The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

I went online seeking estimates for work I wanted done. Angi gave me a list of prospective bidders. Out of 5 only 2 contacted me by voice. 3 others assumed I had a smart phone and could download their estimates, which I could not. Gave Email contact, none of them utilized that method of contacting me. Obviously, they did not get my business. As the customer I should not have to work hard to let companies bid for my business.
Did a great job painting my kitchen ceiling. Came right on time. Worked consistently. I would recommend him for sure
System matches you indiscriminately with the wrong type of pro, sometimes out of your area and sends you lots of emails and texts that are not in sync with where you are in a project. Do do get some good matches, but you have to do a lot of sifting out yourself.
Angi's called me and tried to sell me the member option. I declined as the membership gives them the decision over who to hire and the price is based on average rate. Then they give you a 20% discount. I quickly found 2 electricians willing to complete the project off the list from Angi's. The cost was considerably less than what I would have paid through the membership program.
Plenty of estimates to review. Estimates were to be reviewed by the company reimbursing me for the initial damage.
Job done as required and earlier than planned. Brian and his crew cleaned up everything and left nothing behind.
Had several tree stumps removed from our front yard.
Interested providers called immediately and were professional in their field
Steven was very personable and went above and beyond what he needed to do. He takes pride in his work which is reflected in the results. I am thrilled with the look of my kitchen and bathroom countertops and sink!
I like using Angi but I don't like when they call to follow up, they don't leave a message if I don't answer. I don't answer calls if I don't recogize the phone number.
Representatives who called from angi were always nice and pleasent. However if a company comes and does not what the job just say so. Donot have a potential customer calling you several times and waiting. Of the people who came their were only 2 who really seemed to want to do the work. When listing work on Angie stated it was a old roof and a repair job not everyone can afford to have a new roof. Thank you Phillips and Roberts roofing for being up front and the only 2 who had the same ideas about the work that needed to be done. Choice Phillips because they went on roof and actually cleaned out gutter to allow the water to drain off roof. So since they did this i felt they really wanted the job. Would have used the Roberts company if they had not came back as. Agreed upon.
They recommended a company that ripped me off an home advisor did nothing about it. They recommended companies without looking into the back ground an customers get ripped off an Home Advisor does. Nothing to. Protect you.
Pretty effortless for my first time experience with this type of "shopping".
We contacted angis list which connected us to home advisor. My husband talked to a representative and explained what we had. The guy said no problem and gave us a quote. Scheduled it for Thursday at 4 pm guys were 1/2 hour late. Worked a couple hours then told us they would need a couple more hrs. My husband approved 2 more hours, well needless to say 8 pm they still wasn't even 1/2 done and left it unfinished. My husband called. Customer service they said they would send someone Friday at no extra cost. Women shows up with her son. Well after 2 hours they are calling us wanting more hours we "DENIED IT " they left the job NOT FINISHED. Next thing we know home advisor is trying to charge us another $250.00 plus for a job never finished! So we would be over $600.00 for a job not even finished. Needless to say my husband was in hospital for a bad heart issue. NEVER EVER USE THEM AGAIN RIP-OFF
Wife got intouch with Angi Home Advisor who provided 4-5 local contractors. She called and left messages Tyler French was only one to respond. We would highly recommend his service.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
