Reserve a car had to change plans because father was in the hospital. Hotwire did not want to refund because it was so called a hot deal becareful they are scumm bags wanted me to ask the Doc for a letter of explabation aswell wanted parent name time date and cause they said not guaranting the refund just have to run it by my Supervisor. My wife just said forget it there is to much on our plate at the moment we will just lose out on $156.00
Never will use them again 07-27-2018
Booked our vacation resort through hot wire. Drive all day, waited in line an hour for check in only to be told "Hotwire sold you a room we don't have". We were left with nothing and charged for the room. Hotwire did NOTHING to help. No rooms available last minute and took 4 days to refund my money. They RUINED our trip
It starts off with 3 hotel options;. Eg. Two are 4.5 stars and the third being 3.5.
Anyone who knows probability will agree that your chances of nailing a 4.5 star hotel in this scenario is 2/3 (66.66%), but this hot scam is guaranteed to land you the least rated hotel - ALWAYS!
Plus, I ended paying extra fees at the hotel which the site did not disclose. To make matters worse, hotwire has the highest booking fee in the industry = 13% and they will not give you a refund upon cancellation. I called to complain about hotel extra charges and they literally laughed at me on the phone.
In summary, I got a 3.5 star hotel at $95/night on website, but ended up paying $140/night. Tax was only $12.35.
DO NOT USE hotwire!
Expedia is more transparent and reliable enough to resolve quickly any issues that may arise.
Thank me late.
We got a room on Hotwire. Got the confirmation email. We thought it was all good... Drove 3 hours with three kids to have a fun getaway weekend. Go to check into room Hotel doesnt have our confirmation. Call Hotwire. They confirmed our reservation. They called the Hotel they were booked as well as every other hotel with in 45 mins. All we got was a sorry. Its now very late with 3 kids. All we could do was drive home. DO NOT COUNT on Hotwire!
What great customer service from Hotwire!
Not only was I able to change the name on my reservation but, oh wait a minute I couldnt because their to busy on their high horse that they dont let you change jack squat after you agree to terms.
Their excuse: changes are not allowed because it is a locked rate.
What men cost more then women to rent a car or something, so I cant put the reservation in my hubbies name because it will change the rate?
What sort of company wont let you change the name on a reservation because it has a locked rate?
I even called the 800 number and sat on hold for over an hour before hanging up because I was tired of waiting for someone to pick up. I downloaded their stupid app so I could try to chat with a person (yes I had to download the app just so I could get in touch with a person).
I for one am done with this company. L and will never use them again.
I booked what I thought was a 4star hotel going by hotwire star ratings and price point and I believe this has to be a scam and my advice to everyone is not to use Hotwire. You are not getting a bargain. The hotel I got Ambassadors Bloombury London is definitely not a 4star hotel. Hotwire gave a rate of nearly $300 a night when Trivago and other sites were selling the same rooms for abot $110. For that price, I got a room that was so tiny and sparse that it could pass for a jail room. One bed, one tiny, tiny table and a single chair and that was it. The bathroom was so small, they actually leave the soap and shampoo in the room. Worse still, there is no shower tray so after you shower the floor is wet. Imagine using the toilet and your feet is on wet floors? It is so bad that you can't even sit normally on the toilet bowl as the toilet paper holder is too close to the bowl and your knee brushes against it so you have to sit side ways.
All of this and Hotwire rates this a 4 Star and charges over double what others are. It's a disgrace. This has completely ruined my holiday and experience. My advice to anyone booking with hotwire is when you express an interest in one of the hotels and you get the pop-up saying it would be one of 4 hotels, please don't book yet. Go to Trivago or other price comparison sites and check the prices there. You will find they are offering a better deal.
I brought my kids to a last minute trip to the beach. We decided to get a hotel room and we searches 2 or 3 different websites for deals in hotels. We ended up choosing one of Hotwire deals. I searched for hotel rooms in Ocean City Maryland and it give me many different areas. After checking the bill which was very much double of what they were promoting (the hotel was charging $50 at night and Hotwires fees and taxes made it more than $100 a night) but we needed a place to stay so I reserved 2 rooms. Once I was able to see the full information it showed me that the hotel was in Atlantic City, Galloway IN NEW JERSEY! And I was in Maryland with no intentions to drive more than 5 hours away. I called immediately, maybe 3 minutes after paying and they told me that IT WAS NON REFUNDABLE. I tried talking to supervisors and they told me that they have ways to see that I was the one who made the mistake, but they offered me $50 back! I didnt have enough money for a hotel so I had to drive back home. I am so disappointed and upset. They ruined the little time I had to relax. I live 3 hours away, but what if they do this to a tourist coming from another country? They would be stuck on the streets! DO NOT USE THEM. They are shameless and they do not care about the costumers. They only want your money.
