Been a subscriber with Hulu for a while now, but I find I rarely use the service. The content is fine but the ad experience is the most intrusive and pervasive of all the streaming services. Every ten minutes there's a long ad break—almost two minutes of ads. Between episodes of shows, there are ads. After the theme songs, there are ads. Ads and more ads. It's like watching network TV but you're paying for the privilege of letting third parties try to pitch you their wares. Hulu offers an affordable basic yearly subscription rate, but if you want to go ad-free, you have to switch to a monthly rate that's prohibitive—well over twice the price. It's almost cheaper—and much more pleasant—to BUY ad-free content and watch it on another service. Sadly, I'm paid up for the next 10 months. Would prefer a refund so I can defray the cost of numerous seasons of "included" shows that had to go out and buy on Amazon Prime because they were unwatchable on Hulu.
When you have ads and you want to rewind after you've watched a two minute long ad goes completely back. It makes you watch the ad again. It is ridiculous.
Just wanted to cancel. Had problems logging into my account though internet, so forced to try to reach agent over phone. 45 min completely unacceptable and then agent asked me why i canceling, and then tried to sell me another service and then tried to get me to take a survey. Big headache just to cancel.
I have had many issues with them upgrading without consent and multiple charges - their support email no longer works!
First hike charges you to watch woke commercials. Then when you've had enough, the online steps do not work to cancel. If you attempt to call customer service, expect a 40 minute wait to be told. "We won't help you" This company is trying to steal from you hoping you will forget or just give up.
For only 8 dollars a month I can watch so many great ads! 12 minutes into my show and I've already gotten to watch 10 minutes worth of advertisement! So glad I know which allergy relief to buy if I ever develop allergies how could I forget when that ad has played 3 times! No clue what's going on in the show I'm watching since there's LITERALLY ADS EVERY 4 MINUTES but it's not like I wanted to watch my show anyways
You have to pay for Hulu, and the movies Hulu offers suck. Free sites like Pluto and Freevee offer better movies. Save your money and watch free services. They offer better movies
I called because I couldn't watch on TV and they ask me to download an app also to open my bank account when I refuse the guy told me that he is going to report me he was very very rude unbelievable. Then I told him that I wanted to cancel my account and he still was telling me that he is going to report me for what? For refuse open my bank account, then he pass me with the manager and he keep me more time on the phone almost 40 min with these people and they don't resolve anything, in the end I have hang up and cancel my account online. Horrible horrible service.I have to put one star but for me is 0 star. What a rude rude customer service.
While traveling in South Africa with our Amazon Firestick, we discovered that Hulu severely limits what you can watch AND you CANNOT access your recorded shows from outside the country!
Now, we're traveling in our RV across the country and Hulu still does NOT allow access to recorded shows and live TV, especially ABC Evening News, using our Amazon Firestick OR smart TV!
Why am I paying a premium price for a sub-premium service? Not much longer, as we're about to dump Hulu for anything else! Hulu is definitely not designed for traveling people!
My roku account was hacked and a bunch of unauthorized charges were taken from my checking account. I called Roku and they refunded everything except Hulu advising that I need to call Hulu to get refunded. Keep in mind I cancelled Hulu more than 3 months ago. Someone ordered Hulu through a Roku account that isn't mine but somehow got my debit card info. I called Hulu and they will not refund ANY of my money as I am not able to give them the information from the "FAKE" account. If I got hacked then how in the world would I know that info? I even asked them to take off my credit card and I can verify the card number and they still wouldn't help. This company doesn't care about people...just money. They don't care if it's fraud as long as they are making money. Unreal...

I received calls from people who sounded like "South Asian" people who spoke poor English, Pretending to be Hulu support and wanted me to download the "AnyDesk" app from the App Store if you had an iPhone. They also wanted me to open the "Cash App" if I had one to verify my bank account, I said "No" and they hung up. I reported them to Hulu and they in turn notified authorities. So beware of scammers trying to steal your personal information. I have and love Hulu, but this calls made me think about how easy it seemed for these people to obtain precious and valuable information from unsuspecting clients. Be aware, hulu will never ask you to download apps or open your personal apps. 04.02.23.
