Very aggravating. It took seven tries to finally get my IP pen number so my tax return would be accepted. It's sad to have to prove I am who I am for the IRS. A sixty year old combat veteran. Just sad it's come to this.

I love that we are pursuing protecting folks from identity theft, way too many people in this country suffer those consequences.
But when you, as a government agency like the IRS, IMPOSES this onto it's users, I would expect for it to work FLAWLESSLY.
Instead, unless you have never moved, changed phone numbers or, God forbid buy a new phone, you will always have trouble logging in with this piece of UTTER JUNK.
HOURS wasted going through the ridiculous hoops, I hate this so much I am googling how to move to Switzerland because I've just about had it with this bull crap.
1. If you try to log in from a browser that it does not recognize (I use chrome, come on!) from the last time you logged in, it will not allow you to log in.
2. If you manage to jump through hoops to log in, it will take you through a loop of "here's a code" texted to you, "ok, here's another code" and then "ok, I know you gave me the password, and the code, twice, but I need a photo of your ID" to then go through a new loop "ok, now that you've confirmed 754 codes we've texted you, sent us a copy of your ID, now we would like to scan your face about 500 more times" to then allowing you to log into id.me but not allow you to use it to log into the stupid IRS website.
To me, it is INSANE that a company can create a security app that is so good, it leaves the actual user out of their own data.
Worthless. Absolute GARBAGE of an app, and it's irresponsible and ridiculous from the IRS and them to expect users to deal with all this BS.

I use ID.me for multiple reasons and feel that my personal information is safe but the only thing that I don't care for is how long each page loads (slower than most websites)…I've used the site during regular hours as well as irregular hours (for example; 10 pm) but it's still slow
I was a little surprised I had to do this, except for me not realizing I could take a picture of my ID within the application, it worked great. Fast and easy!

Used ID.me to connect to my SSA account. Took about 20 minutes. I was able to get into the site. I logged out of SSA to make sure I could log back in. Guess what? No can do!
Total waste of my time.
