I have used Hotwire before multiple times. My previews experiences ranged from ok, to good, and a few times great; thus it is with much sadness that I feel obliged to inform others of my most recent hotel stay disappointment. I reserved a room for 4 adults. When I arrived to the hotel, there was a queen bed and a full sofa bed, which is not what was advertised. I asked the hotel to trade room to one with two queen beds, since the full sofa bed mattress was quite uncomfortable. They explained it wasn't possible because the hotel was full, but suggested contacting Hotwire since they were responsible of booking the studio room fully aware that it was for four adults. When I called Hotwire, they apologized, asked the hotel for a rolling bed, which they didn't have, and after 50 minutes, they agreed they'd call back the next morning placing us in a different hotel. I called them back around 4 hours after the agreed time and I still hadn't heard from them, and the representative requeted to talk again to the hotel management. After I asked for them to read the previews night conversation notes, they offered to give us the previous night free, and to move us to a different hotel. However, they couldn't come up with a hotel with two queen beds and the same characteristics as where we were alrady staying. I asked to talk to the person's supervisor but they said they were sorry, but I couldn't. Resigned but acknowledging their good faith offer, I opted to stay were we were, and to receive the previous night free. However, they retracted. They were giving us a free night only if we moved to the hotel with queen beds and no free breakfast. In summary, they didn't honor the accomodation for 4 adults, failed to call back as promised after there were complications, and would not reimburse even though they acknowledged the false advertising.
Always have this site avaiable. I get the best bargains and rates. No matter where im going i use Hotwire.
Hotwire gets my back covered with last minute bookings on flights and hotels. I get amazing discounts too
Hotwire sent me to a Counrty Hearth Inn Catersville Gaand it is a crack head drug, prostitute invested Truckers whorehouse. I am very upset that Hotwire would allow any of its customers to stay here. It is very dangerous for families or young single girls to come here. You can be held Liable for suggesting this place. I will visit every review to rate Hotwire and this hotel as the worst experience. I have a pet with me and was limited to my choices but this should be taken off your list immediately for the safety of your customers, as I am will never trust Hotwire again! Hotwire is not actively involved in what they suggest or do they appear to care
Dear Hotwire, After I completed purchase and booked an hotel room via Hotwire, I found out that the price for the same room in the same booked hotel's website was not far from costing the same price, for the same room in the hotel's own website at similar time (if you count the fact that in Hotwire's site, the price didn't include breakfast, whereas in the hotel's site breakfast were included). Moreover, In Hotwire's website, it was mentioned that the price is 59% off then the regular price for similar room (the cited price that was showed for the room was 279$?! Per night in Hotwire's site whereas in the Hotel's site it was less than 150$). Well, that is a pretty much a lie. Regarding the fact that Hotwire's model suppose to be based on trust, I will never again going to book a room via Hotwire, and I will make sure that neither my family nor friends.
After years of using hotwire, they've lost my business forever after I was trested very poorly by the customer service staff and one of the hotels they work with.
Hotwire is ok, but for airfare only make sure you check all the others.
Don't let this company rob you, worse costumer service, hard to understand, worse policies! Rented a car, and I had to cancel, there's no room for mistakes and no mercy with this company, my trip was canceled, they would not refund me or let me change my reservation, please even If you have to spend $10 with another company It would be worthy.
My experience with hotwire was great when I was in Canada, when I moved to Germany, the website is really a problem for your journey instead of being a facilitator or solution. First, Hotwire overrate the hotels, instead of being 3 stars, they rate it 4 stars. I booked a hotel that was described as "elegant hotel" and 4 stars, and when I got the hotel name, I found it was a piece of garbage, and worth not more than 2 stars. I called Hotwire and they said it was rated by Expedia and we follow their rate (their partner).
The second issue, I found the hotel way cheaper on booking and even the hotel website.
Ok, Hotwire was not bad when it comes to America and Canada, but it sucks in Europe
So I booked a hotel for a great deal. But the problem is that the room is always the hotels standard or lower room for two people. If you have 4 people and need two beds, you don't have a choose of that. And most hotels will only let one rollaway in a room and will charge for it. It's not the hotels fault. You need to read the fine print with hospice. Sure you get a $200 room for $89. But you don't get to pick the room, no matter how many people or request you put on the reservation. The hotel gets a reservation from hitting for 1room only and the hotel can pick what room to give you. If you need a double or want a suite or special things then don't book on hotwire. It's such a headache. And if the hotel is booked they still put your reservation through as if it isn't. But they don't tell you that the hotel is booked. They are horrible. They screwed up my reservation 3time now. Would not use them unless I wanted a headache.
First time using Hotwire, definitely last!