I attempted to book a weekend away using Hotwire. When I went to "click" which hotel I wanted my computer screen jumped and I hit the wrong property. I immediately called Hotwire to correct the property. I was informed that they would have to refund me and I would have to pay for the new reservation. I agreed and specifically told the Representative that I wanted to stay in the in Plainview/ Melville property, I described the property, price, area exactly how it appeared on Hotwire's website. When I received my confirmation, I was booked in a COMPLETELY different hotel, which is now a motel, in a completely different unsafe area. I called Hotwire to have this issue corrected but I was informed that I would have to pay AGAIN (3rd time) in order to have a refund. I do not have any more money. I also do not have the reservation that I requested or, a safe place to stay. I just want a refund OR the correct accommodations without having to pay more money which I do not have. I called every telephone number I could obtain for Hotwire but nobody would give me the corporate office or even the number to customer service to obtain a refund. All I wanted was to switch the motel to the hotel in my desired area without being charged for the 3rd time. I finally, after calling 6 times, spoke with a supervisor, Eric. He told me that the town I wanted (Melville) did not exist and could not do nothing for me. I cannot cancel nor will they let me get the hotel i wanted. Eric was very unprofessional and hung up the phone on me. I called again and asked for the the Corporate office spoke with another supervisor, Amanda, and again, was given the run around. I tried to explain what was going on and she said she could not do anything for me. I am not getting a refund, and I do not feel safe with the motel that was booked without my consent. I need my money back. I believe I am a victim of bait and switch and Hotwire is stealing my money by forcing me to stay somewhere I do not want to stay.
Hotel was actually a motel- breakfast was supposed to be included- it was a grab and go - granola bars only- dirty- no maid service.
Hotwire advertises a Low Price Guarantee. I booked a hotel room through Hotwire and then found a lower price through Priceline.com I called their customer service department who instructed me to take a screen shot of the lower price and send it to them. The agent told me she guaranteed I would be reimbursed for the difference if I did this. I sent proof of the same hotel, on the same date, same everything, as instructed, but Hotwire will not stand behind their low price guarantee.
Horrible experience, maps grossly mis represented distances and customer support was no help at all. Even though I have stage 3 cancer and tried to explain the hotel turned out to be much further then the map showed, they wouldn't let me change hotels even thru their own site! Took a chance and learned my lesson, pleas learn from my horrible experience!
They advertised a hotel as $330 original price a night and after i booked it, i looked it up to find out that it is ~$250 every where else online, even the official website. I could even get it for slightly cheaper by booking with my silver membership on hotels.com. I called to make a complaint but they would not allow cancellation. Isn't this UNETHICAL, even ILLEGAL to tell customers they are getting a more expensive room for a deal, while it isn't a deal at all?
Every time I book with Hotwire, my expectations are exceeded. Usually I get WAY more than I pay for. I just had another fantastic experience where I payed about a third of the price of the actual cost of my room and I was blown away. I got a huge suite with its own entryway, an amazing king sized bed and huge windows covering two walls at an amazing hotel and I paid the price for a motel 6! This is the third time that I have gotten a great room at a great hotel for a fraction of the price. Hotwire is my go-to booking website.
Booked for my daughters birthday at Algarve Casino Hotel June 1st to June 5th
Prepaid. At arrival NON existent reservation.
Transferred by hotel from five-stars to one star
Declined IT. No refund. No hjelp.
I booked a hotel but I have a family emergency and I wont be able to travel. Everything I wanted to do is just change the dates on my reservation I dont want to cancel it but Hotwire wont let me do it. So I just pay for 3 nights for nothing. Very disappointed right now.
I bid on hot wire for a 4 star hotel and was given a 3 star hotel. I sent them the hotel's advertisement proving that it is a 3 star to their customer relations department and they still did nothing. They refuse to put me in a 4 star and also refused to refund my money. I would stay away from this website since you will not know what you are getting and you will not get what you pay for. Case number *******6296
Hotwire sucks you should never book with them they send you to bug infested locations and then they cannot help you with getting out of the situation they want you to spend more money no one should ever booked with these people it's a rip-off
Please never book an international hotel through HotWire. They WON'T PAY for your hotels! They hold your money as some deposit but you CANNOT get your money back due to their POOR service system!
I booked on hotwire. I was promised a 4.5 star in delhi. The names appeared as the top choices in the hotel industry. What do they give me? Tulip Essentials at Harinagar in Delhi.
Disgustingly dirty loos. Godforsaken location. No gym. Terrible experience. I'd rather use Oyo rooms to at least get a better price. Why would anyone pay $55 plus and get this quality?
Very sad experience.
I book a 4 star hotel in Chicago. They confirmed me at the Warwick. I called the hotel the day of to confirm and they told me they moved me to the Best Western. Dont use!
Military person trying to visit family. Tried to get a rental car. My dates of travel ended up changing and they would not give me a refund or credit to use later. Customer service was rude and basically i lost out on 70 bucks. You are better off going to rentalcars.com
Answer: In my case it was only when I convinced a Hotwire customer service representative that I needed to speak to her supervisor that I got any "service."
Answer: Phone the hotel to confirm your booking at the rate you paid. Make sure you get the name of the person you talk to and maybe have him send you an E Mail confirmation.
Answer: They can't. For me it's $1400 (more characters to post answer)
Answer: Pay for it then you'll know. Don't book through these people. Read the reviews. I'm still upset with myself for paying lots more than I could have gotten it directly from the Hotel itself. There is no customer service.
Answer: No. I didn't see Richards Hotel on the list. Having said that I've never been to Richard's Hotel it could be great. They just don't show it as one of them. Be kind to yourself read the reviews and stay away
Answer: Never share your credit card info... they double bill you
