HP's reputation is increasingly marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and product reliability issues. While some customers praise the quality and reliability of HP products, particularly laptops and printers, many express frustration over unresponsive support, complicated return processes, and inadequate troubleshooting assistance. Common complaints include lengthy wait times, ineffective repairs, and a perceived lack of care for long-term customers. This growing discontent suggests a need for HP to enhance its customer service approach and address product support challenges to retain customer loyalty and improve overall satisfaction.

I lost connection to my printer June of 2021. It was a long and hard battle to get my account closed. During which, I was charged $20 for ink that I had never used. Today, July of 2022, I was charged again on my bank account. I was told by two separate people that my account was closed MONTHS ago. So why am I being charged for ink I NEVER USED?
Can't imagine a more annoying and disappointing experience. Hours on the phone with support that doesn't know anything and can't help.
Printers made to break. Bought insurance and even that was a nightmare.
Save yourself.
HP took a well functioning app and modified it to the new HP Smart. The renovation constantly breaks down causing a waste of time and obstruction to productivity. I will replace HP with another manufacturer in the future.
My HP Officejet Pro 9018 All-in-One Printer could not scan or print any documents. I called HP customer services for solution. Talked to 3 individual persons including 1 in the Instant Ink Section at the very beginning.
Finally I was switched back to Kyle, a Instant Ink Support Specialist. She listened to my concern and walked me through the recovery process. She is so knowledgeable about her company products. Me and my wife was so happy that our printer works once again. Thank you so much Kyle.
This is my case number: *******003
Missed two delivery dates, lied they kept my money for 18 days, never answered the phone when called, lied about machine saying it had to be built and coming from japan. Finally bought from staples they had inventory and sold for same price and at the last minute they tried to deliver after i purchased the other machine i had to wait for ups to deliver and i refused delivery. They would not take my cancel. They are a nightmare. HP you should be ashamed still waiting for my bank to return my money. One word for HP S-IT
I purchased the computer a little over a year ago, it is very slow, and I think that maybe something didn't go right when I turned it on for the 1st time. I talked to customer service while I still had a warranty but they could barely speak/understand English. I had to explain the situation many times over and it was never resolved. I think that it would be a good computer if something hadn't went wrong initially. I wish that I could have understood the customer service rep better. Also in fairness to HP I am not super tech savvy. I do own a printer/fax/copier from HP that I love.
Don't waste your time buying a HP computer. Mine had to be sent back in a week for exchange. I could not upgrade the memory because they put the wrong memory in it or labeled it wrong and they had me buy the wrong memory. Tech support said the motherboard could be bad. 11 days later, still no exchange computer. They tell a different lie each day. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. Sent email showing exchange had shipped but it never shipped. Still waiting.
HP instant ink is a scam, their products are trash, and the customer service is even worse. I signed up for instant ink because it's cheaper than buying ink at the store. Little did I know, you can't cancel your subscription. Although it says you can, they'll just continue to charge your card and say well you used your printer and the subscription is to use your printer, not for the ink. No, I paid to use it when I paid for the trash printer. I paid for the ink with my instant ink subscription. Imagine you buy a vehicle and even though you paid for that car, pay for the maintenance, and paid for the gas in it, they tell you that in order to turn it on you must pay an additional subscription fee. I paid for the printer, paid for the paper, pay for the electricity to use it, and pay for the ink via instant ink. I will pay more for a printer and ink through a different company solely because I refuse to continue supporting a company that's constantly scamming people. I will also report the charges to my credit card company as fraudulent. More people will catch on to the way this company practices and I cannot wait to watch them go down for it.
0 STAR!
I have purchased HP printers for about 12 years now and purchased their ink in bulk due to the volume of prints we do. Due to Covid, I'm sure a lot of people slowed right down and had to purchases less or was stuck with inventory that they normally would have gone through. I have the HP Officejet 8710 that uses the 952XL inks and now i cannot use them because they are expired. I have never in 12 years had trouble bulk purchasing inks and using anything that has gone past the expiry date as they work just fine. This is robbery! I have spent hundreds of dollars on inks that i cannot use. I can't sell them to anyone as they won't be able to use them on their computer - so what do i do? HP is just fine with their customers losing hundreds of dollars! CROOKS!
HP has forced their firmware on their customers. HP doesn't want you to downgrade your firmware and get around HP's monopolistic and anti-competitive techniques of stopping aftermarket cartridges. I do not use aftermarket but even anything that is expired (I buy in bulk), cannot be used. These cartridges are running around $30/cartridge and you are telling me i can't use ones that I paid for that are maybe a year expired?
HP filed a DMCA take down notice for a company that was trying to help customers downgrade their firmware so they could use their cartridges that they paid for.
Please call, email or tweet your local government official and tell them HP shouldn't be allowed to stop you from using aftermarket cartridges or expired cartridges by forcing firmware updates on their customers.
It's the Voice of Customer. I purchased a HP laptop online for £399.98 on 26 June but never delivered. They said the order has not gone through but the money of course was paid in full to HP!
They did not refund the money yet as of 7 July!
It's not my business to remind the HP management that HP UK has been UNABLE to sell, or how the sale team's poor performance is. They probably know better, I just needed to get my money refunded.
I was told that I will get refunded 3-5 working days since 28th June, but that never happened.
They even deleted the order number from the sale database! I don't know why HP do this sort of stuff to poor customers?!
