I did a Google search for reviews of id.me and found that the government uses it for verifying people, which may or may not be a good thing in the modern environment. I chose to trust them because of the government's use of the site.

Instructions and steps were easy to use and follow. My poor internet connection caused failure of my first attempt to upload. ID.me has improved this process and it is much easier to use than when I first set up my ID.me account many years ago.

In the beginning I quickly became flustered w/process. It isnt a quick member application, but it soon gets easier. I had alot of documents involved so it took awhile. But in hindsight I doubt it would have my confidence that my info is safe like it does now.
My experience was that it was very easy to set up - no problems there. Previously I was paying with Direct Pay and thought the ID.me would make other features desirable. When I clicked on payment history after logging in the first time right after signing up for ID.me all payments were there for several years with exception to the last 3 quarterly estimated tax payments. I have no idea if there is a time frame for payment history - like the history of the tax year (only 2024 payments and older). I have not reopened the site, because the survey was requesting attention and now this request to write a review. This may be too soon in the process to give an opinion; but this was my experience so far. I hope to find all data in my payment history next time I log in.

The only thing is once you sign in to your account, is if there is no activity for what you're working on for SSI/SSDI your application will time out and if you're information is not saved you will have to start over, I realize it is for security reasons. It's just an inconvenience.

Terrible. Extremely frustrating. Time consuming. After I got to the site itself was not easy to find what I needed. When I found what I needed—prescriptions. I chose what I needed however there was no feedback if the VA was going to refill them. I click the button to print off this transaction and it was printing every thing about me. I stopped the printing after 50 pages and my current perscriptins was not one of the pages. I don't know how many pages would be printed if I didn't stop the printer.
I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE PROVIDING THE NECESSARY INFORMATION. IT WAS EASY AND CONVENIENT AT MY FINGER TIPS. UNFORTUNATELY, IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO FINISH MY PROCESS DUE TO USING DIFFERENT CREDENTIALS FOR VERIFICATION.
This was easy as I am retired but have an active nursing license. Other programs want a work email but this was more inclusive.
