I had a great experience using an online platform to apply for my Tax ID. The process was simple, and the platform guided me step by step, making everything easier to understand—even as someone who wasn't familiar with the paperwork. The overall process was very fast. I think it said it could take up to 15 minutes but it actually only took about 5 if that. And most of that was pulling out my license and taking pictures for the upload. Very user friendly. The instructions were clear, simple and easy to follow.
I added an additional government agency to my access list. The sign on security is thorough. I have all I need at one site. No more searching endlessly.

Be prepared for long wait times, a virtual agent that gets stuck in a logic loop, obtain multiple case files with unfulfilled promises of a call back and at te end read a statement about your problem being sent to the technical support for resolution.
Was able to do this at 6:45 AM. Entire process with video call took only about 10 minutes. Video agent was was friendly and responsive.
Extremely frustrating experience. I needed ID. Me verification in order to apply for SS retirement benefits from outside the US. The verification process went fairly smoothly and efficiently, only drawback was that it never worked. Every single time I tried to log in with ID. Me I was denied access. I tried to contact their help desk but all I ever heard back from them was an automated message and a survey about the experience.
Difficult process, several steps going back and forth between mobile phone and laptop. Ask for help!

Over recent few years customer service and business are either null and void or very low quality. So, I have been Unpleasantly Not surprised by the majority. It took some time, but at last I succeeded had good experience. Reasons why I said that it took some time from me being that most of the information I got were initially rejected and I kept changing till they were finally accepted; even my email, password, ID and selfie.
I put in all the information required, and when I' ve started access, it just sits and spins and after a period of time it tells me to retry, multiply times with getting no access
Once I signed up for ID Me, getting into the SSA is much easier and with a feeling of security. Make sure you take time to read and understand the instructions. I especially like the face recognition procedure. It is very thorough and, in my opinion, makes it more secure.
