The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

I am very disappointed in my experience with Houzz. I had purchased, and subsequently returned, a tv stand. The return process was so difficult and time consuming- it took over 2 months with many emails and phone calls to finally get someone to come and pick up the item and they charged me a huge return fee ( from the seller apparently) which I was unaware of at the time of purchase. In addition, when their seller's "shipper" came to pick up the item, he never called in advance to schedule a time/date, randomly showed up while I was in middle of having a dinner party, and asked one of my guests to help him carry the tv stand out! I was never compensated for my trouble and inconvenience, which any reputable retailer would automatically do because customer satisfaction is important to them. Houzz's customer service attempted to be helpful, though it seemed like they they had no control over their sellers and no policy in place to compensate customers. They said it was up to the rude and difficult seller to compensate me. What!?! I purchased the product from you, Houzz. I have never experienced anything like this in my life and I purchase furniture from online retailers all the time. Do not buy from them!
This company began by contacting designers, architects, vendors, etc. They said they were offering a new platform for them to reach out to clients and show off their work. Now Houzz has screwed every professional that helped get their website strong by selling products out from under them. Talk about a bait and switch! Designers are getting a raw deal all the way around. First it was Wayfair, company that hasn't even turned a profit but is hell bent on driving the few designers that are left out of business! Now instead of having clients go to Houzz for ideas and trends, we have to try to keep them from the website! Then to see that not only do they sell from the website but they have actually gone into pro's photos and try to sell a similar product to what they have worked so hard to put together for a client! I thought this was started to help give designers an edge in the decorative world, but it was designed to STEAL from ALL of US! If their ethics mean anything, do not trust this company!
I ordered my bed on June 28 2017 I didn't receive my partial order until August 4th even though they received payment right away. I called customer support told them the issue they told me to send pictures. I did what they asked... they told me they would get back to me they never called! So I called them they never answered and your phone number is tied to a case number so they screen your call. They told me Yesterday after calling from another phone that I could return it, but I'll have to pay the return cost. After all they only sent me a 165lb headboard without the side panels and footboard. That I paid almost $900 for. Now if you go look on the site it's not even available to be sold as a headboard alone. Please don't ever purchase from them! I'm going to my bank to file for fraudulent charges because I didn't get my complete order!
This is the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. DO NOT ORDER anything from this site. You will never get someone on the phone to resolve any problems. If you cancel something you will never hear from them, and they charge your card the second you order NOT when they ship it. They also give fake shipping information so if you call the shipper they will tell you they didn't even get orders to pick up yet even though Houzz will say they did. It has been 2 months since I cancelled an order and they still have not refunded my credit card. I've called and left at least 12 messages and 12 emails. Worst worst worst company ever.
The worst company I have ever dealt with. Received table lamp, label on box said floor lamp, I ordered a floor lamp. Now I understand mistakes can be made, what I don't abide by is: I follow instructions for a return. I'm told to send picture of incorrect item (what)? Anyway I did, got an automatic email, should hear within 3-5 days. NOT! Found a phone number which said was open 5 AM - 7PM. Called at 8AM, recording said "our hours of operation are 5 AM-7PM, Horrible customer service. Phones couple hours later, got someone, was disconnected after I uttered a few words. Called three times more, used another option, other than return, got a nice lady, named *. Hopefully I will get label for return. I was about to contact BBB. Worst company evetr!

Houzz is a nice concept but unfortunately they don't treat their sellers well, and their customer service is horrible. 1. I had issues with a listing. I called and talked to customer rep who said they'd have someone call me the following day to help. It's been 2 weeks now and no call. 2. I had a separate issue on their site. I put in a support ticket 10 days ago and still haven't gotten a reply. 3. Products I listed more than half a year ago are still in pending status. 4. I just called again and got a rep, *, who after explaining these issues to said she needed to put me on hold cause she forgot to take another call ahead of mine lol. After several minutes she came back and I reexplained these issues then she put my on hold again for several minutes and the next rep she passed me off to had no idea what my call was about. In conclusion, Houzz has the worst customer service I've ever experienced and is an absolute nightmare to sell through!

