I ordered an accent chair that was listed as available for delivery within a week or so. I then received a message from the seller that they needed a couple more days but shipping was delayed by a month. Then Houzz contacted me notifying me of the delay, while at the same time still listing the chair with a delivery time of one week, and Houzz still does on their site.
Meanwhile, I'm told my chair won't arrive for at least another three weeks now.
Ridiculous and unprofessional.
I had a problem with the delivery address for my queen bed. Despite the fact that the order had shipped and was due to be delivered in less than 24hr, I spoke with the Houzz customer service member who assisted me in rescheduling my delivery. He was very polite.

Being a custom home builder we are tax exempt and that process was seamless. They had the product I needed in a pinch and shipping was super fast.
This bed was exactly what I wanted and expected. It was very well packaged, no nicks, dings etc and easy to assemble. It was also shipped quickly. Overall very happy with the purchase!
I have placed many orders with Houzz and I find them to be very reliable. They offer a wide variety of merchandise that appeals to me.
We hired a contractor that was highly rated on Houzz and who received multiple Houzz honor/badges. Long story short -- it was a horrible experience: uneven flooring, collapsed shelving (see photo), sloppy tiling, doors that won't close, etc. I went back to Houzz to more carefully inspect all the positive reviews and it became clear that they were fake. I submitted ample evidence to Houzz and requested that they look into it further. Their response made it clear they had no interest in investigating fake reviews. They said I should leave a review of the contractor to help inform others which I did, but they never published it. My investigation revealed a wide web of fake reviews present on multiple contractor pages.
I understand the need for consumers to do research before hiring someone and I certainly wish I was more thorough, but for a company to lend their credibility with awards and badges to vendors that are paying for false positive reviews is shameful. And on top of that, Houzz won't publish the negative review I submitted for the contractor. They suggested I go to houzz.help.com to see why my review wasn't published and I got the error screen pictured below.
Remodeling is stressful enough, save yourself the trouble and find your contractor elsewhere.

I am still awaiting instruction on how to resolve my damaged delivery item. I promptly reported (report was acknowledged) then provided requested pictures. 4 days later I have not heard a response.
When the delivery truck came to deliver our order he entered the property thru a gate clearly marked that this entry was not for large trucks. He damaged the gate to our complex... it was destroyed and needs extensive repairs. I reached out to Houzz and did not get any reply back. I understand they outsource delivery; however, i would have expected some action or reply from Houzz as i did not hire the delivery driver - they did.

No one followed up after the initial follow-up and warning that it would take 4-5 days to move forward. These items (two lamps) need to be returned absolutely. Please contact me about the status of my return! S

I called to put a hold on the delivery of my outdoor patio set because I would be away during the initial delivery date. The person on the phone was very helpful and arranged everything. The patio set came as scheduled. It is a beautiful set and I am very happy with my purchase.

So, you purchase in Houzz.com but they have individual seller and they don't have free return like Amazon or other sites. Bella Depot request a lot of things before being able to send the fans back. The fans that I bought through Houzz cost 150.00 each and the shipping cost to return them cost me 141.50. If you are making a big purchase go with someone else that can offer you free returns because if you are not satisfied with the merchandise you will be stock with it, re selling it or paying like me the full return cost.

Ordered and received quickly. Got a stainless version instead of a black version. Requested replacement and got an automated response form a John Smith that it would get addressed within 24 hrs. Still waiting for resolution as bathroom project on hold.

Searching local retail stores for a specific piece of artwork for several months. I never came remotely close to finding this unframed canvas medium to large artwork with a specific theme for a specific room - my bedroom. Reluctantly went online. Frustrated because in my mind I have envisioned what was desired for artwork on the wall and could not as of yet find. My long awaited new additional space (originally the patio) was constructed into a room ( with walls, windows & a door) adjacent to the bedroom & now extends the room. I needed that piece of artwork. Reluctantly going online knowing it would be risky for there was no in person to visually see the product. Knowing the theme/design, colorization, size, the specific site Houzz brought up a painting that appeared to be what I desired - it appealed to me. Hand painted by an established artist it was however I believed quite over priced@ over $300.00. At this point I decided to forge ahead & purchase. The package came surprisingly just a few days later. Packaged & wrapped ever so securely I took it out. Just how the site had described, shown visually - in love.
Houzz had the lowest price for two side chairs which were delivered cleverly packed. Easy assembly. Chairs as expected but would have appreciated better workmanship and more attention to detail.
The chair came packaged very well with little waste. Easy to put together. Looks as good as in the photos. So happy with this purchase :)

Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!

Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
