If I could I would give hoveround a minus 1000.I bought myself a hoveround in 2021. Yes,they were very nice in the beginning. Worked with Medicare. In August of 2022 I got a flat tire. Plus I needed batteries. My insurance company was trying to work things out with them. But hoveround started give them a hard time. Was told to fax a paper on what my insurance was going to pay to have fixed. So my insurance company did this but hoveround said that they never got it. That is so weird because my insurance company received a paper back from them that they received it. Then hoveround wanted to know exactly how much my insurance was going to pay. They at hoveround were told that insurance pays 80% and I would pay 20%. But they wanted that in writing. Finally after about 6 months I said that I would pay the full bill due. Was told that I would have my parts in 2 weeks. Well 2 more months came and went. I finally got fed up with all there lies. So I asked for my money back. The BIGGEST LIER of this company is Ron. I asked for my back. Ron told me that they couldn't put the money back on my card. Ron said that they would mail me a check in 7 to 10 days. Those days came and went. So I finally called hoveround again. They told me that the money is back on my account. Talked to RON on 3/9/23. My payment was put back on my credit card on 3/11/23. So you really CAN'T believe what RON says. I have had over 15 references numbers. Hoveround has 8 phone numbers for people to call but they all go to just 1 place. Keep track if you call them like I did. They were going to charge me $275 just for labor. But after a year and a half the batteries quit taking a charge. I was also told by Ron that they are having a lot of trouble getting the parts. Was told that there is not enough truck drivers to deliver there part's. But I found out that a lot of there part's come from China. So go and buy yourself a different power chair or you could get screwed over like I DID. The owner of hoveround is Tom Kruse. I sure would be ashamed to have people like RON working for me. Lies,Lies,Lies,Lies that is what Ron does. By the way Ron I have been taping all that you said to me. Ron you are a total idiot.

Non-Existent Service

I'd say their service is horrible but when they never respond to emails maybe it's really non-existent. I've called and was put on hold, after 18 minutes I hung up. I've emailed twice (using the address on their website) over the past two weeks and no response. And this is when I want to buy something. I've moved on to something else.

Customer service is absolutely terrible!

The customer service for Hoveround is the worst that I've experienced! They nickel and dime you for every little thing, and they sent us the same cup holder three times and charged us. Then they sent us to three different departments saying that it wasn't their mistake. They sent us a shipping label and picked it up and then delivered it to us again for days later. It's so sad that they would take advantage of the elderly. If I wasn't helping my dad, he would be getting extra charges. Do not waste your time with this company!

Dissapointed

My wife Jean HIckey called the main support number in Florida from the owners manual and she was passed around to five different people and was put on hold for 55 Minuets, and you call this customer service, well you have a long way to go the be customer friendly, what if it had been an emergency? And she still didn't get thru to anyone and was then disconnected

I got the chair delivered, and didn't realize it didn't come with the tie down hooks. When I called, they said that was extra, and charged me $344. So I paid it. I waited 3 weeks, then called to check up on the order, they said they couldn't process the order because she forgot to charge me tax. Why did no one call to let me know that. OK, so I paid the tax. Still nothing. I called back, and now they are saying it's another month because they are out of stock. I left 4 messages for a supervisor to call me back, haven't heard a word. So I've had a chair for 2 months in my home, which my insurance is paying monthly for, and I can't use it. Worst customer Service ever. I may just return the chair, and start the process over with another company.

We have been waiting for parts for our chair for 2 weeks, and when said parts arrive we have to find someone to put them on for us as there are no technicians local. This is not a good way to run a business. There should be more timely delivery and someone to install new parts. I give Hover round a fat 0.

This company is terrible, their power chairs are garbage. My chair had to be serviced constantly. Their parts don't, they put, garbage parts in my chair. It takes forever for them to get the parts and left me non mobile for almost 2 months. Their customer service reps are rude and nasty. The technician Mike, was not friendly, always came with major attitude, when coming to fix my chair. Avoid this company at all costs. I'm do for a new chair, and have taken my business to a new company. Customer service people are nice, they had my chair approved within a week, I'm waiting on delivery now! Now, it's how it should be…..

Just wanted to drop you a note about the product that you offer. I am very pleased with the chair. It does everything I want it to and then some. The rep who delivered the powered wheel chair was super nice and very helpful. My little Jack Russel (Milo) even liked him. I am truly impressed with the equipment and it is of quality construction. Thank you so much. You have given an old man a new way to get from point A to point B without having to deal with the horrible pain and falling all the time. Keep up the good work.

Very BAD service!

I had been trying to get an electric wheelchair from this company for over 6 months now. They kept telling me that they would call me with updates. They never did. I had to call them every time. They told me not to worry, that they would contact my doctors office for me to ensure that the paperwork was completed correctly. I had to call my doctors office at least once a week for well over a month only to be told that they were STILL waiting for Hoveround to fax them the paperwork to be completed. Repeat this whole process for my insurance company as well.
My insurance company finally approved the electric wheelchair for me, but Hoveround still wasn't doing anything! Months of me having to call Hoveround, my doctors office, my insurance company and I STILL don't have my electric wheelchair. My insurance company even tried calling Hoveround, but the people that work for Hoveround are unfriendly and uncaring when they answer the phone both to me and to my insurance company. I can't even review their actual wheelchair because now my health insurance has expired and I can't afford to get health insurance anymore. I had already paid over $1100 (my portion of the wheelchair that wasn't to be covered by my insurance company). I called again today to see what Hoveround could do for me since I no longer have insurance. They told me that they still don't have all the parts to make my wheelchair. They didn't have any suggestions for me. Didn't offer to set me up with a payment plan. They just told me that they would refund my money and then hung up on me before I could say anything in response. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone! Horrible, horrible uncaring service and they are liars! They kept telling me that they would call, make sure that things got done, but they never did!

