If I could give no stars, I would. Booked a room through their "hot deal". The room they gave us was advertised as a $180 hotel. In reality, it was a $109 hotel. Would not cancel my reservation. Would not help in any way. Very misleading and a scam. I will dispute this on our credit card and will NEVER use them again.
I did try to make reservation for car rental. The hot wire webside ask for put all of my information including my credit card info and until last minutes and immediately after i found out they charged my credit for no exchange and none refundable reservation. I called customer service talked even to manager and told them this is the first time i'm using your webside and please refund it since its less than 15 minutes and I was just try your website. They denied and did not refund my money. This is very fraud and unacceptable what they do and i hope government they look after them.
To be fair it has been 3 years since this happened. I was reminded by Facebook of a post a made and was not ready to deal with at the time. Here was my post from 3 years ago.

This has been an extremely hard week. This coming Friday I was supposed to take a trip to New York with my mom. She passed away a week ago. I had already scheduled the trip... plane tickets, 2 hotels, and a rental car. I have had to call and cancel everything. 3 out of the 4 companies took me at my word when I said I needed to cancel my trip due to my mothers passing. All but HOTWIRE! I had to send in a death certificate and an obituary to prove that first I am related to my mother and second that she really did die. I have faxed my papers in and now I am waiting to see if I get a refund.
Every vendor that I booked was non-refundable. Every vendor was compassionate and understanding that this was beyond my control. Every vendor besides Hotwire refunded me without documents.
I WILL NEVER USE HOTWIRE FOR ANYTHING AGAIN!
I used Hotwire for my business trip and things keep on pilling.
Aifare tickect was wrong and was supposed to get a refund and never got i.

The price was cheap but the hotel was located in aunsecured area which I called and told them about but the answer I've got was sorry for the inconvenience this is our company policies.
Spoke with CSR and transferred to Upper Management and still not being resolved.
This company do not deserve to be in business.

BEAWARE they always put the tag "Sales Final" on all their transactions I wonder why? If they were that good they should not put that tag because it will make people feel like they are not professional.
I guess this will be a lessons for everyone to learn not to book through them.
Definitely be extremely careful when booking anything with them.
Read their disclosure and yes we all do it we click book because the prices seems to be right to us at the end the hassle of getting a backup flight, or backup hotel is a stress and to dispute the charge with the bank is also time consuming.
Lesson to learn no more cheap stuff from Hotwire.
They are LOONEY and UNPROFESSIONAL in phone and their employee have no trained skills to respond to customers demand.
They are trained to only say "I m sorry to hear about your problem, let me see what I can dot" or their other most used tag "Sorry this is our company policies".

I frequently place orders through hotwire.com because of their price and service is typically better than their competitors. I ordered car service from 6/11-6/16. Within my week of booking I see that both hotwire.com and other competitors are significantly cheaper than what I bought. Examples are: Hotwire current= $141.32 Expedia= $134.00 priceline=$123.20 all taxes included. I paid last week a total of $192.54. I called today and spoke to a total of 4 people. Two of the representatives were supervisors. Eric was the first supervisor i spoke to and before he hung up the phone with me he said "I am allowed to end this call because I already went through our policy." My second experience with a supervisor was with MichaelAngelo, and he told me... "today is not your day, there is nothing we can do?". One time i was hung up on, and the last time I could tell they wrote in their "notes" do not help this customer because NO ONE would talk to me after. How is it that hotwire can advertise price guarantee? It's such a scam! The level of customer service I received is outright horrible! It's 2018 I booked a reservation last week and within that week i was using a reservation I booked through hotwire from 4/21-4/28. Sad to see a company rather sacrifice their customers than settle $60. NEVER AGAIN!
Hotwire not Hot any longer! I paid more on this "hot deal" then I would have booking direct with the hotel. On top of that the hotel room was disgusting. The worst I have ever seen. Rude customer service and no refund!

I use Hotwire's Hot Deals to shop the cheapest rental car, as it usually doesn't matter who you use as long as it's one of the majors. In cities that I'm familiar with, I'll use the hot deals for hotels, as I'll usually have a good idea what specific hotel it is depending on what part of town it's in. For non-Hot Deal rates, I find that they're really no cheaper than any of the major travel sites, so no value for me there.
Hotwire just got me with false advertising on a car rental that is "nonrefundable."
Booking in Vegas. They listed one SUV as being "In Terminal" PAY NOW to get this deal. The 4 listings under it all said "Shuttle to Vendor." PAY LATER.
I have a family and a lot of bags. I went with the pay now option to get the rental car at the terminal. As soon as it was paid for it listed the rental company that required a shuttle! In fact, Hotwire is talking advantage of anyone who is not familiar with Vegas as ALL car rental places require a shuttle and there was no reason for me to pay on the spot except for them to lock me in and take my money through false advertising.