I hope I can get the money back from HP UK. I promise not to repeat my mistake to buy any of their products. Based on my horrible experience I recommend not to approach HP. They can not sell…
This brand of laptops is a joke. I bought a laptop that in less than 1 year started to have serious battery and system problems. After 2 years the laptop had so many problems that I could no longer use it. So in the end I paid 500 euros for some cheap pieces of plastic, pure garbage.
I'd placed an order for a new desktop, as my current one is getting rather old. I'd decided to also acquire a monitor and keyboard while I was at it, and everything was planned to ship 4-6 days after my order. The monitor and keyboard had managed to come in fine, but the Desktop had still yet to show up. No biggie, I'm used to things passing the deadlines, so I gave it another day or two. I still hear nothing from HP and decide to call them and check on the order. Turns out the package had gotten damaged during shipping and they had to take it back before processing out another one. Out of their control, stuff happens, I get it. But from here is where things turn bad. At first, I was told the order would be processed in a couple of days, and I would be able to receive it in a few more days. After those few days I call again and now they say their inspection process can take up to 8 days, and that tomorrow (the day I'm writing this review) would be the day that my package would ship out, and it would come in 1-2 business days. I called customer support today, seeing as I never got any confirmation of my desktop shipping, and waited over an hour on hold while trying to reach customer service. Upon reaching them, I was told that the department I needed to talk to had closed 15 minutes ago (again, I'd called over an hour ago at this point) and that there was nothing they could do, and that I'd have to call them again in the morning. NOW upon looking at my orders I finally have an arrival date... for mid-July. At this point it would have just been faster to cancel my order and order the same computer again, which would have only taken a week at most, so the fact that this whole process is taking almost a month seems bizarre to me. Their ability to get things to you seems to be decent when everything goes perfectly, but for the life of me I can't give them any higher than 2 stars after the pain I've had dealing with customer service and wait times.
Don't buy HP laptops, you're better off buying from other brands, their laptops genuinely are bad. Below mediorcre.
Had problems with my printer connection. Called support to try to connect it again, but it turned out that Jack the technician wanted to sell me some kind of protection, because I had a Malware infection, if not, he could not fix my problem. When I said that I didn't want to buy anything, he said "you called me, I didn't call you", and cut the communication.
I checked with Apple, and was told that my computer was clean and they helped me to solve the installation problem. Very disappointed with this service. Always have used and owned HP printers, but not in the future. If there was an option for half star, the's the rating I would give.

When you purchase a laptop or HP product it comes with hidden charges fees etc that I was unaware of I specifically had problems with the OneDrive. I bought a laptop with 1 TB which is a lot of storage, however I was unaware of this OneDrive scam that limited me to access files that automatically downloaded to this drive after I reached the 5 GB max. This problem led me to try and fix it on my own so I simply deleted the files off my onedrive but it deleted them off my computer. I tried to get help from support but they then tried to charge me 50 dollars and a monthly subscription. In my opinion I believe when purchasing a product that is very expensive in the first place I should not only get the service and helped needed but also not be afraid of these hidden scams and fees that come with it. Friends with apple of none of these problems and also when you call support you don't have to wait over an hour as well or scammed for help.
I bought the Officejet 7740 printer, and it does NOT work. It keeps telling me to put in ink cartridges, but it does NOT recognize HP cartridges. Even the ones sent by the company are not recognized. And tech support has not been able to fix the problem. They finally offered me a $250 coupon for this $600 printer. They do NOT stand behind their products.
My laptop has been sitting in China for seven days past delivery date of promised Delivery. Hp will not cancel order or give me a delivery date.
Ordered a laptop, once complete you can view your order in My Cart, there you will see an expected delivery date. HP will lie to you that this doesn't exist, I have proof (see attached) and their customer service denies this! Buyer beware…never will I purchase from them again!
I have a HP printer. HP has pushed this Instant Ink program where they have access to your printer. I quit after initial enrollment two years ago. Yet I was sent Instant Ink cartridges anyway and if you use non-instant ink cartridges, the printer doesn't work. I called, e-mailed and did "chat" yet no one wanted to be bothered to help me figure out what was happening. I waited for one hour on the phone and no one answered, just music. Terrible service. Buy anything else but HP.
I purchased a HP laptop on May 18th, it won't ship until ~ June 17th which is fine, however today the price dropped $186 with their Memorial Day sale. So I contacted Customer Service several times, via Chat, and phone and spent over 3 hours doing this but to no avail. Here is the policy:
When does the Price Protection Policy not apply?
This Price Protection Policy is limited to one price adjustment per item, per guest and does not apply to: Non-HP branded products, Business series products (including Zbook, Elite, Pro, Workstations, Thin Clients and servers), Other stores / retailers, and Special promotions including financing offers, bundle offers, free items, pricing errors, mail-in offers, coupon offers, items that are advertised as limited-time-only (doorbusters) or limited quantity, out of stock items, clearance items, credit card offers, gift card offers, "Final Sale" items, and items for sale from the week of Thanksgiving through the week following Thanksgiving and during our Presidents Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Green Monday and Red Tag Sales.
The way I read it, if I bought a laptop now during the Memorial Day sale the Price Protection does not apply but I bought it on May 18 and should be able to receive my price protection now during the Memorial Day sale the way the policy is written.
Very unhappy with HP, I have asked to elevate this issue and have to wait 2 days for a reply call. This is not what Customer Service should be. If I could rate HP ZERO I would.
Answer: Impossible by phone since at least December 2023. ( May be before)
Answer: I'm old and remember the HP of 20 years ago. Boy has time changed this company.
Answer: Lenovo is similar to HP, though the performance of Lenovo's computers is complete crap, the upside to it is that they at least have good service.
