HP's reputation is increasingly marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and product reliability issues. While some customers praise the quality and reliability of HP products, particularly laptops and printers, many express frustration over unresponsive support, complicated return processes, and inadequate troubleshooting assistance. Common complaints include lengthy wait times, ineffective repairs, and a perceived lack of care for long-term customers. This growing discontent suggests a need for HP to enhance its customer service approach and address product support challenges to retain customer loyalty and improve overall satisfaction.

The printer works OK USB from PC to the printer. The printer also has ability to print from cell phone over WIFI direct, WIFI network and has own email address to print over email over HP server but it's impossible to setup. Even after removing all firewalls. Called HP customer service who were unable to make it work after 1.5 hours on line. Month later I call again and HP representative demanded about $52 reoccurring subscription for technical support. He didn't want to hear what kind of problem I was having. He sounded stern and demanded credit card payment beforehand. With no choice I payed. Than he directed me to different department. I had to give control over my PC for half an hour to an representative who barely spoke English. The printer still never worked and I demand my money back. He said that will take 7 to 10 days. I spent many days to try to make it work and it started to work for one session of printing. I'm not an tech naive
Person. After that one time I shut down PC and the printer. Attempted to print again and nothing is possible to establish again except direct USB to the PC. The customer service is tyrannical. The product is nightmare. I waisted many days to try to make it work it's embarrassing. HD.
The main issue they are building and shipping directly from Shanghai. They are not allowing you to cancel due to their unreasonable timelines. May 16 tried to cancel and was denied. May 20 goes into shipped status. May 22 goes into delayed customs hold in China. So now it will flow through California on its way eventually to Georgia. When I then have to promptly turn around and begin return process on a laptop I DO NOT WANT. I have already purchased a brand new one from their competitor and received the very next day better specs for less money! Lesson learned HP is a garbage company now.
After ordering a $1,400.00 desktop computer from HP I had my computer guy come over to transfer all of the data, computer programs, etc. from my old computer to the new HP. As we were taking the computer out of the box we could hear something rattling around in the computer. My computer guy opened the computer only to find a screw loose and inside the computer. Then we had difficulties getting the new HP to boot up. After several attempts it booted up, only to see lines all over the screen and a message telling us the video card was not working. Apparently HP does not have ANY quality controls.
So here we go with calling HP Customer NO Support in some 3rd world country. You know,
The type of call were you can not understand the person talking to you. So I provided my name, address, model number, serial number, phone number - not once, but each of the 3 times I was transferred. Hey HP... here is an idea for you. Have all of your employees use the same computer system so customers do not have to repeat all of this information each of the 3 times they are transferred. I know, it takes someone with a GED to figure this one out.
So I told "highly trained" third world country representative, we are getting an error message that is telling us the video card is not working. The brilliant HP representative said, "what type of cable are you using from the computer to the screen(s)"... Me: HDMI, "Oh... Are you using HP screens the HP representative asked?", Me: no Acer. Me: Mr. HP. Guy with your 3rd grade IQ... It can't be the screens and it can't be the cable because the screens are receiving the message that that the video card is not working and there are lines running all over the screen... Can I send you a photo of it? Yes, please send the photo I was told. So our 42 min. Phone conversation ended with what I wanted to start out with and they are having the repair tech call me. $1,400.00 and a computer that does not work.
So the HP repair guy comes to my office to replace the video card, but he does not bring a video card. HP gave him a Mother Board! He replaced the Mother Board and that fixed nothing, So the computer is STILL broken and he has to order a video card. This repair drama lasted all week.
No more HP products for me.
When HP printers work, printing is satisfactory. When they don't, It is near impossible to troubleshoot problems.
Worst purchase ever. Was directed to site where verified individuals would get a frontline hero discount. I thought wow, what a price. Purchased. Gave way of tracking the process. Yet it is exactly the same as anything shipped from China. Bogus. Purchase 4/26. Nothing changes in status until the day it is supposed to ship. Changes to being built and tested that day. 5/10. Then says shipped. Which really meant. Built in China, shipped from China, delayed in China, and now very late for a birthday present. Purchased under the context of frontline hero. Did they sell/give all my info to China too. Yes they did... I would not recommend anyone purchase from HP. Not a thing.
Gave me lots of attention, screwed up my order, refuse to return it, make excuses, lie, and you name it. The worst company that I have interacted with in a very long time. Really just absolutely pathetic. How can you look at yourselves in the mirror? I will never buy another HP product ever again.
Buying a laptop from HP is a big gamble with your money. The build quality of their newer laptops is trash. My screen was replaced twice within the warrnty period, which I got fixed via the store I brought it from (luckily I didn't have to deal with HP customer servie directly). Two months after the warranty period the same component broke again. Keeping this thing running is not worth the time and money as it will just keep braking down.
When I bought it I read the reviews on the online store, which were mostly positive. Checking those same reviews now it seems all positive reviews were written within weeks of purchase. All the negative reviews were written at a later stage.
You can be lucky and get a HP laptop that will still work after two years, but you can also get lucky in the casino. Neither is worth your money.
