The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

I was happy with the whole process... they worked with me on price and did the job quickly and cleaned up nicely when finished
. sliding door replacement by Yonnie was great. Very prompt, competent and price was right. Garage door repair was fine except way over priced.
Good Experience. Will use your services again in the future. Thank you.
To begin, our sales consultant Patrick Legg lied to us from the beginning, and he got the spelling of my name wrong, which in return held up my background check. He told us we would receive an inflated amount of leads each month and promised us a free lead when we signed up, which we never did receive. I made it clear that we did not want our home address on our profile, and it ended up there for customers to see. We had to call and have it removed, which took 20 minutes or more to get that corrected. I tried to update the credit card on file to a new card, and the system wouldn't let me saying I had to call, which took another 20 minutes to get that fixed. I have gotten five spam texts about house cleaning, which isn't even one of our services. Then the only lead we get turns out to be a joke. We requested a full refund of our annual membership fee of $288, which Mr. Legg told us that we could get only to be lied to again by him because the manager Mark said we were not eligible to receive because we were past the 3-day return policy which was never once explained to us. Mark said their terms have been in place for 21 years, so they must be perfect then. This company is a joke, and I would not recommend giving them any of your hard-earned money. They continue to make broken promises.
I have only had good experiences with the companies that have been suggested and used.
Contacted home advisor for plumbing issues and with In 3 hours everything was fixed and completed. Price lower than local plumbing companies by 1/3 the price. I always use home advisor.
Very easy to find a pro. I hired a plumbing pro I found on Service Advisor. I have used the same plumber before, and will hire again in the future.
Great reviews and information is provided. Site is Easy to use And info provided is excellent to help make decision about your project
It was good, except when it asked me if I wanted to review the 3 listings they found for me and I clicked the review button nothing happened. Then Seth got in touch with me and I hired him to do the job.
Too many emails soliciting business. Asked to unsubscribe, but was ignored. I finally had to mark as spam to stop all the unwanted emails.
Asking for recommendations that are paid for by the contractor and recieving almost daily spam are two different things. I regret ever providing them my email
I went online and set up a cleaning with home advisor, put in my card information and received a message that my transaction did not go through and to contact them. I did so three times since their line kept "disconnecting". I was told that my information was not in the system. At that point, I had no interest in using them and went to seek other providers. Then low and behold money from home advisors comes out of my account. I call back. I'm actually on hold as I type this (15 minutes and counting). They can't find "my account". I'm told that they are very busy and a supervisor is not available--at least that is what I gather from what appears to be some language barriers. Moving is stressful and busy. Home advisors took time away (taking away) from me doing my work and scheduling other appointments. Unless you have time and money to waste go another route. Still on hold btw...
We were given 3 recommendations - 2 responded in a timely manner; the 3rd did not respond at all. Both of the respondents were knowledgeable and gave us different options to remove the mold.
They sent me a company name and number the owner texted me right away and he was here within an hour to diagnose our problem. I would use the company again
Couldn't have been more simple. Contractors offered made themselves immediately available on request and follow up by HA upon completion was quick and easy.
It would be nice to have other ceiling contractors
Excellent service and communication, prompt. Very satisfied.
Homeadvisor has been very good at finding the right people for me to work with.
Connected me with the right person. That person lived close to where I live
When I needed a welder in my area for my project, I Googled Welder, and HomeAdvisor, had a welder contact me immediately! WOW WAS THAT EASY! And, the guy that did the work, was amazing. I'm very pleased with this experience, and at the end result. I will not hesitate in using this service again.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
