The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

I returned my items WEEKS ago and have yet to get a refund. My order was over $600 and they keep writing saying they need to hear from the seller - yet my transaction was processed through Houzz and they should take responsibility. When you write to ask for an update, they reply saying they will respond in 48 hours so getting answers is a lengthy process. Buyer beware
I made an order with this company on Sept. 8 and I was supposed to receive my order between Sept. 14-18. Three weeks have passed since the date of delivery and I haven't received my item yet. In response to my follow-ups with the company, they just apologize and keep delay the date of delivery. At the end, I wanted to cancel the order and get my money back but they said I couldn't because the item was on the way. REALLY? I called to talk to the manager but they kept me waiting on the line so long that the phone got disconnected. DON'T shop with them. They are extremely disorganized and make false promises.
I ordered a sink for Houzz. They said they had three in stock & would take 2-3 weeks to arrive. At the three week mark, the status was preparing for shipping.
I asked for a tracking number.
They said their supplier had my sink on back order & it would be another month.
Whats up with being in stock when I bought it then goes into back order.
I ordered a coffee table from this website. My credit card was charged and I received an email that my table was on the way. We waited at home the date scheduled for delivery, no table. I contact Houzz the next day via email only to find out my table was never shipped. They actually charged my card and did not even have the table in stock! Many, many emails back and forth, I canceled the table but did not receive the credit. When I did finally receive the credit, it was $40 less than what I was charged. I called my credit card company to dispute the charge. Today, I get an email, my table is on the way! I canceled it more than a week ago. This has been going on since mid September. I don't want to deal with them so I blocked them from my credit card so they can't charge me again. All this hassle... for what?! I'm done for good!
Ordered a planter from them on August 4th. TI came as a soft planter made of fabric. I started a return. That took almost two weeks. I returned the item through USPS (they sent me a label for UPS twice the price of that of USPS in a box 10 times too large for the item, so I didn't use it.) On 9/5, I still haven't received an acknowledgement of the receipt of the return so I called the company to whom I was directed to return the item (a third party) and found that they have received the item and have reported it to Houzz. Today is 9/24, I still haven't gotten a refund yet. So, I called Houzz. Their phone number is nowhere that I could find on their website. To scroll down to the bottom of the site, I had to see ALL of their products and took more than 10 minutes to scroll. I finally went to my credit card statement to find their number. I called it and after 9'45" wait, I talked to a customer service person. She told me that nothing was done on that refund but she would do it immediately.
Based on my experience, I am going to tell anyone who I like and love NOT to ever do business with HOUZZ. As to the readers, I would like to share my experience with this company. If I knew that HOUZZ was the middle man who makes no goods but peddling in the middle, I would not have bought anything from them. The way I feel is that GET A REAL JOB, HOUZZ!
I ordered two items about two weeks ago. One has shipped, the other has not, so I called customer service yesterday to get an update. The CS agent was rude and just kept saying it would ship within the suggested time window. All I wanted was an update to see if I could know the day it would ship so I'd know when to expect it but I got nothing. CS is not great, and the ship times aren't either. I'll stick with other major retailers.
P&G Real Estate Investments, LLC, located in Navarre Florida (Destin Area) did an outstanding redecorating/fixup at Woodmont Street, Navarre Florida. They excellent work in painting, plastering, vinyl window replacement, fixtures, new floors and rugs, kitchen redue, replacement of old appliances was just fantastic and was surely due to the sale of the house being sold in 12 hours. I would truly recommend them to anyone who want a first class redue to their house. I just couldn't believe their work habits and long hours to finish the job. Highly Recommended!
DO NOT BUY FROM HOUZZ! Furniture item that I ordered arrived with mold and other damage on the wood. Have been awaiting pickup from shipper (item is over 200lbs) for almost two weeks. Customer service was initially very responsive but in the last week I haven't heard from them at all. NEVER buy from this website.
They tell you to get "References" as a part of the way to get to the "Top" of their web site. However the people giving reviews must first join houzz and my clients and reviewers did not care to do that so I got no reviews from my happy clients.
It seems to me by doing that, Houzz is putting their own interests above those of the people who pay to advertise.
Thank you everyone for taking the time to share your personal experience with houzz!
They dont mention that if you need to return an item they will charge a ludicrous return fee (i. E. 80% of the value of the item). Buy from amazon with its free returns.
The home is awesome and the detail and quality is above and beyond. We are very grateful to the Bella Vista team. The experience is professional and they treat everyone like family. Thank you.
I think this site solicits THE DUMBEST OF THE DUMB for customers. Sold a porch swing to a moron in Michigan and they were ticked off because they had to assemble it and hang it themselves! Houzz sided with the buyer and made me give them their money back, WHICH I REFUSED to do and I pulled ALL my items off their site. WHAT A FREAKING JOKE THEY ARE!
Second time ( can't believe I went back for more) products are cheap Chinese crap! Cuztomer service sucks, it's "never them" because they use suppliers. Waiting for refund. Don't use this website!
After going back and forth for 2 weeks over a cheap product I am out $50 in product and shipping fees and I do not even have the items. The blame was placed on me because I didn't pay even more in shipping fees to insure the return. USPS damaged the product and now it is my fault. Terrible customer service. They need to take some tips from Amazon. It is essential online stores have good return policies for their customers. I will be telling all my friends and family to avoid Houzz.
We ordered an island from Houzz in January. Here it is August and we finally received a defective island with drawers that are broken and a poorly finished top. The customer service is horrible and the management is worse. I waited 2 weeks for a call from management to try to rectify the situation and was told that i would be responsible to ship back the item.
Buying from houzz is difficult. Inexperienced people who lie as they go. A scam and should be it put of business from selling stuff. A rip off for buyers and sellers on houzz.
Horrible experience using Houzz. Our first experience included purchasing a desk that weighed about 200 lbs (estimated) and was delivered in a box that looked like it had been opened/repackaged several times and been through a war. Upon opening the box we found that the desk wasn't packed properly which made the corner of the desk inflict serious damage. It has been a week trying to get this resolved and we still have not gotten either a refund or replacement. They asked us to send photos - which we have done several times -but we keep getting requests from different customer service people to send photos. At this point, we are just done with it and requested for it to be returned. We have to wait on that too...
I ordered 4 lounge chairs looked Black on the website, came in brown. They want a 25% restocking charge! 6 emails and 8 days later I have not gotten a response. Still have the chairs. Can anyone help me get these chairs returned.
I ordered a product through this website and never received the merchandise. I contacted Houzz customer service and the seller www.1800housewares.com and no one was able to tell me where my product was! I never got a call back from 1800housewares about where my merchandise was and even got attitude from the customer service rep! Houzz kept saying they were trying to contact the seller but weren't hearing back from them. The rep at Houzz kept saying she would keep me updated but didn't do it unless I kept calling back. After four days of going back and forth with both sites I finally had to cancel my credit card to make sure I got my money back!
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