I purchased a laptop several months ago i was hopping i will get my computer soon. I talked several time with customer service asking about my order, at times, i wanted to cancel it but the HP rep told to wait since i will soon get it. So i waited and waited 1 more week, 3 weeks, 4 weeks. Yesterday i received an email saying the order was canceled. I thought it was a mistake so i call to hp today, they said, the currier atempted to deliver 3 times and since they were not able to accomplish the delivery they canceled the order and that was the first week of april, i spoke to hp agent around April 18, he said i will get it sometime next week before May.
HP lied, the worse worse liers F... Liers
For now on i will buy Apple. If you want to but HP think twice.
I've owned HP computers for the last 23 years. The last purchase has been the worse ever. I bought a desktop which upgraded itself to Windows 11. This caused the wireless adapter to go off-line (driver). HP tried remote service without any success. The local HP warranty center only uploaded Windows 11 again (losing everything I had saved) and it still does not work. I was told that reverting back to WIndows 10 would void the warranty. HP gets a zero for not providing any workable support. I basically have desk clunker and have to buy a 3rd party wireless adapter. HP sucks. Stay away.
HP Office Jet Pro 6978 is a worthless piece of garbage. Printer will not merge with laptop and have to reload it every time I try to use it. Scanning will not work. I will be throwing this piece of junk in the trash where it belongs!
I bought a printer 3 in 1 and it was not working when I took it out the box. Hp customer service was horrible and they never fixed or had any resolve to why... by the way your warranty only is valid when your product is purchased through them directly
Ridiculous customer service. I bought a pc with about 2 months delay and when it got here they built it with the wrong specs then what I orderd so I asked for a partial refund or shipment of the correct parts and they asked me to file a return requests... as in if my request is denied I need to keep tis pc with wrong specs for which I paid full price for. THIS SOME BULLSH*T. HP U A**
If you want to order and pay for a PC and then don't get it - go ahead and order from the HP Store.
When you try and phone aftersales (as there is no telephone number for them so phone sales and they put you through) you will receive excuse after excuse. They told me there was a internal fraud issue and then it was an issue with after care, then they didnt know why the computers were not dispatched as they were in stock. They told me to write in with a complaint - I'm guessing to get me of the phone as i never got a reply to my complaint either.
If you want your item delivered - order from somewhere else other HP.
I was promised expedited shipping in order to get my laptop ready for starting a new job. It didn't happen! The product arrived with regular shipping, they lied and of course if I returned it, I pay 15% restock, buy another brand with reputable customer service!
Worst customer service. Virtual "advisor" could not understand questions. After almost 2 hours reached a live person overseas. English was 2nd language and did not understand or listen. All I wanted to know is what product to buy to increase storage space. Won't be HP brand now or ever again.
I bought a custom laptop from HP website. One of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. Aside from their sh@t customer service, the laptop was delayed well over 6 weeks. I am on college excel track, trusting HP to deliver on promises was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. LIARS! The management straight lied to me on multiple issues, including a partial refund for their ineptness. This company has cost me so much money in productivity and loss, I will NEVER buy from them again. God forbid, after months of lies and delays, the laptop has any issues. I have read review after review since ordering of how they screw their customers. My bad, if something is wrong I'm just out a grand. Do your research. This company WAS, past tense, reputable but has become trash, liars, and all about YOUR money. If you call and can't speak anyone regarding your problems / order, simply choose the option that you want to 'buy' a laptop and you will speak to someone quick! Piece of sh@t liars! Worst business ever! Eat me HP!
I have recently ordered a custom laptop from HP website. The Order was made on March 23 and during the call with customer service agent, it will take maximum time of April 21st to get the item. As, of today the item is not even shipped as per Fedex tracking. They create the label for Fedex on April 18th and It is on same state until now.
This review is not about the product they sell. This is about there online store. Please check, before order a custom product from there online store. The customer service agent may give you false promise. It is really going to take lot time to get the product in your hand.
Diabolical customer service
Diabolical customer service - it's impossible to reach customer services, I've had zero help with my problem! I'm left with no ink after their instant ink scheme stopped working. Bought a new cartridge - printer won't let me use it. Now I'm sitting with a totally useless £80 printer. Avoid at all costs.
Bought a Spectrum laptop but started to give problems, sent to HP customer service and it took them forever to lie that it was fixed but of course it wasn't. Escalated the case and lots of time wasting correspondences and foot dragging, my lap top is still not repaired. The laptop is subpar and the customer service is worse.
Their products are a money scam! We used our printer maybe once a month for two years while paying for the ink we didnt use. We decided not to continue paying for it and they tell us we cant even use the ink we have more than paid for already! Then our laptop we had for a year told us we had to pay 80 a year for Microsoft word. We cant afford that so we didnt. Now we cant use our laptop or our printer unless we continue to pay out the but for basic services!
Answer: Impossible by phone since at least December 2023. ( May be before)
Answer: I'm old and remember the HP of 20 years ago. Boy has time changed this company.
Answer: Lenovo is similar to HP, though the performance of Lenovo's computers is complete crap, the upside to it is that they at least have good service.