I am an American. Please quit putting Hispanic commercials on my channel. I love your channel, subscribe to it and pay for it and I do not appreciate any political view. Quit putting any American commercials on your channel. Hispanics coming into this country illegally do not need to be catered to. If you want to be in American, you should learn to speak English.!
I'd rather pay either the same or a little more for other platforms. This platform is RIDDLED with ads even when you're paying monthly. Wont be renewing my membership. I'm so done.
I have Hulu through Verizon, I tried to upgrade to stop gay commercials from showing, but I can't do it though Verizon, we have kids in the house and I do not want my kids to watch that. Sorry but Hulu suck
Disney+ package,espn blocks Nhl games regularly, Hulu worked fine last year but now will constantly give error message when trying to watch or resuming playback. Now on 3rd game tonight yet never finished first 2...
For the last 15 mos the recordings don't work on my account. The most they will offer is a week's credit. I spoke to a supervisor today and offered to show them videotape of what is happening and they said to just cancel it. I was like? They said "we don't want you to be unhappy with the service you are getting so if you don't like it you should cancel it". I was like A- why not just fix it then and B- you cannot offer a larger credit when I can show you with a timestamp that shows that at this very moment it is still not working for me? They were not even interested in seeing the video.
So frustrating as Hulu is a great idea but to pay $80/month for shows that you record but then the recordings aren't working (a previous Hulu rep told me this is affecting only certain channels) seems insane. It would be one thing to not offer more than a week's credit if they thought I was pulling one over but I offered to send in video of what is happening and the rep didn't even care to see it. She was like "yea we totally wouldn't offer you more credit. You should just cancel".
So yes, we are canceling. My husband has a sports program that is not affected by the recording issue so once the events for it are over we are going to get our HBO via HBO and be done with Hulu. Unfortunate.
I give it 1 star because it's not working so what is the point. But I would give it more for the idea behind it and if my recordings didn't stall/stop I would be all about it.
For such a large company, Hulu seriously lacks in customer service. I got paid one day later than payment was due and they suspended the account. When I called to let them know they can take money next day, there was absolutely nothing they would do. When asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told I would have to wait 15 minutes or longer before I could. I was astonished at the way they treat long time customers. This was a first and had never happened before. Complete disappointment.
First off hulu charges 14.99a month for no to little ads. The truth is 80% of their movies are from fxm and other networks with 7 or 8 breaks with 3 mins of ads. Hulu blames it on the networks but still steals the 15 from you. They claim to have a huge library of no ads. Again this is a lie they might have 25 of thier own movies but that about it. I just bought a month after cancelling a year ago same movies same stuff. This is a company built on deception. Boycott hulu at all costs. Even family guy and American which used to not have ads now does. Hey Amazon prime for 138.a year and no commercials. Hulu live tv buffer city same woke commercials and same lies. They give you ESPN and Disney with live tv but there's nothing on them. Do yourself and your family stay away from Hulu they are all serial liars.oh and live tv is now 83.00 a month but after the first month you get billed 93 so your not saving any money using greedy hulu than cable Amazon prime you get free shipping and movies and tv a year for 139 a year of hulu is nearly 1 thousand dollars it's not worth 30 a month if I could curse here is tell you want hulu really is.
Has great shows and movies, but for black Friday sale I got Hulu with ads. In a 20 minute show like" $#*!tz Creek" there are 4 minute and a half commercials. In a 45 minute show like "Sons of anarchy" there are 7 or 8 commercial interruptions...and to watch a movie...hope you have an extra 25 or 30 minutes to watch it cause there are so many commercial breakers. Regular TV is free because we watch commercials with it. Watching the commercials is how we pay the networks for watching their channel. With Hulu you not only watch all the commercials the businesses pay Hulu to show us but we pay Hulu for the privilege. They should be ashamed of their selves. None of the other movie apps run so many commercials for paying customers...Hulu is just a money grubbing monster, that I hope will be fined whenever the government figures out what they are doing.
With the new up coming Hulu series called 'Single Drunk Female' it is no wonder that Hulu currently ranks 110th in streaming services. Who will watch this kind of program, other drunk females or single drunk males?

Answer: Happened to me. Stay away from hulu. My systems is high speed and works great with YouTube 4k and Netflix 4K HDR. Hulu obviously is bandwidth limited which might work for customers who watch old movies but their technology is not good for 1080P and modern technology.
