HP's reputation is increasingly marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and product reliability issues. While some customers praise the quality and reliability of HP products, particularly laptops and printers, many express frustration over unresponsive support, complicated return processes, and inadequate troubleshooting assistance. Common complaints include lengthy wait times, ineffective repairs, and a perceived lack of care for long-term customers. This growing discontent suggests a need for HP to enhance its customer service approach and address product support challenges to retain customer loyalty and improve overall satisfaction.

Horrible computer, Cursor stopped working intermittently, black box kept popping up in the upper left hand corner and it was slower than my old 5-year-old laptop and I bought the high-end model 1200.00 dollars, but the worst was trying to return it if you try online you are told it will have to be approved first by the HP kings, And I waited 6 days then finally called HP and initiated a return with a live person. It takes 5 calls at least to try and get a real person after you send it back. I was so frustrated I was almost crying. It has been returned/received 5 days ago and when I finally got a person she tells me oh they have to look at it first and make sure you aren't a crook trying to cheat them (not what she said but what she meant) I have been waiting 5 days since it was delivered to them and was told I may have to wait ten days or more and then ten days to get my money back. Provided of course that I am not a crook trying to cheat them. When I told the customer service agent how upset I was, she actually laughed. I am practically in tears and she laughed at me, wow. Maybe you will get your money back in a month if they feel like it, apparently. Don't buy an HP and if you do whatever you do don't buy it from their website, go somewhere that will just take it back without acting like they are gracing you by even allowing you to return the horrible thing and round about accusing you of being crooked. By the way I also bought two cheaper laptops as a gift for a total of 1400 dollars and they are also having cursor issues, but the recipients of the gifts don't want to have to go through all that return/repair nonsense, I assume that is the reason they do it that way hoping you will give up and just take the loss. They don't even dare to try and get them repaired, and go through all this. Instead, they are going to pay from their own pockets. Brand-new laptops that need repaired seriously?
If I could give a 0, I would. I've always trusted HP and their products but I will never buy anything more from them.
I tend to be proactive, so I buy and store toner cartridges so that when I need them, I have them. In 2020 I ordered a 4 pack of toner for my HP Laser Jet Pro 477 printer (410). I received them and put them away. Unfortunately, I did not check them.
Recently, in the middle of a large personal project, I changed the color cartridges and all was well until I was going to change the black. They had sent the wrong cartridge, 48A ($54.99) instead ofthe 410x as ordered ($171.00)
After spending more than 3 hours being passed from one agent to another, they refused to accept an exchange, return or refund because I past the "Return date", even though it was THEIR handling and shippjng error.
They are NOT a reputable compan! Buy from anyone else!
Angry and disgusted