Both my wife and I are disabled. I got a hoveround MPV5 then 2 months later my wife got one we never really used them except to go to the doctor as we use walkers inside home to keep active and didn't have a way to transport other than the van that picks us up for appointments and these are far more comfortable then waiting 4 hours in hard doctor chairs. So neither has more then say 10 hours of actual use. But after warranty wore out then another 6 months I started getting notices to have it serviced at an extreme price, we are on a very fixed income. Then two months later the wife started getting the same notices then more and more. Then one day I went to doctor worked fine got home plugged it in everything was fine then next morning nothing wouldn't move wouldn't nothing wont charge used wife's charger nothing but hers would charge on my charger or hers then exactly two months later hers did the same thing one day fine the next nothing. This is obviously not a coincidence and wouldn't you know we have not received one service notice since they have a built in fail date I have talked to many health equipment suppliers and none carry these products any more as they all say the same thing they are built to cost you far more money in the long run then just the overpriced purchase. This is a scam against some of the most vulnerable people and they just keep ripping us older Americans off do yourself a HUGE favor and buy something anything else.

2 months wasted!

I started in beginning of August w these people trying to get a power wheelchair thru my ins (Medicaid United Health Care). I originally had a telehealth appt w my primary dr but figured I best go in person, even though I had torn a meniscus and come to find out part of my cartilage in my knee. We listed everything I had/ have which is a loose right knee replacement which is 3 years ago today I had done, a right thumb bone removed which got infected and now my phone is deformed and hard to hold on to a cane or Walker, my left wrist has sharp pain making it all so hard to hold on to a cane or a walker, emphysema stage 3, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and a myriad of other issues. I just called today, October 3rd, after my appointment one month ago and not hearing a thing. I was told things were incomplete and I still needed to go to the doctor for another visit! I said what more do you people want? Someone with no legs? I said why can't you just submit the paperwork to my insurance company and see what happens? I certainly have enough issues for it to be approved! Nope the agent would not hear of it! So I told them to take their wheelchair and shove it! Good luck is all I can say!

Almost useless
September 28, 2022

My client just received his hooveround, absolutely worse chair for his needs. The first issue is it don't come apart to transport so he's still stuck at home, second he lives in an older home the car will not fit through some doorways. I have made numerous calls and no help in this matter. It's ashame The scooter store is no longer in business they were 100 times more customer active.

Do buy Hoveround

Do buy or believe anything Hoveround tells you. My chair control box broke off6 weeks ago this week called them 4 times wrote the president of Hoveround a letter and my insurance company contacted them and never even got a return phone call. Nice company aren't they lied to me about everything think about what they can do for you

NOT recommended. Hoveround MPV5 Power Chair was bought in January 2020. The chair has need multiple repairs over the past 2+ yrs. August 2020 it need a wheel replacement. August 2021 the controller, arm rest and frayed wire needed replacement. May 2022 the chair completely stopped functioning properly. New batteries were ordered - didn't solve the issue. Since May 10,2022 we have been waiting for a service call to be scheduled. They did take payment for the call which hasn't been made (it has been 11 days and multiple calls). When the previous breakdowns occurred parts were shipped - we had to perform the repair. My FIL is wheelchair bound and has not been able to have a quality of life since the Hoveround chair broke down 11 days ago. Medicare only pays for a chair every 5 yrs. I do not recommend this chair which lasted less than 2 1/2 yrs - with multiple repairs needed during that time.

Do not get one

Iv been waiting on parts for months now.
Getting it worked on is impossible.
I put new interstate batteries in it 2 months ago and just using it in the house today after 4 hours it's half dead I don't know what's wrong with it. New batteries shouldn't go down that fast

Worst company ever!

My MIL has had no quality of life since hers broke. She is stuck at home now, with nothing to do and her mental health is suffering. She has been getting the run around for years with repairs, there is no customer service, they make appts they don't show up for, bring the wrong parts when they do show up. She will get so excited thinking a repair will get her moving again, then they will cancel or not show up or not be able to fix it. She has not had a chair since January. We spent the night in the ER, she gets confused over what day it is now that she is home sleeping all day. I will be getting involved now.

I am in need of a electric wheelchair due to many physical reasons. However, I feel as though Hoveround is
Giving me the Runaround. I am not one to order an item, especially a costly one, without the experience of being able to sit on it and test it. I was told there isn't anywhere, I can go to look at one and before you would do anything I had to jump thru hoops including involving my doctor. I understand that things have to be on the up and up to have Medicare and Insurance help with coverage, and I have nothing to hide. Of course your company called today to tell me the doctor missed a question and did not include a prescription for the chair. The reason being, I'm not sure what type of chair I want, just yet. The lady said she will put it on hold until I make a decision. I may end up going with your chair because from what I have seen I like the idea of the turning radius.
