The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Very good experience. He was prompt and knowledgeable. Would recommend this company
My disappointment with HomeAdvisor is not seeing who the contractors may be until after you submit the request. They recommend some local contractors I would NEVER use due to past poor experiences. I would prefer to see who is on the 'short list'. Other websites also show these poor contractors have good ratings but like I said personal experience. I have had multiple 'no response' from contractors that were provided. Good thing is I have had follow up from HomeAdvisor to get other quotes/contractors for projects.
On arrival, my technician Joshua, surveyed the site and read over the kit's instructions before proceeding to replace my existing roof heat tape. He did a very professional job on the project. I am very pleased and relieved that this project has been accomplished. ACEHandymanService.com is my go-to for additional projects.
With HomeAdviaor they seem to have a good network of contractors. HomeAdvisora is a little pushy to get one to move fast. I guess that might be considered good if your slow to move forward on a project.
I contacted HomeAdvisor to find a handyman to repair my fence and to extend it to make it longer on the north side of my house. They gave me three different phone numbers but this was the only one who called me back and came out and gave me a quote. I never heard from the other two again. But I'm quite pleased with the work that this company did, and I will definitely hire them again.
I asked for large tree removal experts and HomeAdvisor provided several that could do the job. The job expanded into drainage and gutters as well as the tree removal. I am pleased with the results.
He came out excavated the trench to bury a 36 inch culvert pipe and cover it up. It was a fair price he did the job to my satisfaction and I would recommend him to others
We had 10-12 trees - fruit, deciduous, large shrubs - to trim, prune and secure. I had know idea who to call. The HA gave me three local listings. I called two. One called, came over the next day, gave an estimate and we hired them on the spot.
I broke my arm and reached out to home advisor thinking that they are the most trustworthy. I was assigned to an independent service cleaner in the area who did an amazing job. When i went to cancel service i kept being getting a run around, being placed on hold and continued to get charged. The independent service provider was distraught also as she called to tell me she was sorry to be paid for not doing the work. She told me she could not cancel the service. Every single customer service rep was rude esp Camden at home advisor. I have never written a negative review, i write reviews when things are great and stay silent when they are not so but i have never in my life received such poor customer service - even when there was a ton of opportunity for service recovery as i talked to them at least once a day for 7 days. DO NOT USE HOME ADVISOR EVER.
We recieved 3 quotes. 2 we called were from browsing the web and the third was home advisor. The one from home advisor blew the other 2 away with their quote. Very happy we called and used them. Quality job in a timely matter, just had to wait for the weather lol
Got a call from vendor within an hour and scheduled the appointment that was convenient for us
Came on time and was neat in the finished product
I can find whatever kind of contractor or inspector I need here. I love a one stop shopping for all of my needs. Makes it easy on me.
Home advisor came up with several potential tree companies. I ended up going with one they proposed and I was happy with them
I couldn't log in to write a review. I kept asking to be sent a link email and it kept not arriving. I aasked to be texted and that didn't come through either. I called the number and no one answered. Finally got through via chat.
Easy to use. Had responded quickly. Very happy with the work.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