Attending a funeral date changed by one day. Booked through Hotwire and purchased travel guard insurance just in case. They want 7days to review with their claims adjuster and require a certificate of death. Also, an additional 2 weeks to cut a check mailed for reimbursement. So I have to buy another ticket and pray the claim is approved. I called travelguard first and they directed me to call the airline Delta, Delta directed me to call Hotwire. Hotwire said to call travelguard. This started at 10am to 1:21PM
We had booked a hotel through HotWire, but the hotel was not clean; therefore, we decided not to stay there. We called HotWire to complain about the cleanliness of the room and requested a refund as we refused to stay there. The customer service representative was so kind, helpful, and understanding. They understood our concern, empathized with us, gave us a refund, and filed a complaint about the hotel, Red Roof Inn in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition, we have been booking hotels through Hotwire for several years now, and we have always been satisfied with the hotels and the prices. Thank you HotWire support team.
I booked a "Hot Rate" room. The surprise hotel and room I received was not a hot rate. I was charged by Hotwire a little more than what the hotel charges directly on their website. Additionally, they had a TRUE Hot rate for the same amount that included $30 worth of food.
I called Hotwire customer service and she could not find the special rate with food, and offered to refund the difference (a dollar or so) in price.
THIS is not why I use Hotwire. I use Hotwire to get the best rates, not get charged MORE and offered pennies. Obliviously Hotwire can not be counted on for good deals anymore. I will be stopping using their service from here on out. If I am going to pay the same amount, then I will just book more directly and choose my hotel myself. Or use one of bargain services.
I booked a hot deal hotel that advertised 50% off of the normal rate, but I wouldn't know the hotel in advance. The hotel that gave me is disgusting and it is only a few dollars off of their normal rate. Hotwire customer service agents were extremely rude and snarky and would not offer a refund or switch me to a decent hotel. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she hung up on me. I tried to call back to figure out who she was, but nobody would help me.
I reserved a car rental thru hotwires website for 3/20/2018 8:00 PM at Melbourne International airport MLB hotwire itinerary# *******304. When I arrived to pick up my car the lady at dollar laughed a little and said sir its spring break and bike week in Daytona I have not had a car to rent for two days and are not expecting any until tomorrow after 4:00. She also said hotiwire does this to them all the time. So I call the hot-wire number to to some guy in India named Tom. He told me that he has to confirm there is nor cars so while I am standing at the counter like a idiot he calls and she tells him the same thing no cars anywhere in the airport at any counter to rent for the night and to stop sending people with bad reservations she was tired of it. So I have arrived with my family at 8:00 PM and no car its raining like mad outside and hotwire does ZERO. And they have promised me a refund but after 8 days I dont have it. So if you make a reservation with hotwire it means NOTHING only rent directly from the company you are working with no 3rd party or you will be left stranded like I was by hotwire. And the dam thieves refuse to return my money even though they gave a no good reservation. Some one need to start a class action lawsuit against these guys and make them pay up.
For our 20th Anniversary along with my birthday weekend, we trusted Hotwire. We were severely burned and will never use their services ever again. They fraudulently rate hotels with higher star ratings to trick customers into believing they will be getting the quality and amenities of the star rating they choose, but just not know what hotel they are getting. Expect to be scammed, ripped off and then refused a refund when you call them out on it. I am actually filing a dispute with my credit card company and leaving this review everywhere to warn other customers not to ever trust them. I will also file a complaint with the better business bureau.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Hotwire assigned me wrong car pickup address, and no car reserved though reservation confirmed! Destroyed my travel plan, refund only in their credit. What is the point of getting those credit if I don't plan to use your service again?
I booked a car rental for my husband who will be in SFO for a convention on May 29. Unfortunately, he was scheduled to go to another place for a meeting and would not need that car. I looked for my reservations in their website and could not find any cancellation option. I checked the confirmation email and found out that the rate that I got was a HOT RATE and would not get my money back. Come on it is only Mar 8 and the convention is not going to happen until May 29 - that is roughly 2.5 months from now. I called to ask for a cancellation and get a refund of the amount that I paid for 4 nights. I was told that I could not get my money back... what? You book a nonrefundable hotel and if you cancel, they only charge a 1 nt charge at the most. They took my money just like that.
This is a bad business practice and will never book with HOTWIRE for any other travel needs for that matter. We travel 10-12 times a year and mostly need a car. This is the first time I have booked with them after a long time. If you are wise enough, stay away from them. This is a BAD business practice and there was no notice during the booking process that the rate that I booked in was a non refundable rate. I just found out when I tried to retrieve my confirmation so I can find my reservations and log in... BY ALL MEANS, STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I am disputing this charge and will not stop until I get my money back. And yes... I will flood all links to HOTWIRE reviews so I can let other online shoppers to stay away from this unfair practice.
Deal was the same price as booking.com, but with less options. Regular Customer service was appalling, no flexibility and no care for customers. Corporate customer service is simply impossible to reach (tried 15 times and always ended up on voicemail). It was my first and last time booking a room through this site.
Terrible Customer Service. I was on hold for 4 hours one day. Had to call back the next day to try again. I booked a car for Friday- Sunday. My plans changed and I had to be there Thursday so I need to add a day... more money for hotwire you would think. They tell me there is nothing they can do. I can make a separate reservation for Thursday. But, if I do this, I will pick a car up Thursday, drive 100 miles to where I'm going to stay, have to drive back to the rental car company the next day, sign papers and get an identical car, then drive back to where I'm staying. They are absolutely terrible. I will never use them again!
It was worst experience booking through Hotwire.com I booked for a 4 star hotel in Langkawi when the hotel was revealed it was so disappointing, I payed for a room which I was getting for lower price else where with breakfast included. I sent my feedback immediately after booking they just started teaching their policies, what about lowest price guarantee policy? Which they did not speak about, later when I checked their website about lowest price guarantee, they mention show us lowest price elsewhere and take back difference amount within 24 hours, this wasn't mentioned by their support team while I checked this policy later, even in that case the difference amount + the breakfast for two to be refunded. While I would want whole of my money back as I had to pay extra at the reception to choose a better room, it wasn't even a standard of 4 star. Final verdict I want my money back from Hotwire.

Answer: No. I didn't see Richards Hotel on the list. Having said that I've never been to Richard's Hotel it could be great. They just don't show it as one of them. Be kind to yourself read the reviews and stay away
