The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

Just passing along a bit of info about this company and their lack of concern for customer service.
I ordered bar stools from them and after waiting a week past the promised delivery date, I received a brief email telling me the order was cancelled. No reason given, no real apology and no incentive to deal with them.
When I called customer service I was ready for one of my famous battles, but to my chagrin, they did not seem to even care. I had to goad them into an apology and an offer of 10% off another bar stool (which I promptly threw back in their face, since I did not like any of the other ones). They were more interested in getting me off the phone than in my current or future business.
So be warned if you order from them. You may be dealing with a louse in the Houzz.
Customer #******* (almost like a prison number)
Houzz is a fake. I wrote a legitimate review of a company I used to remodel my kitchen. They were horrible. The didn't know what they were doing from installing my new dishwasher to absolutely ruining the backsplash they installed. I never saw my review of the company so I am convinced that companies pay Houzz and only post the 5* reviews. Houzz charges the companies on their site an annual fee. No wonder you don't see any bad reviews of these companies!
Houzz does NOT stand by you as a consumer purchasing from the vendors on their sight. The vendors send defective goods and will not accept returns nor return your money. Also products are grossly over priced. I paid 3 times what I should have on an exact same light fixture I found elsewhere As I tell everyone. Good sight for ideas but DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HOUZZ WEB SITE!
I received delivery of Bellaterra 23.8" vanity and sink set. The sink was not what was, and still is, pictured on their site. It is. I believe of lower quality and could be easily equaled at the local Home Depot, Loews or Ikea. After 10 days and 4 telephone calls and photos, etc. I accepted a refund of $100. The delivered cost of the vanity was close to $800. I've bought directly form China, myself, to get at least a 50% lower cost and better service. I would not pay full price to Houzz to have them sent the order to a vendor I could find on my own. I gave them 2 stars because they did offer the $100 and an apology.
Use wayfair - way better stand behind their product - houzz isnt even cheaper - gives terrible customer service - you have to chase them and never takes blame for that they did - absolutely awful experience I had with them - worst internet buying experience. PATHETIC COMPANY AND PRACTICES. Avoid them at all costs or it will cost you money in the end
I wished i would have read these reviews before hand. I ordered 2 twin beds and they sent 2 double beds. I have been fighting with a fake customer service dept for over a month. They send a generic message giving deadline dates of giving a full refund that date passes and still have no refund. I am contacting an attorney to see if anything can be done. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from this company. The only reason they got a star is because it wont post without
Do Not Buy From them ever! I have been waiting for 6 months. They are a fake company and I spent $2000. 00 that I am fighting to get back.
If you order from Houzz just know that there is zero customer service if something arrives damaged or with missing parts. It has been 2 weeks since our porch swing arrived with multiple missing parts and after many calls to Houzz support... nothing, no help. The swing was $438 and without the missing parts cannot be assembled. Some of the parts are specific to the swing design (wood) and cannot be purchased at a hardware store. Houzz has the money to hire Hollywood celebrities to pimp their products, but they can't hire good customer support? Shameful.
I purchased a rocking chair for $986.40. The picture looked great, and the description stated "some assembly". When it arrived it was in such a small box the FedEx driver could not believe that there was a full size rocking chair in the box and had to double check. I refused the delivery as I had no desire or ability to "build" a rocking chair. When I notified Houzz of the situation I was told that the shipping and "restock" fees would be $593.10. I tried disputing this with the vendor ArteFac but they were not interested in my complaint. I was going to hire an interior designer off from the Houzz web site - but will save myself the pain and suffering.
Houzz is false advertising. I have decided they are too flakey and utilize bait and switch.
Placed an item in shopping cart and watched the price double immediately.
Still advertising the item at lower price but once in shopping cart, price changed and customer service says, 'o-sorry, we have no control over anything at all with regard to your shopping cart and erroneous promotional pricing'.
That's called BAIT AND SWITCH.
I ordered a bathroom vanity. I got a call from the delivery service that they were coming on Friday. They told me to call them on Thursday to see approximately what time. I called on Thursday and they said I was the 3rd delivery, so I figured around 11 AM. At 11:30 AM, I called the delivery. Now they tell me I'm much later in the day. I called Houzz to complain. I had to leave the house, so I speak again to the delivery people and they say if they hold it past Wednesday, I have to pay storage charges. Houzz sends me an email... oh so sorry, but does nothing. I called Houzz counted times, and they keep having to call the vendor. I finally call the vendor myself... long story short... they finally deliver it the next Friday, I had to sit for half the day waiting for it, and neither the vendor nor Houzz cared. I have since looked to order other stuff from Houzz and made a discovery. In the Houzz listing, they show the name of the vendor. I researched the info, found the vendor directly online, and ordered my stuff direct from the vendor... and the item was cheaper! I now use Houzz as a catalog, but I won't order direct from them for anything anymore!
