The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers expressing satisfaction with product quality and successful installations, particularly when orders were fulfilled correctly. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding customer service, including unresponsive representatives, delays in delivery, and poor quality control leading to damaged products. Many customers reported frustration with the installation process and inadequate support when issues arose. Overall, while there are instances of positive experiences, the prevailing sentiment points to systemic problems in service and product reliability that could deter potential customers.

I have many rugs in the past from Home Decorators catalog and on line. I will not use the Home Depot site again, it is impossible to find what I want. Very bad decision to make these changes.
I am now a "former customer". I was wondering where Home Decorators went and now I can see it's gone. Bad decision Home Depot... add to that your self checkouts in your stores... another bad decision to which makes me avoid Home Depot. No machine will ever replace a properly trained customer service representative at your checkstand.
I have literally decorated my entire home using home decorator and have never purchased a rug from anywhere else. Thousands of dollars on rugs, bath vanities, home decor and now it's impossible to find anything. I will NOT try to navigate Home Depot where you cannot see full room photos, filter by size or color, find anything you are looking for. Say goodbye to a very valuable customer because this was the worst business decision Home Depot could have ever made. My many friends and family are as disappointed as I and all those who gave posted. Very bad move.
Extremely disappointed and sad to say that I would always shop at home decorators. I loved the website super easy to navigate. I don't have time to be looking through small pictures trying, on a home improvement store website! I even feel embarrassed that I've recently recommended the Home Decorators website to my friends who have asked where have I gotten those beautiful rugs from, only to find out that it no longer exists!
I have a masters degree in interior architecture- which is to say I should be able to navigate my way around... My firm designs boutique hotels, restaurants and luxury residential properties... Home Decorators was always a great place to find a last minute random whatnot. The site was easy to use and almost always had up-to-date information on products... the merged site with Home Depot (the parent company) is a total disaster! We cannot fine ANYTHING on this new site and are just not willing to WASTE our time with this piece of crap! PLEASE Home Depot, spin the site back off and help a designer out!
Home Depot website is useless. Even for finding home repair items, never mind home dec items. They obviously do not have enough women involved in this change. Bad photos, cumbersome navigation. What a shame.
It is now part of Home Depot's site. So if you are looking for a nail head chair you will get thousands of listings for nails! Why would anyone think this is a good idea? I spent 1000's of dollars at home decorators by browsing through the last chance clearance items. I loved clicking on the site and seeing 20% off clearance plus free shipping! This site is now useless to me. Anyone have any suggestions for other websites like the old home decorators?
What a nightmare; orders from Home Decorators can no longer be accessed and Home Depot won't honor the warranties, even though Home Depot owned them. This was a merger, not an acquisition but they act clueless when it comes to honoring Home Decorators warranties.
I hired Amy Jameson from Jameson Interiors to remodel my home. She had really good references so I thought I was going to be very happy. She was outlandish in her quotes for jobs to be done and sent me a bill for minimal work that was $6k! Wow! Some of the items were double billed. Very disappointed. K
What a terrible idea! I have bought so many pieces of furniture and rugs from
Home Decorators Collection and now I need custom outdoor furniture cushions,
But the Home Depot site is horrible! I am so disappointed. I will have to move on
To another Furniture and decorating website now.
I bought 4 custom chairs from home decorators and now I need two more of the same. I can no longer get them with this horrible merger. If your going to merge do it right. I agree with the post, I do not want tools etc when I'm searching for custom furniture
I LOVE shopping from homedecorators.com... at least I use to. That was until they merged HomeDepot.com and Homedecorator.com. The site is AWEFUL! I will NOT be buying anything from this new site as it is hard to search, you can't see the description very well and the site is cumbersome. When looking for decorating supplies, I don't want hardware crap included in my search results. I will be shopping from Wayfair.com instead.
I am aware that Home Dec was a subsidiary of Home Depot, but now they have merged Home Dec into Home Depot and it is a disaster. You can't find the custom upholstered items along with many other items. You can't view them in 'room' settings and there is no ambiance to looking at decorator items on a 'hardware store' type website. This was a bad idea - I will be forced to shop on Wayfair - really poor decision Home Dec/Home Dep.
I miss the old home decorators website! It was fast and user friendly and had all of the information for each item clearly visible AND you could PIN your selections to Pinterest. Home Depot, I love you guys, but WHY did you have to mess up a good thing? Your website is so slow and terrible, I can't find anything and I can no longer pin things. I am building a house and I had a nice Pinterest board going of items that I planned to purchase, but you better believe I am NOT using any of the Home Decorators stuff because I your website is too difficult and slow to operate. You have lost a valued Home Decorators customer due to this website change. I am very disappointed.
I've been trying to access their website for awhile today and can't. I get directed to Home Depot every time I type in the Home Decorators URL into the browser. Where did it go? Anyone know?
Shady and rude people. After you purchase your items on their website, they send you an email later that its not available. When you buy on amazon from them, they ship you 6 instead of 8, and when called, they say that its discontinued and i should make do with 6. Getting a refund for missing items is a nightmare. They keep telling me to ship items back and then reorder from them. Yeah, right. They are selling stuff that they do not have and they have no intentions of shipping it.Its a robbery, stay away from them and let everyone know
I ordered chairs in November, they were shipped to Cagney on January 19th and I keep getting the runaround on when I will hear from the shipper. I have put in calls weekly and every week they come up with a new excuse!
I purchased a cabinet in which I have yet to receive from this company. First they shipped it to the wrong address. I called them right away and told them to have it picked up and send to the correct address. I also requested they refund me the money I spent for shipping. Although the lady on the phone said they will have the item picked up and sent to the correct address, I still have yet to receive it. Nor do I have the money for shipping put back into my account. This is the second time I tried ordering from them and have dealt with a severe headache. If I do not have the pricey item I purchased by Monday them I will even need to get an attorney involved to get my money returned.
I received the small cabinet I ordered and it of very poor quality. Trying to put it together with help was dreadful. The instructions are poor with crucial steps left out. The whole thing collapsed while being assembled. Sent back but have little hope for restitution.
I ordered a blue leather sofa from Home Decorators in July 2012. About 2 years later I noticed the blue wore off in one spot. Thought maybe one of the family scarred accidentally. Within the last year the blue is wearing off everywhere. I do not have animals or small children. It is a total mess and I paid $1000 for it. After contacting Home Decorators.com they told me they would send me a certificate for $50.00! I wouldn't spend another penny with their company. The quality is the worst!
Answer: There are other people who ordered cabinets from Home Decorators that wrote reviews and many of them were not pleased and their customer service sucks I do believe if you have a problem you must pay return postage and they'll ask you for pictures first
Answer: No, unfortunately. Home Depot bought the company... then destroyed it.
