After providing all my personal information to ID ME, and was able to log in to ID ME, Social security would not accept the log in to their site. Not sure where all my personal information went. I suspect a scam.

I spent an hour entering the same information over and over before it was finally accepted. Then when I tried to submit this review, I was forced to enter my name and email address before the system would process the review, in spite of the note that reads: +Add review details (optional). What's up with that?
ssa.gov uses id.me, so I need to go through the wretched id.me experience every time I want info from SSA. This time, id.me decided it wanted to redo the whole driver's license and real-time image verification procedure. I did everything it requested (which took 30 minutes, not the 5 to 8 minutes id.me predicted). Only at the end did I get an error message. It said id.me could not verify my identity, and I should try again. The id.me software knew exactly which step had failed, yet it did not tell me. It did not transfer me back to the step that failed. It sent me back to the beginning. I had to tolerate this because I badly needed MY S.S. Data. The second time through, it identified me successfully using the same documents, info, and images I used the first time through, although the second time through also took 30 minutes. The id.me software does not give any assurance that your driver's license, SSN, and images will be sent over secure and encrypted links. I do not feel my data is protected

One of the most frustrating experiences I've had lately. And I figured out what was wrong it was even worse. Then I asked my feedback and went on and on forever with questions that were redundant and repetitive. Don't they pay their people to do some of the stuff? They think I have time and effort to teach them for free? Don't bother with these people. Pathetic excuse for a helpful program.
I used ID.me originally when I applied with SSI but did not have the option of a video selfie then. I did have to upload my picture I.D. if I remember correctly and managed to get it done relatively easily. When I used it the second time to sign up for a college woodworking class it was just a simple matter of logging in with my user name & password & then creating my video selfie which was required by the college & it was very easy and quick. I was surprised with the process because I usually have bad experiences with things like that.

Endless virtual bots. Email only customer service. Slow response time to get assistance. If you can't eloquently define your problem you will not get resolution you will endlessly be stuck in a create a new ticket and start all over again.
