The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

Bad experience dealing with houzz. Purchased a dining table and the shipping was free. The website did not offer any explanation that the item would be left on the street. Asked the driver to give me a hand to move the 100 pound package to my front door and he refused.
So disappointed! Ordered some dinnerware and the advertisement said four left so order soon, so I did. After a month I called three times to see what was going on because I had not received my order or any information. Interesting, I finally found out it was out of stock, and it appears that the items I ordered were not in stock when they were ordered. So my order was canceled after waiting for a month. Be careful, not sure they have a good handle on their vendors!
Their customer service is below par.
No concern for the customer once they have been paid.
Will never again buy from them and hope other won't be scammed by them.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER order anything from Houzz. I ordered 2 chairs that did not meet my expections and I waited days to get the return PERMIT! Took it to FedEx to return, thought it was done. Nope; it came back to me, refused by the company. I called Houzz again, same thing, wait for return slip. Having been man-handled for weeks, the box was more than a little tattered but FedEx took it again.
I have received confirmation of its return but no record of refund on my credit card, it has now been three weeks since I was told on the phone that it should appear on my card in 3-5 days.
Wish I had taken time to look at all these bad reviews before I ordered. Lesson learned!
I ordered an $800 item and realized I had used the wrong item number. I used their very difficult website message system and heard no response. Weeks later I received a call with a promise to email me return instructions which I never received either. The next message I sent was responded with a note saying the item's return time frame had expired with no consideration for my not receiving anything from them. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE!
I am not sure who to complain about, the seller or Houzz.
To lodge a complaint to the seller, you have to go through Houzz. And it is becoming very difficult to do when I do not receive a response.
In November I ordered the AKDY Shower Panel Tower Overhead Rain Waterfall Spa Jet Stainless Steel AK-Z9821 through Houzz. It was delivered. My contractor put it to the side until ready to install. Now the problems begin.
Once installed, the hose and wand attachments were missing. On January 2nd I requested that they be sent. Over two weeks later they finally arrived. BUT without the attachment to hook it up to the unit itself. SO I contacted them again, and they sent the attachment.
The mounting hook was not included. SO, again I contacted them. They sent out a mounting piece but not for the unit I purchased. I took pictures and sent another request. This one has been ignored for 2 weeks, even after I resent the request multiple times. Very frustrated and will not purchase again through Houzz again.
Beyond terrible customer service! I ordered 2 beds, only received partial fulfillment. When I called customer service and told them FedEx had lost order, they said they would immediately re-order the missing piece and send it. They also stated they would call me back to verify this was done and send an email confirming all this happened. Four days later I had to call again where it felt like I was starting all over again. They stated they had to call FedEx before committing, but would call me the next day. The next day, no call back as there was only one person who handles these particular issues. I had to wait another day, when she was back in, to call me and tell me she was still looking into it and I had to wait. When I insisted she re-order, she said she would. She didn't. I had to wait again, when I called and made sure she had done it, found out it wasn't, made a complaint, then apparently it was done. Received emails stating they were crediting my account, they did not. Their customer service department stated that they send those emails for internal reasons and she was sorry for the confusion. What? I will never buy from this online store again. When you have very limited control with how things are handled because it is all done on-line and over the phone, customer service is priority #1. They apologized several times for the delay and then very condescendingly stated how happy they were I had finally received my other bed. Very rude and definitely looking at making a sale, not a life-long client. Hope Houzz.com is happy with the $360 they made off me, it will be their last!
I purchased two light fixtures from vendor on Houzz website and decided on one. The return policy of the vendor is difficult to see and only 14 days from delivery. It's difficult to get receive a light fixture, get an electrician and have a light installed within 14 days. On 17 days will within the Houzz return policy I tried to return on light fixture and they would not accept the return and Houzz will not enforce the vendor provide any concessions. I will not purchase from Houzz any more. I will go through Amazon where they make their vendors provide quality customer service.

Do you take certified check... ***Huge RED flags folks, just researched and this is widespread and they usually say very similar things with different names. Do not cash any checks, but call the bank it was issued from to confirm legitimacy before doing so. OR, ONLY ACCEPT PAYPAL, Venmo, Western Union or Cash.
Just a heads up!
I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT BUY THROUGH THIS COMPANY - HOUZZ! Very poor customer service! I have been trying to get a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) which is required, for OVER a week! Holding up my project for a week because I can't even get the RMA to return it, which takes time and I'll probably have to pay for it. I was told on several occasions that a Houzz representative would contact me, and nothing. Seems to me HOUZZ is just a phone service operation. They can't even back up their sellers! I was going to exchange the merchandise for a different size, but once I'm done with this unpleasant transaction, I will NEVER use this company again, regardless of price! It's not worth it and look at their posted stats! Very poor! Wish I would have read the reviews first! Hope this helps.
I agree with most of the other reviews; poor customer service and truly rip-off company. I actually added to my order because of the shipping cost, it only made sense - if I was paying that much for shipping - then it should be worthwhile... right? Not right! My credit card was charged the "full amount" and then they cancelled half of my order and never sent the other items but never provided a credit to my card. Best to stay away from Houzz.
