I really don't understand why so many people gave such a bad reviews! I love everything about this app! In just one mouth I saved $85.
Stop don't waste your time working with this rebate app. When it comes time to withdraw your money there will always be a reasons they delay payment. Anything from need to verifying your email to phone numbers to your logged with your phone and ipad. There is no customer service phone number. They will only communicate via emails and are very slow doing that. Often they will clear your account for no reason and just not give you credits due. The latest stall for payments is needing to verify your phone number you have already verified. I'm done with them. No more of my time wasted. Clearly they are collecting advertising $s from these company but not paying out. Cash flow issues
Stopped using it after 5 trips to the store. It was so time consuming and I didn't generate enough money to redeem or save on anything I regularly buy. I thought I cancelled my account with them only to get an email saying I'll be charged maintenance fees. Their website says, "... submit a ticket in our Help Center and select "cancel account request"..." but there is no "cancel account request" in the help center. There's no "ticket" either, it's a request I submitted. On top of that I got an automatic response email for my request with a wait time of 5 days! There's no phone number to call. Their website is just links to dead-end articles. I can't even find my account history via my profile. Totally a scam.
Withdrawing cash can feel like pulling teeth. Especially when you're finally ready to redeem the cash for a specific reason and it doesn't work! Also, check the privacy section, they will automatically sell your information if you don't change it!
I had over $25 in my account. When I went to withdraw it, they blocked my account stating that it was incorrect login. I made several attempts to change my account login, but they won't let me. Now, several months after, I decided to check it see if I could create a new account. To my surprise, my account was unlocked and the balance is now $0. They kept taking money out of my account for the time it was locked, claiming that about $3.99 per month was charged due to inactivity on account. Don't trust this app.
I would not recommend this app to anyone. Money doesn't grow on trees for me obviously that's why I'm trying to get cash back for stuff I bought. The app seems to only offer cash back for the items that cost the most. Youd think having the receipts would be good enough for the app to see what you bought and then give you cash back but I guess not. This app definitely needs work.
Tag the stores you shop at. Hook up your shoppers card to those that let you. Clip the coupons on the main page and it connects them to your stores. Keep in mind, the stores don't all have the same deals. Some stores have FREE items and others have HEY GET $. 10 JUST FOR SHOPPING. Not a big deal to some but it adds up fast for those of us who have to pinch pennies.
Recently the app went all Rakuten so you can even hook up to sites you shop online through. Grocery AND Online
Ive gotten a decent amount in my cash back balance and now when i try to withdraw it says my account is locked. Conveniently customer support cant answer even given weeks. When the money hits your account that means that Ibotta got paid too... so if they can come up with a way to keep you from getting yours thats more for them.
The rebates are nice, but I was about to throw my phone after some challenges with loading everything they need, and I am disappointed that they won't offer help via phone or chat.
Grocery shopping seems ok. You will collect cents and a couple dollars. Online shopping with big credit won't track. They will have reasons that the purchase didn't meet criteria or not tracked. Don't expect to get big cashback eg. $40, $50 -- all lies! Customer service took FOREVER. Then you got news that sorry... no credits. Ibotta sucks!
I attempted to withdraw $75 from the IBOTTA app and send it to venmo... ibotta canceled the transaction, now my IBOTTA account says a balance of $1.62 and they stopped it from reaching venmo. I've sent 7 emails no response... they stole my money.
Turned into a scam. They don't credit anymore, they lock and deactive accounts without warning or explanation.
I started using the app a few months ago because I'm poor and trying to put myself through school, so every cent I can save is a win for me. I personally haven't had a problem with scanning my receipts and getting money back on my item purchases (I. E. a dollar back on soap) but the function where you can pay with Ibotta at restaurants/stores is a SCAM.
I went to go pay for my meal at Applebee's using the Ibotta percent back function, and Ibotta took my money from my debt card, but Ibotta didn't actually credit the restaurant with my purchase. I called the restaurant and the Applebee's manager was kind and showed me the transaction history, explaining that the Ibotta purchase never recorded on their end. The only purchase that recorded was the one I had to use with my physical debit card after the app failed. I contacted Ibotta explaining my issue, and they told me that "gift card sales are final and that I got my dollar cash back, so there was nothing they can do it about it," definitely do not use the cash back function at restaurants because it's a scam, lucky for me, I've kept my receipts, and have physical evidence showing that Applebee's never received the Ibotta payment, and that the app just took my money. Ibotta definitely won't be hearing the end of this.
