Needed my grandson to take me through it. Getting the photos uploaded etc with links back and forth with the computer had me stomped-but took 10 minutes for my grandson.
A long very process but finally I figured out thanks. I hope I can get what I,came here for. No I know things I didn't know then..

My state includes something like etching on the photo of the person on the ID, which makes the ID look a bit blurry on the person's face. I had to try many many many times to take a photo of my ID for uploading and my photos were rejected over and over again. I believe that the etching was the reason my photos were rejected, but can't be sure because the ID.me app doesn't provide specific feedback.
The "tips" for taking better photos were basically: "take better photos". The instructions were to fit the ID completely in the frame provided by the app without cropping the corners. But eventually I had to take the picture from much further away and crop before uploading. I feel that that solution should have been included in ID.me's suggestions.
I truly resent the IRS partnering with this third party site and the ONLY online way to access one's personal tax information. As a result of my difficulty with using the verification process I was left not trusting ID.me to be a secure site.
At first I was hesitant, but then when I really gave some thought about it, yes it made sense. A new thought for important things.
This site was not what it should have been. I had to enter my info repeatedly leading me to wonder if this was a scam. Terrible experience!

Great no problem verifying would recommend to a friend I'm glad I've done this and didn't have to go personally down the IRS I'll do it again I'm glad I'll be getting my taxes
I went through the lengthy process and finished it… but was then told that there was a problem. I could never get it done, not id.me or by phone (not enough agents). I suspect that the IRS wants to keep my refund!
Initial sign up took 2 hours with breaks. Almost gave up. Kept getting rejected for self photo…. Follow great instructions on screen. But "Something went wrong, come back later". 3 or 4 attempts. Plus, when you leave the site to come back later, it's difficult to know if you need to start all over again, or pick up where you left off. Note: Problem with the speed of my email. By the time I received my 6 digit "secret code". (30 mins). The time ran out and I needed to start over. By the 3rd attempt I changed to another email account with faster response of 6 digit "secret code"..
Took 2 hours to very plus the codes are not liable.