As a designer, I was contacted by them and asked to participate in Houzz database. I was talked into having a closed site where I could review my designs on their site but without the public seeing it.
It ended up as a public spot where my design where incorporated with thousands of thousand rip of copies, bad design, lousy handiworks etc. etc. Of course I asked them to remove my site since I never gave them permission to post it.
After that they continued to add my copyrighted pictures and designs to their site with no contact information or permission to me, i sent several mails asking them to remove them but it wasnt until I threthed with legal measurement that they actually removed them.
Houzz is a pyramid scheme amongst young salespersons and the company does not take any responsibility. If you are a designer and want your stuff to be seen with other crap on a site that definitely doesnt care about you, please be their customer.
I purchased 2 lights for my bathroom. We hung one light according to the picture on the box. No sooner we put one of the decorative bulbs over the light bulb, it fell off and shattered to pieces. Tried another and the same thing happened. There were no tiny screws to secure the bulb. You just twisted it. Very poorly constructed. It was very cheap. I contacted Houzz and they said I had to pay to return the items because they follow whatever the manufacturer return policy is. It ended up that 3 of the 4 bulbs fell out and broke. It cost us over $80 to return the two boxes. Then I get an email from Houzz saying that we were only being reimbursed for 1 not 2 because the last remaining bulb was broken when it arrived. That bulb maybe cost them $1. Those bulbs could have easily fell on me and hurt me. They could have had a law suit on their hands. I am hoping this message gets out... don't purchase from this company. They don't back up their products. I am going to post a bad review on every internet site I can and use my local TV station to try and help me get my money back for the crappy product and the shipping we had to pay. WARNING... do yourself a favor and don't waste your money. Go to Wayfair or some other place. You certainly can find what you are looking for some place else. Don't waste your money.
BUY FROM WAYFAIR, BUY FROM WAYFAIR It has taken over 20 days and my return of a table received broken is still on my front porch. Needed a photo of broken table, sent, needed another photo, had to unpack, photograph, repack, wait for authorization. Move the box out by front door wait 3-6 days to find out if they were going to pick it up or leave it for me to dispose of it. They use 3rd party vendors and have no control. CSR pleasant but ineffectual.
Houzz is a lousy, very expensive business. They shipped me broken dishware and refused to process return until I had photographed each broken piece and provided an inventory with photos to support my request. Then they shipped me the wrong color napkins (for matching placemats) and made me beg and email 5 times before agreeing to accept return but to charge me for shipping. They are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE and their return/refund policy is onerous and vexxing. DON'T BUY FROM HOUZZ.
This stuff is IKEA on a bad day. Flimsy, cheap. Instructions written in microfiche by someone other than an English speaker. Holes don't line up. Pieces are split apart. Walmart quality stuff at 3x the price. Do yourself a favor and shop at Walmart. At least its an easy return.
Never order from this scam company! They take your money, and you will never see your product! Buyer beware!
I ordered a outdoor patio set eight chairs and one table. I've been waiting way too long for the delivery. It's coming through third different carrier at this point. Still have not received it. I have to call every day. I talk to the supervisor yesterday. And when I got a email today asking for a review of the product. Which I haven't received yet. I signed onto my account and it was D activated by the supervisor I talk to yesterday. All my orders were removed. All the customer emails were voided out. And she gave me a new ID. So looks like I never existed never bought anything. I ordered a bar last month and the shelf came cracked. I had to call every other day trying to resolve it. Finally they just gave me a credit for the glass. And I have to have the glass cut myself locally. Too much time is wasted following up with these people in customer service that never do their job. Don't don't don't don't don't don't don't don't don't ever use them
Had the most awful experience with Houzz. Ordered a sideboard which arrived damaged. It took them over a month to pick up my damaged piece of furniture due to their representative providing both myself and the delivery personnel with the wrong ID number for my case. Delivery personnel ended up in Westchester while I'm in NYC, contacting a person who never requested a pick up. After several ignored emails to the representative, I started a charge back. My bank then got hold of "evidence" of houzz attempting to pick up furniture (before the ignored emails) and cancelled the chargeback. Called for several weeks to get a refund for a piece of furniture I no longer have, still keep getting the response that they can't refund because of a charge back. Once the bank processes we will be able to refund you - the chargeback has been cancelled for three weeks now! I wanted to send them the letter from the bank, proving that the chargeback is cancelled, they refused and insisted on taking care of it themselves. Received furniture in October, got it picked up mid November - it is January 11 and I am still charged for the furniture. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, NIGHTME EXPERIENCE! Steer away! Chances are, you can find the same piece of furniture elsewhere, with no problems and cheaper!
Had 4 chairs in cart late evening and the next morning when I had my credit card in hand and tried to pay they had raised the price by 10%! Those are dirty business practices. Who does that? Called customer service and they had me send the screen shot showing the price then they waited a day and told me 'sorry' we can't honor the original price. That sounds like fraud to me. When you price an item you don't change the price midstream while the customer is trying to pay. NEVER DEAL WITH HOUZZ AGAIN!
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
