervisor just 2 days before - AND what the supervisor told me was apparently documented in their records.
So very disgusted with this company. The only reason why I did not rate it a 1 was because at least someone answered the phones and documented each call I made. But that does not do customers any good if even the "supervisors" are giving wrong information. This situation will delay my son from getting his permit by almost 3 months.
I regret working with this company.
The cutscenes in between the actual information are incredibly useless and very annoying. I questioned at times whether I was watching Disney Channel or trying to do traffic school. The testimonials in the program are completely unbelievable at times and I'm fairly sure half of them are made up. The voice authentification service is absolute $#*!. Really hated every second of the damn program.
My experience is bad with idrivesafely.com
1- IT USES FLASH. Flash is a very old technology, not all browsers and mobile phone include it. I had hard time getting the course running on my phone.
2- The course material is old, it's not consistent, some animation, some videos taken from documentary, some from very old material dated back to 2007 and older.
3-You cannot move to the right video you have reached to, you have to manually skip forward to reach your sub section chapter video.
4- Some videos ends, but still you cannot move forward until the timer hits 0! Which makes my just wait for around 80 seconds after the vid ends for nothing.
5- After each chapter there's a quiz of around 10 multiple choices questions, after you submit your answers you get your score and which question you answered wrongly, but they don't show you what is the supposed correct answer. So what is the purpose of learning.
6- Course material are dull and very boring. The narrator voice keep changing person and the picture of the video stays still not reflecting what the narrator is talking about. E.g. He was talking about some traffic sign and the video showed only few of them, then the narrator kept talking about other types and the video never showed them, how am I suppose to learn!
If you fail the questions, you need to review the videos or reading from beginning. You will end up wasting hours and hours. Real $#*!!
I regret signing up for I drive safely before reading the reviews. The exact same thing that everyone mentioned with the voice recognition system is happening to me. There's no option for customer service. Seems like a scam! Enjoy my $26, $#*!s!
I don't know what voice recognition system they are using but it's failed me three times and customer service has been everything BUT HELPFUL. I've used IDriveSafely is the past and have done so with no problems at all. However this new "requirement" is ridiculous and absurd. I have to complete this defensive driving corse and this voice authentication system is preventing me from doing so. I'll have to go to the courts to get an extension. Ridiculous.
After reading other reviews I kind of got a little scared but, after all my experience wasn't as close to what the reviews brought out... The voice inspector didn't cause me any problems, the chapters did not freeze or stop and I received my certificate in 3 days which is so awesome. I recommend this site for drivers ed needers.
I did the test last year and got throught it no problem. Idk whats going on but this year the voice authentication check is all kinds of faulty. Cant even recognize the voice that I LITERALLY JUST SETUP with no noise. Ive failed the voice check 3 times now and im on the last chapter. I swear to christ if i fail again im gonna get a fraud claim, get my money back and pursue some legal action against the website
I put over four hours into this course before their voice identification system failed to recognize my voice. Trust me, it was me on the phone - same telephone, same person. But the voice recognition said it was not and they canceled my course when I was nearly done. Its a really messed-up voice recognition system. Lots of people are ripped-off by it. DON'T SIGN UP FOR THIS COURSE, unless you want to waste both your time and money.
After 5 hours into the class (last module) their crappy voice recognition system stopped working - they switched me to the keystoke (why no mention of this earlier?) but said I had to take the whole class over blaming it on NYs law. Escalated the call to someone who would 'get right back' to me who email about 8 hours later that they couldn't do anything.
Complete waste of 5 hours
They take FOREVER to send the certificate and customer service is rude and pretentious. If you DO use them, allow about a month for the certificate to arrive.
How can I fail at my own voice? Please tell me that? I was nearly done and bam wasted my time and it went all the way back to the beginning. I have taken this course before and never did I have this issue. First year I used a land line, second year I used my cell. This year I only have the choice of using my cell. IT FAILED...? For that I'd rather go to a class or find something else. Unbelievable! I don't have time to waste. I am in school full-time and work full-time. I took this so I could do this in spare time and this is what happens? JUST no... How can it fail me for my voice... I still don't get that!
I would not recommend idrivesafely until their voice authentication is fixed or eliminated. I was in the last chapter when I did not pass the voice authentication test and was locked out. Once locked out they will not reset your account and you must start the test from the very beginning. About 7 hours of work were wasted. Unfortunately I found these reviews to late. To be fair I, my comment applies only the New York State edition but I suspect other state editions would be as problematic. FWIW, no apologies were given.

Customer Service reps hung up on me twice. The drawn-out delay in getting to the bottom of an issue, amount of dropped chats, unresponsive emails, disconnected phone calls, and avoidance of speaking to the customer in person is simply not professional, and most importantly, not polite. When submitting a review to the BBB, the company used the tactic of pointing the blame back to the customer which further represents their unwillingness to improve communications internally.

I am very worried that I will not receive my certificate after reading these 'horror' stories. I was on the phone this morning, and they claim they had my wrong address of which I can't prove. My debit card and driver's license have the correct address, they are lying. I paid another 10 dollars for email and now they are claiming that their having email issues with that particular course. I have to wait till 8AM till technicians arrive to fix the problem. This is a rip off and I am so sorry I have to say that after having good experience with the course.