I always book my flights online and never had issues. This time, I booked a flight from FLL to YUL (four tickets) but unfortunately I did not pay attention to the confirmation e-mail. Two weeks later when I did look at the confirmation e-mail, I noticed that the itinerary was actually YUL to FLL and return (they reversed the To and From). I called customer service and two hours later they determined it was my fault and I will have to pay $200 plus difference in ticket price for each traveler. She gave me a total price of $1012 (on top of the $1148 that I already paid) and since I had no choice, I accepted. The next day I get a receipt for $1361. I called customer service again and she said that there are taxes of $354 added to my tickets (their prices include taxes, so they are charging me taxes on top of taxes). And of course, they told me I couldnt cancel the transaction, so my initial bargain ended up costing more than double. Shame on you Hotwire, from top management down to the bottom.
Another antiquated business that needs you to create yet another marginal internet account instead of using top-level single sign on SSO providers e.g. Google, Facebook
This is my first time and will be my last time using Hotwire. Bad services. Do not value customers at all, totally not being considerate. They should not even have customer services since it is a waste of time calling.
I gave them 10/10 because of their efficiency. They really did an awesome job for me. I am very impressed.
I like using hotwire to plan my trips, generally has good prices listed for hotels and other travel options.
If I could have selected a negative star, I would have. My husband and I are relocating out of the country and needed a place to stay with our two cats after our house was packed up. We booked a hotel through Hotwire only to find out when we got there at 10 p.m., that they didn't accept pets. We immediately called Hotwire from the car and were told that they would not refund our reservation because we failed to choose "pet friendly" on the incredibly hidden amenities tab when first searching for a hotel. Hotwire chose to leave us stranded instead of refunding our money and re-booking. We will NEVER book with Hotwire again.
I wish you guys had gave us a room even a quarter nice as you advertise. We spent all we had to come see my son graduate from the marines and it would have been nice to stay at a descent place to reward him. Instead you robbed us of the opportunity to give him a that! He slept more comfortable in the barracks! You guys advertised a 3 star hotel and we got put in a Horrible location in a dirty old hotel! I was afraid for our saftey there and I was very embarrassed to show family where we had been put. Thanks alot for ripping us off and way to treat a U.S. Marine. Also after comparing the price it would have been 16 dollars cheaper per night to book the same dump with out hotwire! Also I had to actually pay way more per night ON TOP of what I paid hotwire This was the only time we have went on a family trip and was the worst experience I have ever had. Im so upset to have lost all that money on this place and wish I never used hotwire. It's just not right to do this to people who work hard and saved the little money we had to be there for our son I feel robbed and disgusted I advise you All to look for your own hotels and book them yourself and if you are not able to afford fancy places I advise you to find your own descent place and ask if they would give u the same deal hotwire would which would probably be the same anyhow if not cheaper! They advertise 3 or 4 star places and say tey cant tell you which hotel it is until aftery you pay! Of course because after they get your money you wont get a refund when you try to get out of the hell hole they put you in!
This was my first time booking a flight and it was for my college spring break. I decided to go to Chicago to visit my family. I decided to save up so that I could afford a cheap flight and have a little money for some things. I was able to book a flight round trip for about $150 which isn't great but it was good. I love to online shop and booking plane tickets can be very similar, one thing about online shopping is that it is tedious and if you went the right information wrong it can really screw you over. So I am a very thorough online shopper and I am very proud of that. I will ask a hundred times my friends and parents opinions before I purchase anything. So I was very through in making sure that I had everything about this flight correct because I know that there are a lot of things that can go wrong. When it said from Atlanta to Chicago and THEN from Chicago to Atlanta it was right. It wasn't until 2 days later that I received an email saying the opposite of that. I called Hotwire in a panic worried that all of my spring break money would be waisted on a flight I couldn't even take. They kept me on hold for 15 minutes which isn't that bad for a customer service line. (I waited for a spirit rep. For 54 minutes) but after speaking to someone they told me A.) that they could not control my flight for spirit- so I had to call spirit directly and not get a refund as well as paying $45 on top of that. And B.) that the second flight which was American airlines, would cost me another $200 on top of the already paid ticket to change. All of this extra money for a mist I didn't make... I don't know if the website does this to get more money or it really was just a glitch but wither way it is bullsh*t that I am using all of the money saved for this trip just to get there. I was not happy with how this was handled and I've tried reaching out multiple ways but have yet to hear a reply. So f u Hotwire
I always book my hotels through Hotwire. You get more room for your money. I've never had a problem. You're giving way money if you don't use this website.
I used their car rental service and services were amazing on the nominal rates. Love their services and I'll come again.
Answer: In my case it was only when I convinced a Hotwire customer service representative that I needed to speak to her supervisor that I got any "service."
Answer: Phone the hotel to confirm your booking at the rate you paid. Make sure you get the name of the person you talk to and maybe have him send you an E Mail confirmation.
Answer: They can't. For me it's $1400 (more characters to post answer)
Answer: Pay for it then you'll know. Don't book through these people. Read the reviews. I'm still upset with myself for paying lots more than I could have gotten it directly from the Hotel itself. There is no customer service.
Answer: No. I didn't see Richards Hotel on the list. Having said that I've never been to Richard's Hotel it could be great. They just don't show it as one of them. Be kind to yourself read the reviews and stay away
Answer: Never share your credit card info... they double bill you
