It took me two days to verify my ID.me with SSA. I already had an ID.me account but had to still "verify with SSA. After two days I tried their AI chat Bot and it told me to upload a copy of my power bill or water bill...WRONG! There is no way to upload anything but your Drivers license front and back or maybe a passport (though I didn't try that). But they did have a way to take a selfie to verify the picture on your DL which I did and it worked. Make sure you have a high resolution Scanner for your DL.

I am glad I was able to get this done and out of the way. I have been waiting too long to get this done and did not want to have to wait on getting an appointment then waiting another two weeks after the original two weeks it takes to set up the appointment just to get it sent to my address. Login.gov wanted to verify me using a phone number I got rid of two years ago and there was no way else for me to login but ID.me was able to help me in many different ways. The lady on the video call was very nice and guided me in the right direction and was able to get me verified right away. I am extremely satisfied once again and thank you!

Don't understand what I'm supposed to do or how it not work then
I had a difficult time with uploading a picture of my license. It was easier to use the video identification. The person who popped up on the video was extremely friendly and efficient. It took less than a couple of minutes. I worked for days trying to get a decent photo. I strongly suggest you use the video recognition.
The self sign-up process was not user friendly. If you are an older person not computer savvy it was very frustrating. The verification process seemed to be on a loop. We had to do the same thing multiple times only to get to a point that we could not get past. The over-use of authentication codes was frustrating. After an hour we finally gave up. We then started over using the video sign-up. The agent was very good and very patient - props to her. If you're trying to log in to the VA and have another option - use it.
I thought at first that it was going to be to complicated to follow along especially when you see the spinning circle. I went through the first step the circle went around once and boom next task. It says it can take up to 10 minutes but I think it's a typo cause it's more like 10 sec. The whole thing took about 5 minutes to complete. I was at home on my home internet as well.
Didn't take long with everything the chat made it faster for me.

The ID. Me was pretty easy to understand. The only confusing part for me was the video selfie. The loading bar should load at you are successful or not. The way it bounced was confusing if I was doing it correctly
