Have your drivers license (or whatever id you choose) handy, and be prepared to go back and forth between apps (I used both my iPad and iPhone to facilitate the process. Be prepared with a dark surface to photograph your identifying document (license, etc). If you use a password app, you'll have to change it to reflect your new user id and password for using ID.me to access your I.R.S. Account. It's fairly easy, but a bit time consuming. It's worth it to hopefully prevent identity theft on your I.R.S. Account.
It was a quick little video call that took about maybe 7 min or less. I just like the way it was fast and easy to do other then the wait time everything else is as good.
Yesterday, I try to get some information about my taxes reccord statement, it's was too easy to create the account. I feel happy about that.

It was quick and fairly easy. I had phoned into SSA and was waiting for a call back. I was back into my account when they finally returned my call 4 hours latter.
This gives you an excellent way to verify your identity in order to access governmental and other websites where your privacy and identiy is important.
