Very easy to use with step by step directives. This wasn't a nerve racking experience...very smooth operation.
Impossible to use. Requires extensive tech skills. I will never be able to communicate with the VA again. My health will suffer because of this awful, unworkable system. I suspect this is just another outside contract that provides absolutely no benefits to veterans. I intend to file a formal complaint with the VA secretary. Id.me is just another example of graft lining someone's pocket and injuring veterans.
The setup is formatted so as to make it easy I would highly recommend using the ID me to anyone that has to securly protect their identity

I had a okay experience, I had some trouble getting my identity verification passed. The computer system couldn't accept my selfie picture, so I had to get the video then the male that was helping me was having trouble seeing my documents
Poor instructions provided. The site is not user friendly and of course you reach a real human being to speak to. Somehow we're supposed to feel confident the our personal information is safe and secure.
I like having 1 method that I can safely and easily use to access my Social Security and VA accounts. Originally I set up IdMe for use with VA to refill prescriptions. That process was fairly simple with my son's help. Later I was able to use it to access Social Security. That process is OK but more cumbersome than when I use it for VA.
The experience was as described, very straightforward, not much time of waiting, the profesional was also clear and really polite, make my need to do my taxes an easy task.
The VA is updating its online presence by providing a secure means of logging in to its benefit sites for Veterans. I believe it was long overdue. I have peace of mind knowing my VA information is secure. Having a trustworthy and secure login procedure adds to my peace of mind.

You don't want to know how bad it was! Way too complicated. I spent 2-3 hours a day for three days and still haven't been able to get into to my tax patrons.
I have a 'dumb' mobile phone: Video chat not possible. They NEED to make another way for me & others to access with a dumb phone, or from a computer... Technology is flawed, kept running me 'round in circles.:-(
If you have a middle name or even a middle initial, don't bother trying this site. There is no place to enter it so if you have one on your license, it won't match.
Absolutely terrible it shouldn't take an hour. Once I was approved it would access the irs site with an error and told me to try again.

The new system veterans are being forced to use is nothing but added bureaucracy and red tape. Veterans have already verified their identity when they signed up for MyHealtheVet. But now they're being forced to go through the whole process again because the VA decides to ad another level of complexity for veterans to access their health care and records. Now we have to go through a new procedure to get the same exact thing we had before. Updates aren't any quicker. Test results don't go any faster. The only thing that happened is that access to our data has gotten more complicated. Older non tech savvy veterans might not be able to figure it out at all or might just get frustrated to the point that they stop using the system. It seems like the VA is intentionally trying to make access to service more complicated and inaccessible for veterans instead of trying to make it easier and more accessible. Look at the beneficiary travel claims system now. You need a degree in computer science to navigate the system for that. Before we could simply log into the kiosk at any VA clinic and file our claims within minutes. Now you have to first find the website, go through a verification process, try to understand the complexities of the dashboard and then figure out what exactly they want you to do or what appointments can even be claimed before you waste your time creating a claim. I'm sure many molder vets or those who have limited access to or understanding of the internet are very negatively affected by all these changes. It's sad when the VA is supposed to be helping us to get better access.
Absolute garbage takes forever to complete anything, as long as you like being harassed over everything then this is perfect 👌
Like I said, before I was a little leery of completing it once they took my Social Security number and then had to take ID pictures. Don't always know what to trust.
