I was notified the delivery would take place on Monday between the hours of 11 am and 4 pm. Therefore i took time off from work to be at home. The delivery never took place and no call was received. After I called the delivery company, I was told the item was not even at their terminal yet and would most likely be delivered the following day. Not wanting to loose more pay at work, i instructed the delivery company rep to please call me on my cell and i would leave work and be there for the delivery. Once more no call at all. When i called them I was told the delivery truck was at my home all ready. I immediately rushed home to find the unit off the truck and placed in my driveway on the opposite corner where is should have been placed. Your instructions are to not sign for anything until the cardboard was removed and the entire unit inspected for damage. The delivery person stated that i had to sign release before removing cardboard as per Old Dominion policy, a direct contradiction to your stated policy. I told him there was no way i was going to sign anything until i inspected the unit. He was adamant about this but I proceeded just the same.
This entire ordeal does not sit well with me as i not only lost a day and 1/2 pay but I got aggravated as well. I feel that I should be compensated for my lost time in some fashion.
