ID.me simplifies how individuals prove and share their identity online. The ID.me secure digital identity network has over 98 million members, as well as partnerships with 30 states, 10 federal agencies, and over 500 name-brand retailers.
The company provides identity proofing, authentication and community verification for organizations across sectors. The company's technology meets the federal standards for consumer authentication and is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 conformant credential service provider by the Kantara Initiative. ID.me's Identity Gateway also has a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO). ID.me is the only provider with video chat and is committed to "No Identity Left Behind" to enable all people to have a secure digital identity.
The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in its identity verification service, which many users found secure and efficient, particularly praising the helpfulness of customer service during video calls. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the complexity of the verification process, which some customers found frustrating and time-consuming, particularly older users or those with unique identification issues. Additionally, delays and technical difficulties, including issues with document acceptance and login credentials, have led to dissatisfaction among several users. Overall, while the service is valued for its security, improvements in user experience and support are essential.

It was very easy and secure as long as you know you're login information.
I'm use to hurry up and wait from my time in the military, but this software is fast and easy.
The directions to register on ID.me were confusing, in my experience. Several times I thought I had accidentally terminated the process, only to discover that it was still under way. The photo requirement was especially confusing -- did I submit the picture correctly? Was it accepted? In the end, I somehow got onto the IRS site. I then downloaded all the documents I could possibly need, certain that I would never get into the site again -- and I'm still convinced of that. Very confusing! Why don't they test this software on real people?
The young lady who helped me was so kind and patient with me, not being tech savvy, she helped me in such a very compassionate and caring way. Thank you young lady.
Links would not load on my smartphone, could not take picture. Finally found a way to upload by saying I did not have a smartphone, was able to upload id pics. But then it sends a link to complete on my cell again. Which did not work no matter what browser (brave, safari, chrome).
Fue rĂ¡pido y sencillo me ayudaron vien excelente servicios sellos recomiendo
Customer service was pleasant, and he was patient with me. The process was fast and really really easy.
We filed our income taxes as we always have, and now, at the age of 69 the IRS suddenly doubts my identity?! And they don't even have the decency to confirm it themselves. Instead, without any warning, explanation, or reassurance, we are shunted to this creepy unknown commercial company asking us for personal identity info with us having no way of knowing if they are scammers or legit. A sad state of affairs that our government has fallen this low. We had no choice but to give them our info and let them VIDEO TAPE ME! Otherwise the IRS would just keep thousands of $ they owe us. Why? Because I dared claim that I was a senior citizen and qualified for a senior tax credit. Total nightmare.
I served honorably in the USAF. Awarded various medals including Air Force Commendation Medal and they system CANNOT verify my identity, will not allow me to upload pertinent documents(DD214, Driver License or photo). This is the third attempt at this and it always something. Cannot identify me, email belongs to another account. I just want to walk into an office and show them my paperwork and get my ID. Can someone anyone tell me whom to contact in the Phoenix Office, please?
Similar to the giving tree and physical tree growth patience is a virtue. Government websites are necessary and private entities work at lighting speed. You are protected by all three branches. Patience is a virtue.
I never had difficulty accessing the eBenefits website for the Department of Veterans Affairs until they started using ID.me. First, I was told that my existing account on eBenefits did not exist anymore because of the migration towards using ID.me. Because of this, I had to create a new account. I tried creating one using remote identity proofing. This would not work because ID.me would not recognize my mortgage loan number during the financial identity verification. After I was locked out of my account for a month, I was instructed to try logging into eBenefits directly through a separate ID.me login. This has proven to be extremely difficult. I am continuously instructed to send in photos of my drivers license and passport, but I am continuously told that my documents cannot be verified. I am currently waiting for a video chat with an ID.me representative. I was initially told that my wait time would be 23 minutes. I have been waiting for 44 minutes, and my wait time has been stuck on 9 minutes for quite some time now. Ultimately, I am so frustrated with this website and the unnecessary hoops I have had to jump through just to prove my own existence in their database.
The verification process is simple and only takes a few minutes. It's worth your time, as it may result in significant savings!
I tried to register my husband who is almost 80 years of age and I guess you need an email address to do it or so I was told and since he does not have one the man has a landline I guess he cannot be registered I think that's very discriminating against older veterans
As a requirement for Arizona AHCCS my special needs adult stepson is required to apply for unemployment insurance (which he does not meet the standards to get anything). During the process of trying to get his identity verified through ID.me we have been stumped apparently because he has never had a phone in his name. He's been on his mother's or my phone plan for 25+ years. Trying to contact ID.me has been futile.
I went to the V.A. In person. They gave me a form To get mailed out. I tried I.D. me and wasted the whole afternoon and got nothing done. It was a total waste of time. The only thing I got was angry. I just wanted to get my direct deposit changed.
