Hostgator's customer service sucks! Billing issues have to be handled by disputes with credit card issuers because Hostgator refuses to make corrections. But of course you know you suck!
I love that I can get customer service at any time, and it's quick, too. They're always helpful. I also closed my account and was able to reactivate it with no issue when I changed my mind. Such great service.
I just had a bad helpdesk conversation that has left me upset with the way I was treated. I feel the person wasted my time and was not knowledgeable or transparent. I am unsure as to why Vinayak was treating me like this. I have been a client for a number of years, and have not received such poor treatment in all that time.

I don't remember why we chose HostGator; it was at least two years ago and I wasn't personally invested in the choice. I probably helped with it, and it probably involved a mix of the price and services on offer, but I generally put stuff related to this job out of my mind whenever I can get away with it. I do remember the reason we left our old host: our site got hacked and that host was not up to the task of helping us any further.
When we changed business names (another company using a name close to ours) 8 years we informed HG - now we've been paying for 8 years for services on a website that hasn't existed for 8 years & we do not have any access to add the services - COMPLETE MESS!
