The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Excellent job to replace the zone problem. They came on time and fixed the problem
The website is easy to use and HomeAdvisor followed up with more information. I chose a vendor from Angi's list. They continued to follow up with other emails to see if I had chose a vendor and to see how my project was going. There were several vendors but I got a good one and I am totally satisfied with the job done.
We're so excited that the project was success Play The Way We wanted it he listened to us in our every need
First positive experience with Angie. The first time was to get a carport built and I wasted 140 that I never saw again nor did I get a carport. The second time I was calling the guy at 3 pm and he said he was at a bar having a beer or that's what he said anyway so I didn't use him either. Hey y'all wanted my experience so there you go.
Carl did an outstanding job refinishing my 40+year old bathtub. He came as scheduled and finished the job in about half a day. We used the 'new' tub after two days to insure the refinishing was cured. BEAUTIFUL job.
HomeAdvisor provided the names of two contractors for provision of services. I obtained proposals from both. HomeAdvisor provided adequate but not excessive followup during the evaluation process.
They will take your money and will give you fake calls. They called leeds and they will charge you never sign up with them.
It's the first time I use HomeAdvisor. I definitely will use it again and again. Thank you.
Was contacted by 3 providers quickly. They scheduled quickly. The one I choose, Allied Foundation and Crawl Space Solutions understood and could do the job. They gave estimate in writing and had contract. I was extremely satisfied.
This service is great at getting contractor lists quickly that you know are at least somewhat vetted. But the amount of follow-up emails is a bit much and many are repeats. In my case it was numerous emails about "the cost of fencing".
I used Angi's LIST about 10 years ago trying to renovate a home for sale. I found that to be professional and I was able to select the contractor I wanted-someone experieneced with many reviews and hungry to do a good job. Clearly much better than wordof mouth or the yellow pages.
But HomeAdvisor bears no resemblance. It is not easy to find the experience or reviews for contractors and typically there are FEW reviews. The contractors act much the same as off the yellow pages. They arent reliable. I had one hopeful and called to set a start date but never got a response. Others call on the phone whn I have a DO NOT CALL on file. Another contractor wanted to inflate the job and add services to make it worth his while and another decided he did mot want the job and gave me an inflated price. But home Advisor is to blame too. I specifically asked for a handyman because all I really needed was someone up on a ladder for a couple of hours yet I got refers to Gutter companies and clearly THEY did not want this. And then there are the ENDLESS emails soliciting other jobs and countless requests: Have you picked yet? What did you decide? Do you need more contacts? What about other jobs you may be considering? WHAT a pain in th $#*!-all of it. This service is just not worth all the hassle. Bring back Angi'slist.
Called Angi on a Thursday had a handy man by that Saturday. Got many projects complete that had been waiting completion.
Hired Paul's Power Wash and was so pleased with the work. Very professional too!
Vigil was very professional, easy to contact and did excellent work
Great job from start to finish. Now I can finish priming and painting bedroom.
They made me feel very important and that now I have someone to contact when I need help with any project!
I was able to get multiple leads on contractors to do a large multi-phase project to prepare to have my foundation fixed. (3 trees removed and others trimmed since they were going to be there; gutters installed; landscaping to fix drainage issues and installing of 2 french drains and tying gutter downspouts into drain pipes, including leveling the yard and bringing in more dirt. Unfortunately, HomeAdvisor invited themselves into the process a bit too often, and even CANCELLED one of my appointments with a contractor to get a bid...
It took a few weeks to get all the bids and hire the contractors I needed for all 3 projects.
The person was very knowledgeable and explained. He gave in detail on what was the cost and the length of time of the project. When he was done the worksite was left clean.
It was fine. Only had one person that did the type of job that I needed. Wish they had more so I could more bids for different options
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
