The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! I ordered a bathtub a 6 weeks ago and Houzz has no idea where it is. I could have ordered this bathtub from home depot and paid $50 more but it would have been here a long time ago. The people I have dealt with at Houzz have all been professional and graceful. Their system is completely broken! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!
Took my money and then a week later cancelled my order said item was out of stock i already made plans for the furniture got rid of my old stuff. Terrible company!
I bought 600 thread of duvet cover and fitted sheet, and pillow case,
It came like 200~300 threads, Bad quality,,
They think people don't know well except someone sensitive with threads like me,
It is really different texture between 300 and 600,
It was my mistake to order from houzz.com,
Don't ever buy bedding here,
Terrible site that uses third parties. They sent the wrong medicine cabinet and when I emailed them about the issue Houzz acted as if it was my fault. It seems they must have suppliers or their managers in Asia because they only replied during Asian business hours. After more than a week of back and forth they finally sent me the correct medicine cabinet.
New credit card, used atHouzz, fraud on card before end of month. Recieved product, found it later at Walmart
I purchased a chandelier from Houzz, it is still in the box due to, doing construction in my house, I hope it was shipped in good condition. After I read so many bad reviews I wish I look up Houzz reviews before I had bought that chandelier. Houzz has my credit card number on their system on file after I made a few purchases from the company. There were a mistake made on one order that came up 3 times for the same item, then I was charged 3 times, when I call to explain the situation, the sale person told me they had already shipped those 3 items. I send the merchandise ( those 3 items) back to them and they had refused to credit me for them, I ending up paying for merchandises I never got, when I call back to result the issues, Houzz saleperson told me that they no longer have those merhandises in stock. As conclusion, I loss all the 3 items and also was charged for them. Please do youself a great favor, do not do business with Houzz, it is all SCAMS! Tata from Huntington, NY
Bought what I thought would be gorgeous sink fixtures for our bathroom renovation. Fixtures we the wrong size. Due to normal construction delays, we did not know until after the 30 day return period we could not return or be credited for the purchase. Do NOT purchase from here. They use third party vendors who suck.
I was offered a program that they started with Crystal Cabinet Works just last week. I was interested because Crystal pays 50% of what you spent if their product sells to a customer. Elise Lowerison, who were trying to make a sale called me recently and asked what do I think about this offer and if I'm ready to sign up for the program.
I took this weekend to think just to find good words to explain her why I will not sign up for $350/a month deal.
1. Looks like the only certain option to get out of the contract is death. Otherwise they still want to receive $4200 (large amount of money) for 12 month term. She actually made an example of a person, who was able to cancel a contract because he got cancer recently. She said they will work with me on my issues if I will have them.
2. They want you to pay them initial payment upfront without actually seeing an agreement. I don't mind paying some small amount without signed agreement. But she refused to show an agreement to me due to company policy. Without letting me read an agreement, without option to cancel a contract if I still alive - was most disgraceful deal I've been ever offered.
3. I was not provided any real numbers or statistic from the area where we work. Here in Bay Area, amount of real customers is very limited and they are not buying anybody services off some images on internet. They simply don't have any data to show as Houzz never really though about what they are selling from customers perspective. I don't need millions and millions of clicks on my photos. I need to know who are my potential clients, where they are and how many of visitors they can convert to potential client and share their project information with me.
After I started to explain myself, why I don't want to get into the agreement, that I don't like pay or die deal, she simply hanged up a phone.
The Vartanian support staff, designers, contractors and John Vartanian (General Contractor) were meticulous, on time, personable, and expert craftsmans. This is a real professional outfit. Would highly recommend them. Mike Jonah
I ordered a microwave cabinet and when my handyman went to put it together we found BOTH shelves with a bullnose edge were cracked down the bullnose edge. This was NOT from shipping, but the qualify of construction. We didn't have time to return it and order another, so I am having it fixed so we can use it and will make it as unnoticable as possible. I won't make the mistake of ordering here again.
We ordered a leather sectional, it was also being sold at costco so we figured it was good quality because Costco's return policy is so customer friendly. After we ordered the sectional, we looked at the houszz reviews and sort of panicked! We thought that we might be in for it! But the sectional did arrive almost on the date promised and it is beautiful. When we saw it was going to be late, we called the customer service line and they were very responsive and helpful, and made sure we were satisfied. I can't say anything bad about this company as we got a screaming deal on our sectional and it is gorgeous!
I received my order along with someone else's. The item was very poorly made and extremely cheap looking. I have sent two return requests and am still waiting for further instructions on how to return my item. Apparently this company goes out of its way to make returns difficult. Unlikely I will ever order from them again.
