The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

Houzz has a big problem. If your purchase is wrong or damaged you have no way of returning the item but to pay return shipping that can cost hundreds of dollars. The companies aren't as reputable as they are on other websites.
Ordered furniture through Houzz. I paid for it, received a confirmation no. And called today to get an idea when the furniture would be delivered. After keeping me on hold for quite a while, the person got on the phone and said that, Homesquare, who was the seller, had cancelled the order, without my knowlege, because the amount on Houzz' site was incorrect. I cannot believe reputable companies can get away with this. Seems Homesquare does this quite ofter, and Houzz still carries them. Why! What does that say about Houzz?
We placed an order with Houzz in early August. On the first delivery attempt, the item took two weeks to be shipped, the estimated delivery date was not met, and finally arrived four days later and had packaging damage and, resultantly, water damage. We refused the order and, after a week of going back and forth, were issued a new rug "free of charge" (!). It is now almost October and the item is two days past the listed delivery date. This item was specifically ordered far in advance for an event we have *tomorrow*. I just received a call from the delivery service notifying me that the packaging is yet again damaged and, while there is no visible damage to the item, it seems to be "dirty". Did I mention this is a very expensive rug? Fingers crossed that it is salvageable, but I have never had such a poor experience with a vendor. This was my first time to purchase from Houzz and also my last. I do not typically take the time to leave reviews for vendors but this experience was so terrible that I felt I should warn others.
I bought 4 rugs and they were due 2 weeks ago and I have chased 7 times and not had a reply to any of my emails. I have wasted a lot of time trying to get someone on the phone but they never answer. They have my money and I have no goods.
We recently attempted to use houzz website to purchase two sets of Barcelona chairs and matching ottomans. The websit failed. We phoned Houzz in Irvine and the gal said she could place our four piece request over the phone. She quoted the price and took our visa info. She placed an order for two chairs with no ottomans. Once the two chairs arriveed sans the ottomans we called and Houzz informed us that it was our problem that the order was incorrectly placed. Further, that we could spend an additional grand to get the ottomans and they would give us a 10% discount which would result in an up charge of 700 dollars to us for not buying as a set. Also Houzz does not allow returns if one doesn't have all of the original packaging. I am a landscape architect w/ offices in California and Az. I will never do business with a shabby operation like Houzz has proven to be. Buyer beware. If publicaly traded, SELL!
Initially contact was good but when I ran into a major problem things were not handled properly. I ordered Anne's for my daughter and the company houzz uses for delivery informed me that I would have to have multiple people there to pull it off the truck myself and carry it in, it weighs over 300lbs! They told me they could give me no information as to what time of day it would delivered which gave me a 8 hour window that I had to have people at my house, waiting for a delivery, that I was supposed to unload myself? To make matters worse, when the pieces arrived, all the boxes were majorly damaged and you could see the damaged pieces through the beat up boxes. Why would any company bring these boxes to someone's home in that condition. I called Houzz and explained the situation, initially they were very concerned and "seemed" eager to help stating they would definitely be offering me a discount for all the trouble and asked that I send them pictures of the damaged boxes. Once I sent them the photos and inquired about the delivery of a new bed, communication became very poor. Every time I asked about the discount I was never given a straight answer on that, a new delivery time and other questions I inquired about. At one point, the customer service stated that "they" wouldn't be charging "me" any extra for rejecting the piece and supplying me with a non damaged one, huh? That was just crazy, of course you aren't going to charge me for something that I had to refuse because it was damaged. When I told them that, and that they offered me something for all the trouble which I felt was very appropriate and pushed the subject over a couple of emails because it was clear they weren't going to follow through, they offered me a 5% discount, resulting in $65, really?
I guess I'm not the only one who is very disappointed with their purchase with his company. They just hire punch of loser to help you with your issues! My first and last purchase with them and cost me $500.
I've been trying to return a stool that was sent to me damaged for a month. This is ridiculous. The employees are like robots with their answers and promises to get back to you. Save yourself the aggravation and go to another sight. I call them at least once a day in regards to my return. This is more than a month later and it is still not resolved.
Terrible customer service and good luck getting any resolution in less than a months time. It has been 3 months since we filed a claim for a return and we only get the run around. Our ticket was closed out without us knowing and when we final did get "resolution" they sent the wrong item. Just avoid the frustration.