Stay away from HP products. I bought my daughter a laptop for college, within a year the motherboard went bad. It was still under warranty so I sent it to HP they replaced the motherboard free of charge. So I am thinking they fixed the known motherboard problem and I have a good motherboard without the known issue.
I was wrong, they gave me a motherboard with the same problem and of course in about 8 months the exact same thing happens. Now it is out of warranty and they washed their hands of me.
I am doing the same thing with them. HP will get no more of my or my company's money. I would suggest everyone do the same.
I recently had an issue with the keyboard on my laptop. After 3 miserable days with online tech support they had me send my laptop to a repair center. I got an email from them saying to fix it there was 2 dents in the casing that needed to be repaired 9only one was there when i sent it in.) In order to fix the keyboard they wanted more than $400 to fix the case. This is like taking your engine in to be repaired and having the shop tell you you need to have a dent in the door fixed before they can fix the engine. This should be illegal... I have had laptops for my work for 20 plus years and thgus is the first time sometime has pulled this with me.
I am very unhappy with the laptop I purchased. It's absolute junk and I m stuck with it. A waste of money it makes me I'll. Don't buy. I use to love HP but I won't buy any more products from them again.
Worst customer service ever. Cancelled an order within two hours of being placed due to misleading prices (beware if you use your nhs blue light discount, you could pay more than someone without a discount code!). Cancelled online, emailed them, laptop sent to me anyway. Tried to ask for a return, HP ignored all my emails. They don't answer the phone either. Had to finally use Twitter to get a response. It took three weeks in total to get a refund. Two weeks I was chasing them to get return labels. Appalling customer service. I will stop everyone I know from buying from this people. Never again!
This company took 3 months to get me my laptop, after i got it, i had to spend multiple hours with tech support, and now my laptop is back in customer service for a flickering mouse curser. THE ENTIRE REASON WHY YOU BUY A NEW COMPUTER IS TO AVOID THIS **************.
I wil lnever buy a HP machine again and will make sue everyone and their mother knows about this s**** company.
Payment is made on 14 Nov 2022 but still delivery is not made, and there is no clue about delivery. Same is when inquired thay are unable to answer.
Envy x360 a dud avoid.
After having a Lenova laptop for years wrongly decided to try out an HP and it was horrible!
Keyboard do hypersensitive; always going to wrong pages! Who designs these interfaces GEEZ!
Get with it.
I emailed HP and they told me how to do what i asked them and they told me i can email them back if i had any problems and then i emailed them back and they never replied this happend multiple times
Hp communications suck. Never try to have a repair done by them. They don't communicate, their phones are ALWAYS ACTING UP. They never have a snooze process with laptop repairs.
After 2 1/2 years and only 1 ink delivery, I canceled instant ink. Although the ink level is good, the printer stopped printing. I called. They claimed they disabled the ink allegedly sent by them because the subscription was cancelled. Don't waste your money on the "service".
DO NOT BUY either of these printers. I have nothing but problems with both printers for the past 18 months. Life of these printers is supposed to be 5 years, yet we can only access technical support in 1st year. I have had following issues: (1) test page doesn't print, (2) printer is offline when wifi is working/connected, (3) had to update drivers three times, (4) have been on phone with HP Support for 6+ hours, (5) told today that warranty is expired and have to pay $19 in order for technical support to help me. I am pitching these and am buying ANYTHING BUT HP.
I called HP tech support today as I needed help setting up my printer—I talked with a wonderful technician who clearly guided me through setup and I couldn't have asked for better service—thank you!
Warranty is not being honored. They told me the replacement was already being processed. I received an email indicating that I had to show Proof of Purchase and Serial Number photos. I wrote to them indicating that I didn't have proof of purchase and called customer service to let them know about this - they mentioned not to worry. That they understand that receipts can get lost. The order validation team contacted me and they said "serial # is not reported to be sold to anyone and from our records is still owned by a distributor." It seems to me that they are accusing me of stealing a monitor! It's incredible that they said this to me so I contacted customer service and they gave me the phone number of order validation and spoke to Heyesn. Super rude and mean individual. He did not help me at all and didn't care that HP customer service told me that. He said " well they lied to you". He was not helpful and when I said I wanted this to be escalated to a higher up, he said he is the highest person in the department and cannot escalate. It's so fake! HP doesn't want to honor a warranty that is currently active. It also does not make any sense that the warranty is currently RUNNING but not sold to anyone? It makes zero sense.
I have 2 HP laserjetP1102w printers. One seems stuck on permanent pause. I have tried reinstalling with a constant "fail" message and it says to call the manufacturer. Ha! That would be online with the Virtual Assistant since HP does not have any real people. After an hour of ring around the rosy, I will be buying 2 new printers- NOT MADE BY HP. Only a company that provides support. HP has no customer service, they simply DO NOT CARE.
HP's use of software to prevent the use of refilled and remanufactured ink cartridges should be illegal. When I purchased this HP 8035e, I was not aware that I would be obligated to only purchase new (overly priced) ink cartridges exclusively from them. When I recently tried to use a less expensive, more environmentally-friendly option (remanufactured ink cartridge), the printer "rejects" it, because it is not a new, HP ink cartridge. I am throwing this printer into the garbage and going with another brand (any other brand). I will not use another HP printer until they stop this predatory and ridiculous practice.
I have not been unhappy with my all-in-one 3700. It did what it is supposed to do.
Until now, now it won't scan. It prints fine, so I know it is connected to the wifi.
But the HP Smart software isn't so smart after all. It says the device is not found. Yet I can still print from the computer. I just cannot scan because HP Smart cannot see the device and cannot tell me how to find it.
I purchased a HP printer and went through a myriad of steps to get it running. It unboots itself OFTEN and if you are in need of printing you have to go through the steps again. The only steps you can skip are the ones to unpack the printer. I have had to print at the library. I am going to get the cheep printer I bought for my college student and use that. I will not have to spend over an hour reinstalling the printer to print. Walmart printer, Cheep, WORKS!
So I bought an HP printer with Smart to provide ink on a subscription service. Had it a year. It has so far failed about 10 times. Each time i have to delete the printer and reinstall it... and an upgrade last week lost all the drivers. No warnings no msg just printer offline. Has taken me 4 hours of messing about to delete printer and the print queue. Relod printer update drivers manually. Entailed logging into Smart 4 times. I tried to leave feedback but it can only be done via a microsoft account or facebook account... They have no idea who someone is... and the consequences. As an IT GLobal strategist ive managed over half a million pcs laptops and printers. 50% HPs... but that will change. We wil lreview this stupid HP software that kills itself each upgrade. It will be history. I recommend everyone buys epson or Cannon but forget HP they are disappearing up their own software black hole and you cant even speak to someone. Even as a subscriber.

Answer: Impossible by phone since at least December 2023. ( May be before)
Answer: I'm old and remember the HP of 20 years ago. Boy has time changed this company.
Answer: Lenovo is similar to HP, though the performance of Lenovo's computers is complete crap, the upside to it is that they at least have good service.
