Each company that we considered and reached out to immediately contacted us to discuss setting up a date and time suitable for us where they could come in and take a look at the project and give us a quote.

The surveyor broke the water pipe. We called Angie's and they connected us with SWR Enterprise right there. The plumber arrived within the hour and fixed the water pipe in less than 15 minutes! He was great!

Not a lot of luck in the yellow pages or search engines. I was notified within minutes by the company I hired... they sent a representative to my home the next day.
In using HomeAdvisor, I am finding a MAJOR problem with how their website and putting contractors in touch with you. You are asked to fill out a request stating that "type" of job you have (i. E., drywall, plumbing, painting, etc...) THEN as a follow up question... for instance if it is a plumbing job... what is the plumbing job, etc..., if you are moving forward immediately, or just gathering quotes. And yet HomeAdvisor provides NONE of that important information to the contractors! My example is... I am trying to get a quote to replace TWO (2) toilets (and, by the way, the quote request does not allow me to indicate it is not 1 toilet... that it is two or have an area for "notes"... where I could indicate there are 2). Therefore, I am getting calls from contactors and all that they know is I have a plumbing job... NO DETAILS! This is after I provided details of exactly what I am looking for to HomeAdvisor... so now you have to explain... from ground zero what you want to EACH contractor. NOT a good business platform. I guess I am supposed to be grateful that they at least got the request to the correct type of contractor (i. E. a plumber).
. Eric is professional, responsive and price's his jobs fairly. He responded to the lead from Angi within a short period of time, came by same day to access and quote on the job. I recommend Eric and will call upon him for future jobs.
Jhonny Aroja contacted me to perform an assessment of the work. Before he arrived, I ordered from Home Depot expensive parts that I expected would be needed for the job. When Jhonny arrived, he evaluated the problem and suggested an alternative approach that would solve the problem without the expensive parts. With a short trip to Home Depot for some minor parts, he worked to resolve the problem. Jhonny not only solved, he saved us money. I would hire Jhonny for any home projects in the future.
I was charged $150.00 because I didn't use the handyman that they set up. I never received a phone call or an email to verify the appointment by the handyman. Since I didn't receive anything from him I didn't think he was going to show up. I was upset when he showed up unannounced and when I asked
Why he didn't contact me he said he forgot. However I was still charged for him showing up and for using their service. I will never use them again.
I went to "Angi" to get contacts of people who did repairs on wood burning fireplaces. Within minutes I received a call from someone who was interested in my request. We set up an appointment for the next day for him to evaluate the job. It took about a week for the ordered materials to be delivered to him. The installation of the insert took place shortly after that. I was impressed with S&J Professional Home Care and would certainly recommend this company. This was the first time I used "Angi" and I would use it again.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
