In hindsight it was a mistake to choose AND remain with HostGator. All my sites and domains were down, caused by HostGator. 12 domains and sites in total. They re-created them, changing contact info, locking the domains from transfers and I still haven't been able to update or create my sites in 5+ months, but they won't help, no credits and run customers in circles. Requested a refund, nope. Now have to resort to chargebacks for one company. Worst experiences in my 12+ years of building website.
I think Hostgator is a company that is heading towards defeat, I'm using it because I paid for a 3-year plan and I have to wait for it to finish otherwise I would already be with another company. I hired a service over a year ago and I've made several complaints about the server's features, including using the older version of PHP because they don't know how to update cPanel, a procedure that takes 5 minutes to do, remembering that it's all automatic. Hostgator does not refund the price I paid even using an outdated product. They sell one product and deliver another. I don't recommend coming to this company, there are several better ones.
No one has helped me get Codeguard up in the new portal. Ever since guys updated, I've lost access to Codeguard and can't run backups with an application that I pay for!
I thought that Python was supported, and was disappointed that it's only an outdated version and common libraries like BeautifulSoup can't be used.
Your new layout makes navigating to the cPanel very difficult. It only shows cPanel Email, which is not useful. The old version was much easier to navigate.

I love Host Gator because whenever I had a question, I was always able to get a live agent. Instead of having their customers go through the time-consuming, frustrating, none-humaned; FAQ (process of elimination) questionnaire.for their customer service option. At one point, no matter what time of the day I called, someone always answered. But, now-a-days their hours are more limited. Yet, I still love them because, whenever I am able to catch them (because I work so late). Whoever answers, they are always patient, helpful, and attentive to all my concerns. And for these reasons, I just love HOST GATOR.
