I had a terrible experience. The front desk guy hung up on me. I couldn't believe it. I already paid for the room for tonight and I don't have the reservation number or I would've given it to you. I made a reservation at Sands of La Jolla with Julio Cesar, who told me that if I cancel my reservation, even on August 1st, it will be fully refunded. First he quoted $824, then he changed to $895.21, and when I asked the reason, he said, so I can get full refund if I cancel my reservation. Later when I checked the address of the hotel, it was farther than where I planned to stay, so I called to cancel- five minutes after I made the reservation - but the automated service declined my cancellation request, so I requested to speak with a customer service Mark, who told me he spoke with the hotel, and they agreed to a full refund, which I should receive in 2-10 days.

Quick, professional and engaged...
Customer service in 2025 is almost Non Existent ( Unfortunately) so its refreshing to be able to speak with someone professional, courteous and cheerful...
And that can be regardless of what someone m8ght be dealing with at that particular moment, or their last week or year... Very refreshing...

I made a reservation on the phone. I realized that I made it by mistake and called back in less than one minute to cancel. The charge of the room was $292.32. After cancelling, I received only $77.33 back. I lost $214.99 in less than a minute..
Setting up reservation was easy. The stay on the other hand was disappointing

Answer: I attempted to email, submitted a support request, called numerous times, requested call backs (received 0), attempted to chat and was continuously ignored or "disconnected", never once reaching anyone that would or could help me. Customer Service at HotelPlanner is nonexistent.
Answer: HP's staff is full of deceitful and despicable liars. Do not use HP for planning any trips if you wish to have smooth, happy travels.
Answer: Just do not use! HP is awful and they will spoil your travel plans!