Don't do it. Don't order ANYTHING from Houzz. The furniture is poorly manufactured in China. 6 weeks ago I received a shelf that was broken, damage impossible to have happened during shipping. Houzz has yet to settle my claim. I filed a claim with my credit card company and the seller submitted papers stating the replacement was shipped but what they sent were confirmations of the original order. Very dishonest. Houzz does not do diligence to ensure that sellers are doing good business. And they seem to not have a general refund policy in place. 6 weeks is a crazy amount of time to have a dispute open.
After spending couple of thousends of dollars on Houzz.com we had the worst experience possible. We wanted to return some bathroom tiles that we ordered, nobody contacted us after multiple emails, after calling at least 10 times all they kept saying is that they will have someone reached out to us by next week but one month later we are still waiting. THEY SEEM TO HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT WHAT´S GOING ON WITH THEIR FREIGHT CARRIERS OR PRODUCTS. Another order we placed for the bathroom faucet came with the drain broken. Again we sent multiple emails with no response and finally when they decided to send us the piece we were asking for, it was the wrong one (it was a random piece for the kitchen sink). THEY DO NO CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR PRODUCT, ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY.
The worst customer service I have ever felt with. If you ever have to return an item good luck! We were moving and ordered lights for the kitchen. We did not open the box until we had moved which was after 5 days of receiving our package. Once we opened it the globe was broken. Since we went beyond 5 days we can't get squat out of customer service.
Houzz gets a ZERO from me! Don't believe what you see on TV. Ordered lights which said they were black. They came and they were iron/ grey. Customer Service has taken 3 weeks to ALLOW me to return them and not offered to pay shipping. They were more willing to loose a customer and have a bad review then to just pay the shipping. Great job Houzz!
Tim Ford - Owner of A Perfect Coverage did a great job for us! We needed some interior repairs and remodeling done. Not a big job by any means but important to us (laundry and bathrooms). Tim came and did a thorough inspection and gave us a comprehensive estimate. He was very polite and courteous. On the day of the job, he came early and single handily did everything needed. He was patient in answering our questions while staying focused on the task at hand. We were very pleased with his work and the price we paid to have it done. He has our highest recommendation.
To all potential houzz customers. DO NOT buy from this website! They do not operate in an ethical or professional manner. They do not honor their prices and they do not value their customers.
I just moved to Houston and need to furnish the whole entire house. I'm a stay at home mom on a budget and I need to find deals wherever I can. I have been checking several websites at all different hours, day and night and I came across what I thought was a great deal at houzz.com and placed my order on 09/20/17. I received a confirmation at checkout and an email as well.
Two days later (09/22/17), I received another email that my order was not able to be fulfilled. On the website, they were still selling the products that I ordered just at a higher rate. I called the company to find out why my order was not able to be fulfilled and was told there was an error in pricing.
Most companies would honor whatever the advertised price is since it is the law in several states, as well as the right thing to do for the customer. But not houzz.com. All they offered was a 10% discount. Come on houzz.com! Do the right thing and honor your advertised price.
I recently ordered a light fixture from Houzz. Their selection, prices and customer service are outstanding!. I had a problem with the light which was no fault of Houzz, so I contacted the customer service department. They quickly responded and rectified the situation!. I am now a loyal customer and will recommend them!.
They are a store front and have no uniform policy.
Making a return for manufacture defect has catch 22 pitfalls. I bought a light fixture, and after the electrician installed it I noticed the fixture was leaking light from the corner seams. Since it was installed, the 30 day return policy does not apply, I had only 5 days from delivery to teturn. Really?
the shipping company AGS that the rug was delivered with was horrible to work with. The houzz representatives were somewhat helpful but also did not follow through on contacting me multiple times when they told me they would be calling to check in on if the shipping company had picked up the damaged rug. They also sent me multiple emails that were different than what the houzz returns person I talked to (Kasey A) had told me. She told me to just leave the rug outside to be picked back up and that I did not need to do anything to contact the shipping company and then I received an email telling me to schedule a pickup which turned out to be very complicated and again made me deal with the AGS shipping who have horrible customer service and were completely unreliable. Overall I am very unsatisfied and would not shop at houzz again or recommend it to anyone. The entire process took over a month from ordering the rug to a month later having it delivered completely ruined to two weeks of dealing with it getting returned to a week after that finally getting my money back. Horrible and completely unacceptable.
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