They do not stand behind products that look like one thing on their website and arrive another color. Their solution-have customer phone the company to resolve the problem. Seriously.
We ordered chairs over 3 months ago still no chairs. After about 10 calls we heard evert lie they could think of. I believe they are trained to lie. They wouldn't even give us the satisfaction of a suitable substitute. We went to Amazon with complete satisfaction.
Ordered picture frames with wall hangers, all frames came in with NO wall hangers. I sent them a picture showing that there were no wall hangers. It's a month and I'm still waiting for my refund. Houzz still has not changed the picture on there website. I will stick with Amazon.
I ordered a wall decoration to go by my fish tank. It is a surf board with a boat anchor on it. It was supposed to come with a rope "part of the anchor" and it was missing. I contacted houzz and they said the seller wouldn't send me a rope. I can either send it back with full refund or get 10% discount off of the item! What a joke, it's still very cute but for the price... all the pieces should be there! I won't order from them ever again!
I ordered a set of curtains. They did not go with the rest of the room re: color and style. Sent it back and haven't heard a thing or seen my refund@$60. What a scam! Never ever order from them. Buyer beware.
House is nearly impossible to deal with. They have no return address listed; they don't return messages; and the blame everything on others taking no responsibility themselves. They had the nerve to ask me to change my review to positive from negative even though they didn't bother to apologize for a late delivery or even accept that the product sent was defective. No one should ever do business with them. I am still not done with the ordeal.
This is the worst company I have ever done business with online. I ordered a decorative water fountain which arrived defective (it leaked). You must contact the company for return instructions which I did. They refused assistance unless I sent them a video of the damage which was impossible to obtain. The water was leaking from a pinhole in the roughly hued resin base and did not photograph. Since I could not do what they requested, they refused me a credit. Going to have to fight them through my credit card company.
Just had our windows replaced by Renewal by Andersen Casper, wyoming. They are great and already notice a difference on the heat that was coming throug old windows compared to new. The installers ( Jason, Justin and Corey) were also great to work with.
On July 31, I supposedly order three of the same type of towel rack at different sizes. I had looked at thing on the website but I never authorized payment. To browse the asked for a credit card number. My credit card was on file but I never authorized payment. Even if I had, Houzz sent me the wrong color of towel rack. I have a e-message to that stated is the item black and the response was yes. Even so I did not authorize a purchase. I called Houzz immediately but they wouldn't send me a way to get the items back for two weeks. I called 5 to 6 times and I was given a new person every time that said that they would handle it. After repeated calls I finally got mailing labels for two of the Houzz orders. However, Houzz had gone to an outside vendor for the third brown towel rack. I thought house was handling everything but on August 18th I got an answer from the outside vendor who said that they were charging me a restocking fee and mailing charges. Houzz was the one to put in the order for something I didn't even purchase. I told them it was wrong color and they said that they would deal with the vendor. Well, they didn't and I am very angry. I am still working on returning the item but this is ridiculous. If you don't want hassles, don't order from Houzz.
I've been calling houzz to no avail to return an item. When I originally ordered the item I received an email stating that my card didn't go through. I forgot about the item and just purchased something in a local store. About a month later I get a call about scheduling a delivery. Confused, I attempt to cancel the order. I couldn't reach anyone. So I have it delivered. For a month I've been calling attempting to return it and EVERY time they give me the excuse that the shipping company won't answer the phone. I call the shipping company myself. They answer but can't do anything for me. I called houzz and demanded that they wait on hold until they got an answer. Finally some leeway as they CLAIM to have set up everything with the company. Now a week has passed and Ceva their delievery company has not contacted me and refuse to assist me in picking up this item. Long story short it's been a month of a 250 pound vanity sitting in my garage, unopened and ready to be returned. It has been a HUGE headache! And continues to be one. Judging by all the comments here. They don't care.
Houzz has a lot of items which are actually being sold by a third party. I wrote to cancel an item almost immediately after ordering it, but as Houzz's website states, they will respond in "three to five days". By the time they managed to have the actual vendor contact me, the item had been shipped. The vendor states I have to pay for return shipping, and it is a very heavy and large rug. If Houzz had decent customer service, this never would have happened. I will never purchase from them again.
I was very skeptical about ordering a mattress from an online company, but after comparing multiple companies in the local area with cost of like product and delivery, we decided to give it a shot. We placed the order on Sunday and found out to our pleasant surprise that the price dropped $21 ( which brought our overall savings to around $260)... Upon placing the order we promptly received an email with a FedEx tracking number and was delivered first thing Wednesday morning. We removed the mattress from the box and removed the protective wrapping and vacuum seal plastic that allowed the mattress to expand to its original size. We were able to sleep on it the first night and after suffering with a worn out mattress I had the best night sleep that I can remember forever. I woke refreshed and my body didn't ache. Great experience start to finish and the product was as advertised. Thank you. David Q
Nice stuff until you receive a damaged item. It's impossible to get a replacement! Waiting for replacement for over a month now. When I followed up, the CSR told me she's not sure the replacement part was even ordered. Not ordering anything from there any more.
I was shopping around for some rev a shelf cabinet organizer; I found them the cheapest on houzzzz well I ordered them august 8 today is august 16 I received one of the 3 things I ordered damaged in every corner. Then I called them sent them pictures as they requested today is day 3 nothing on what's going on will they send me a new one what's going on? Oh yeah and the other 2 things yeah I haven't received any shipping information or nothing. They charged my card but I have a damaged item and no clue about my other stuff. I will never ever order from them again!
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
