The process to get to the video call was somewhat challenging, but the call itself was quick and easy
It was a easy, fast, secure and simple process! Setting up your account took a few steps but made me feel confident my information was secured!
I was attempting to log into my IRS account. I began this process about 8:30pm, and was finally able to gain access after about 10pm.
I started on my desktop computer, had to have a second device available due to the need to have photos of various things, then found that I could not log in to my account via my phone as your webpage would not recognize that I adjusted the permissions on my phone's browser to allow camera use. I validated and revalidated that the permissions were updated and this still yeilded no success. This forced me to move to a third device, in this case a laptop with a camera, at which point I was finally able to gain access.
Throughout this, I was prompted for email and password, sent a code via text message, required to confirm my email after putting in the code, then I think a few more codes finally to have everything stalled with the need for a photo.
I visited your site and tried using the chatbot, which suggested I update my MFA options and indicated I should click on MFA update or something on the webpage. I was unable to locate this, and searching for "MFA" using control-F resulted in zero results.
I understand the need for security around these things, and I agree with having a robust process to get in. But if the process is going to be this convoluted with at least 3-5 independent checks, it should at least not require me to move between 3 devices and take over an hour. There are plenty of robust multifactor login workflows that work effectively and are significantly more streamlined and much less frustration-inducing than the experience with your login process.
I found the instructions clear and straightforward. The hardest part was taking a clear picture.

This new ID.me is extremely time-consuming and frustrating bc this system still has a lot of bugs, and no help at hand for you. Look for an early opt-out and just proceed via a different method to access your account. (Maybe you can continue to use whatever access you used to, such as via irs.gov, with your old password, etc.)
All of the personal identification photos were taken and a video in-person and showing the real documents.

It was a good experience but I had to get a translator because i rather communicate in Spanish. I was able to navigate with minimal translations. I was able to understand most of the questions too. The only thing i did not like is that ii did not like is having to explain my experience
