If it hadn't been for id.me I could of still been waiting on my tax refund. It was a little over 3 weeks and where's my refund website would say your taxes are being processed. I tried and used id.me because of the changes the irs was going through than from like it was in the past. And the next day on the where's my refund website I had a date for when my taxes will be in my account. It was a reliever. I even was able to see any questions I needed answered right there on id.me website.
After entering all of my personal information including pictures of my identification ID me verified my identity however when I was redirected to the IRS website they refused the verification by ID me. It was a waste of my time.
There seems to be a mismatch with my identity. I checked on my SS retirement application a week ago and I login with no problem. This time it could not ID.me. My legal name is Michael Kent Brooks, but for some reason my SS card number shows a name "Mike Kent Brooks" All of my ID: Driver license, Military ID, Passport and Birth Certificate use "Michael" as my first name.
