I haven't had any problems with hostgator yet, well yes I have had some minor ones, but as I said, they were minor and I easily solved them by myself or with the help of the customer support.
The reason why I can't give them 5 stars, is because Hostgator hosting plans are very expensive, I got a good deal for 2 years, but I don't know If after the 2 years I'll still be using their hosting
I am a loyal customer to hostgator for more than 10 years. Everything is fine. High technology. Great customer service.
What i really recommend for them, is to review the prices some how it need to be reduced for a loyal customers like me

I took advantage of the Hostgator Black Friday sale to get my new business website setup. It's been a bit slow for me to get setup over the holidays but with what I have done so far, everything has worked as expected. I had one issue on the initial setup of the site and the technical support rep I dealt with was knowledgeable about the issue and got it resolved quickly.

I bought domain + hosting for personal use and also for business from hostgator. After than I am receiving multiple calls everyday and huge emails to ask if I am interested for website from India. Hostgator will sale your personal/business information and you will be spammed. BE CAREFUL

We reached out to Anjan repeatedly by phone and email and have received no response to our attempts at resolution. As a courtesy we gave the customer a credit in the amount that it would cost them to purchase domain privacy so that they can stop being spammed by people who are accessing their contact info via a simple "whois lookup". We hope that Anjan will respond to one of our emails or will go into their dashboard and purchase the domain privacy. Thanks.

It sounds like what happened in your case is that you didn't obtain Domain Privacy when you signed up for service, and that would expose your contact information for anyone to see by doing a simple "whois" look-up. I can state this without any hesitation - HG has performed well above my expectations. Possibly the only other company who has come close to their excellent service is InMotionHosting - but you will pay through the nose to use their service. I have a cloud based service and paid $400 for 3 years. The amount of amenities, service, reliability HG provides is remarkable - impressive.

I got everything I needed and still have no website.
Since I was treated poorly but Hostgator agents and some supervisors, Cassie a supervisor have changed my host expiration to 02/10/2022, and when I called to reconfirm an agent said my expiration is November 2021 and after I mentioned I am filing a complaint. HE FOUND THE ACTUAL EXPIRATION. Funny right!

My website got hacked. Hostgator was slow to respond. Never really offered any help. Back up was not effective. No other options. Found a cheap freelancer who fixed it FAST. Really dissapointed that hostgator couldnt do something, anything. Then I was told hostgator is not that secure and that I should switch to a better host.

When you purchase software, you are buying it with the hope that it fits your needs. There is always concern in the back of your mind that it might not work. What makes this concern mitigable is if there is someone who can walk you through any challenges or concerns you may have. That was the case with my purchase. If it was not for the splendid, awesome, great, amazing, great (didn't I say that already!) customer service, I would be writing a different review. The individual who assisted me embodied patience, empathy, and virtually held my hand as we made adjustments to my website. My site is activated and running well with no problems. I would recommend HostGator! In fact, I am using it for another website project I am involved in!

HostGator is like some; others - using cPanel. This is I feel is the best way to fully utilize the functionality and completeness of an install and full on support. Which brings me to support! Bar none; HostGator truely extends the use of the help desk functions and the individuals who are by the way quite knowledgeable. If you are using the chat function to resolve, add, move files what ever that may be fine. If it may be in the rehlm of other tech help in which your current help desk is unable to comply?; you are forwarded to that certain help desk person and - YES 99% of the time - you end up with issue / problem solved. HEY! Not everything ever goes right. As long as you can accept that - then, by all means; you will have landed the help you were looking for. With that said - HostGator is extremely reliable and certainly fully supportive of their customers. Enjoy your site choice and relax. They got you.