Purchased a 4 piece shower, wrong part was sent so plumber couldn't install it. Call after call was made trying to get the right part but they insisted it was the correct part because the vendor said it was... even after I sent a picture showing them otherwise. They finally agreed they would give me a refund but I was responsible for the return fare because " it was the correct parts", but it wasn't. And if it was broken during the return, I was responsible for that too. They are doing everything not to take responsiblity for this mess up, even with pictures and a plumber of over 30 years to verify my complaint.
They some how charged me for an order I was not aware of. I have been trying to get my issue resolved and get my money back and they are rude. They will not cancel the order. I know how to wait for the item to be shipped back and wait to be refunded for something I was not aware I was even be charged for. I never put in my Credit card info or CVV. SCAM OF ALL Scams...
I urge anyone that has had an issue with this company to contact the BBB! This is a company that should not be in business. I made a $4,400.99 purchase only to find out that the items were not even in stock with the seller. They place all types of items on their website (only 2 left) and there were none. After calling them 6x and being told they could not reach the seller, I decided to call myself and had no problem reaching them. Hey Houzz, in case you didnt know. IT IS ILLEGAL to do that! I will never purchase from this company again. Thank god the direct seller is able to cancel the order, and I can move forward with them directly. I might have to wait a little longer, but at least they are up-front with me.
I have never felt compelled to write a bad review for any company, however my experience was so infuriating and shocking I feel the need to warn others and possibly save them from this experience. This is the first time I purchased from HOUZZ and I will never purchase anything from them again. I spent more than $1,700 for a 72 inch vanity and paid for the "room of choice" delivery. WHAT A SCAM. The delivery company came to my front door, argued with me that it was just curb drop. After calling their supervisor they confirmed that it was in fact a "room of choice" delivery. Then the delivery men argue with me that they can't bring the vanity to my room of choice on the second floor because its too heavy and its only two of them there. I asked why offer service that you can't provide? His response, I paid HOUZZ for the service and they are just subcontractors. After about 25 minutes of discussion back and forth about how heavy it is the vanity was left in my entrance way. I made several calls to HOUZZ and the delivery company but was just placed in voice mail. I finally spoke to a HOUZZ customer service rep who said she would send the "correct department" an email explaining what has happened and said that I would get a call back. I never did. I then opened up the box to find the marble back splash broken into 4 pieces and the counter top cracked in 4 places with the back of the vanity split in 2 places. I took 15 photos of the damage and sent an email that same day to HOUZZ asking for a call. Waited. Waited. Waited. Nothing. I waited 2 days, and then I called customer service and was transfer 3 times and then dumped into voice mail. The only way I was able to speak to someone was to choose the automated option of "making a purchase" - - HOUZZ takes your money a lot easier than it addresses their horrible service. I was never able to speak to a manager. Nor would the customer service rep ever tell me the name of any manager. I finally was transferred to Allison a "supervisor" who offered NO satisfactory resolution. NOT even an acknowledgement of the terrible service. So I have a vanity in pieces in my entrance way, I have to wait for a carrier to come an pick it up and then only then will I get my refund.
The irony, the came vanity was on sale with Wayfair for $200 cheaper but I purchased it through HOUZZ because they said they could get it delivered quicker.
I ordered a sofa from Houzz and discovered a lower price for what I thought was a comparable sofa. To their credit, they matched the price for what was supposed to be a comparable sofa in ALLMODERN. However, the Houzz sofa had one recliner, the ALL Modern had two power recliners. Both were the same manufacturer and same photo. Shop before you buy from Houzz.
As a furniture manufacturer I did not see a benefit to advertising with Houzz. I was with them for 2 years and I maybe broke even on sales as a result of Houzz.
Their Pro Plus plan was the biggest waste of $250 per month ($3,000 total) that my business has ever spent. Their salespeople willl trick you into signing a 12 month pro plus agreement leading you to believe that HOUZZ is the wave of the future. Then they will assign you an "account manager" who will harass you for 12 months and want to schedule a long drawn out phone conference every month to go over analytics that you can easily review on your own. They want to go over this on the phone to try and confuse you to believe that you are getting more out of HOUZZ than you actually are. What it boils down to is how many people click through to your personal site. For me, it averaged out to $125 per click! My Facebook ads average about SEVEN CENTS per click. Houzz is a total waste of money. You're locked into a contract and then beware because your contract will "auto renew" if you don't cancel. Save yourself the Headache and steer clear of all things HOUZZ.
Joel Lerman of Lerman Corporation completely remodeled my Birmingham house and my Ann Arbor condominium. Joel recommended white oak floors for my kitchen. I loved the white oak so much, I had them installed throughout my entire house. Lerman Corporation designed and installed bookcases/TV unit for my den and master bedroom, several walk-in closets, and turned my lower level and garage into showplaces! Beautiful new cabinets with quartz countertops in kitchen and bathrooms gave my house a completely fresh look. Lerman Corporation's attention to detail, professionalism and artistry sets them above all others!
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