Total waste of my time going through a process, at the request of HOUZZ and thier seller. As soon as i requested an immediate return for the same product in working order, i was asked to jump through some hoops which included taking pictures and sending in one email, sending them the model # in another (i had included this in my original request), another email asking for a picture of the packaging box. They seemed very accommodating until it came to the point where i was offered a refund. I haven't been able to get a response now for over 2 weeks. I gave up spending anymore time on this as it's not worth the $20.00 i essentially "donated" to HOUZZ as i placed the crap product in the trash.
I would advise everyone that no matter what you find for sale on HOUZZ, it's not worth the risk of crappy product and hit or miss refund policy on these crappy items. I'm telling everyone "DON'T USE HOUZZ!" Buyers Beware.

This is my first time ordering from Houzz. I do a lot of research when ordering from new stores online and though Houzz has plenty of good reviews there were some bad ones that jumped out at me. Regardless of my skepticism, I still ordered because Houzz had the quickest shipping option for the Compostio C30 which I purchased as a birthday gift.
It took me a few days to receive a receipt and thereafter I still hadn't gotten any shipping updates, so I called their customer care line where a very friendly associate immediately fixed the issue (I had the wrong email address set as the default). My package arrived right on time, as promised with the free shipping option (very quick for free shipping) and everything was in great condition.
Not only did Houzz come in with the lowest price, cheapest shipping, and fastest shipping but they were extremely helpful and reliable. I will buy from here again!
I purchased some wall art online from Houzzz.
The day before it was supposed to be delivered (according to the order confirmation) I received an email saying it was out of stock.
However, on the site they had the same art (same stock number and all) for a higher price (granted when I bought it the web site said they had stock).
So I emailed them and told them, "Hey, you cancelled this order saying it was out of stock, however, you do have it, just for a higher price.
They responded saying it was "out of stock."
So I took snip-its of my order and the stuff they had in stock and sent it to them.
Go figure, NO response! Even funnier, a few days later they send me an email for this same art saying it's been discounted. I sent them this email as well and thanked them for the sorry customer service and not responding.
They are selling a ton of stuff cheap so they may do well, but be mindful you get absolutely 0 customer service to support the sale.
I ordered a stainless steel item Ordered but I received a white. As the color was mentioned on box i called to exchange. There was no prompt reply. After couple of days later they say I have to pay for the return shipment also a re stocking charge of 15-30 pct. I have my order confirmation from HOUZZ very clearly stating my order as Stainless Steel.
Very Very poor customer service and will never buy from then.
IF you are planning to sell on Houzz - DON'T.
They are NEVER on the side of the seller.
1. Buyers can leave whatever feedback they want. Sellers have no way of refuting them. This way buyers can really blackmail sellers into giving them deep discounts.
2. They say they vet out each review but it is not true at all. That's just an excuse for why they take so long to publish reviews from your clients and colleagues.
3. Seller support is a complete sham.
4. If you ever have a dispute with a buyer, they will always take the buyer's side. They tend to forget that it's the sellers which are paying their salaries through commissions.
5. Terrible advertising packages.
6. Terrible interface to manage your own products. They will take ages to review and approve the listing.
STAY AWAY FROM SELLING ON HOUZZ.COM. It is not worth it.
They get you to sign a 12 month contract and if you don't get a single call for 12 months? Too bad. Not willing to be flexible at all. Never really trying to help, just giving you mumbo jumbo about how they 'don't have the option' to give a discount or anything.
After waiting for more than a week for my order I gave them a call. At that point, I was told the item was no longer available at the price listed. At first they offered a coupon to re-order the item at the same price. After a few more calls I was told "Sorry, we're not going to be able to provide you with a coupon. They don't make that item anymore." Meanwhile they are still selling it at a higher price... overall, they're just not very honest or up front.
They have no price adjustment policy. The excuse was they are not the seller of the product. But they are the seller. That's who I purchased the item from. Price was reduced within two weeks of my purchased and it was their site that notified me of the reduction. After several emails with no satisfaction they reply with BEST REGARDS. Sked for me concerns to be forward to a manager but that was never done. Not interested in this site.
Terrible customer service. Incorrect item was sent to us, notified Houzz within two days of receiving item. After multiple emails and sending pictures, they still say they're waiting on seller response. I don't care if the third party seller is at fault our Houzz is at fault. All I know is it's been a month, still have incorrect item, still no refund. I'll go with Amazon next time.
I have had difficult experiences purchasing items from this website. First of all, shipping information comes by tracking number and not the name of the item and tracking number. This becomes confusing when I'm ordering many items from many different sellers through Houzz. Making a return is a complex process involving multiple emails sending pictures Etc in the case of a defective item I asked for the seller to pay for the return shipping as they should. That doesn't seem like it's going to happen. I'm sticking with Amazon from now on!
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