Sounded too good to be true and it is. Have no way to redeem for items I purchased that are listed and barcodes match. Sent customer service numerous emails. They take days and weeks to respond. When the rep finally did, it was jus copied and pasted instructions which are on the site and I had already done. Cant get any help. Waste of time and a hassle. Deleting app
I've read a bunch of negative reviews and I've literally had the opposite experience. I use the app at Kroger, Walmart, Target, and on Amazon and have had good experiences, even when their are hiccups. Most recently my Kroger loyalty card was connected, after years of submitting receipts by photo. On 2 occasions the loyalty card didn't credit the account for 5 Almond Breeze Banana Flavored Milk at $1 per purchase and I simply clicked the dispute button and informed customer service. Within a day or 2 they emailed back and the credit was applied. The only issue, at least for me, is that a lot of the items on the app I don't purchase, but when I do, it's convenient. I also just cashed out and got an amazon gift card and had the code in my mailbox within minutes of cashing out. I've had all positive interactions with ibotta and would recommend them if you want to earn a little bit of cash on your regular shopping.
It's convenient enough to go through the process of submitting your receipts. It's easy to navigate and I haven't had problems with the actual app malfunctioning. The problem comes with actually getting your 'credit'. Each time I submitted a receipt and earned credit, they would reverse the credit saying I had a duplicate receipt on another account. That's impossible since I only had the one account.
That happened 95% of the time I submitted anything. Occasionally I would go on a loop of having a large credit given to me, reversed, then I would contact customer service, they'd give it back, then the next day it was reversed again. That happened a couple times.
It's just not worth the effort if you're not in a very tight spot with money. I don't have the time of day to fight with them constantly.
Based on these reviews, I 7 tried to redeem 7 my $$ in my Ibotta account for a gift card. I ordered a $25 gift card. Got an email, and printed. Easy!
I got to give this crappy company a 1 star would be nice if I could give a negative 1 star... my account got deactivated for no reason and I have a balance left on there which is about 70 dollars and I can't access it it's a shame companies take advantage of people and rip them off and take there hard earned money and customer service is horrible it takes them 5 days to respond back to your ticket and when they do they make no sense... I spent alot of money on things trying earn a balance then they go ahead and deactivate my account and basically take my hard earned balance screw you Ibotta! I will somehow get my balance that you took from me...
Beware of the online shopping offers. Even though you shop through the ibotta app as it tells you to do, the offers don't always register. I am constantly tracking this company down through help tickets for my money. They take over a week to respond a lot of times and don't correctly address the issue. When I booked through hotels.com, to get a measly 3% cash back through ibotta it wound up being the worst hotel and I couldn't cancel it because it was booked through a third party service. Ibotta made me wait over 60 days to get my $10 credit, I had to track them down twice for it. They kept telling me it will take more days. It's like they are trying not to pay on their own promises. Also they wouldn't accept my grocery walmart pick up receipt because it was printed out. (The only way Walmart gives you receipt is through e mail for grocery curb side pick up). I explained the story to them. They owed my $7 worth of credits for junk items I would have never purchased and refused to pay. I'm tired of chasing them down for due money I am owed. They used to be good a few years ago but have really gone down hill. The only thing that The app is good for now is the any item measly 20 cents off each grocery store purchase. Which is probably more work to scan the receipt than it is worth. I would seek out other apps and leave this one aside.
This apps such waste of time its totally headache, i did purchased tide for participating store, it said scan the qrl/barcode on the receipt and scan the product barcode, waiting for approval after 24hrs denied they couldn't find the product. This is completely bull$#*!. I really hope everyone delete this apps..
Answer: Absolutely so true! I earned up just over $100 and when I went to cash out they said I was fraudulent YET I HAVE EVERY RECEIPT and all submissions were valid. It took me months to get to this amount. Hmmmmm Class action anyone?
Answer: Because they deny certain purchases due to cost! It's become a scam!
Answer: I tried to withdraw money for the first time and it said my account was locked because of multiple attempts which was not true.! I sent 5 requests for help in a week and they finally responded by deactivating my account and keeping the 360.00 that took me months to accumulate. They claim I tampered with a date on a receipt and I just crossed off the account number. So they can keep my money that is mine. How can I get my money back?
Answer: Sorry Jenna bit it seems like you're kinda late for that rebate a few years actually. I'm pretty sure that ibotta have 100% absolutely forgot about you and by not I'm sure you forgot about too. :)
Answer: Go to your $amount and cash out and it will say bank or gift card.
Answer: Why don't any product receipts add extra bonus for us?
Answer: You have to email the morons that run their customer support at least 3 times before you'll get the proper amount credited to your account.
